Really pleased to see this car is still going strong. I bought it new, built to my specifications and ran it for a number of years until I had to sell for financial reasons. It’s registered with my initials (SMW). Hope it’s still going strong.
Hi Steve, yes its still going strong. It did have a full body off chassis restoration a while ago but that will mean it will outlast me. It will never be sold. We have had many incredible trips in her to Europe, to Millbrook proving grounds and other great places. Despite what people who have never sat in one, never mind driven and owned one, say they are fabulous cars and VERY reliable if you use them regularly and look after them.... Thanks for your comment
Great video, l also fitted a manual puller using a bonnet cable puller, l threaded it through in the side access panel where the door control solenoid lives, just incase my electric boot release stops working again😅
My boot catch is non existent. Only the cable and bracket to hold the lower catch. Top piece also not there. I have no clue what to look for in order to replace the catch but I will find the parts eventually. Right now though I'm giving the guts a good albeit slow service and these videos are priceless. Thanks.
@@SNORKYMEDIA will snoop around the internet when I get to the boot. I am also missing a driver side mirror. I cannot for the life of me find any affordable spares but I see guys put TT mirrors on with a bit of engineering. May go that direction but again, only when I get there. Engine and electrics are going to keep my busy and broke for ages.

that is what the cable tie on the cable was for - I forgot to mention it later

The bottom part was easy to find on the internet, The top part looks a bit like mk1 MX5

It was a common problem that the release button on the dash would snag, and stay depressed and that would burn the motors out. Easy done apparently.
