The sirens you hear at 0:55 are actually the All Clear signal. (One long, steady tone rather than the wavy up and down tone.)Guess everything must be okay. Let's go outside. Oh...what's that bright light--------?
+The DEFCON Warning System
The actual siren protocol depends on the local government. One nearby small town actually sets off their siren for one minute, three times as the shtf alert. And uses a three minute steady siren as All Clear.
As for where I'm at, with any luck, I'd hope to be able to hear my local USAF base sirens/PA messages, as I'm quite near the USNORTHCOM/NORAD HQ located out at Peterson AFB...
+The DEFCON Warning System or... the steady siren also is a warning signal...
when I was listening to this, my lights flickered and I swear I just froze in fear
+LuigiNeku oh man, crap has happened like that to me before, doesn't feel to great
Lightning just so happened to strike, knocking out power at our house. Screamed like a little bitch and sharted myself
+Nanboii Offical meh do touched my foot and I threw my tablet and ran
Do you know why this instills fear? It's due to classical conditioning a psychological reaction with our brains. It's like hearing your alarm clock on Saturday when you don't have to go to class or hearing someone else's ringtone the same as yours gives you the urge to answer your phone. So you have been conditioned at a young age to know when that sound appears a sense of fear is present. The sound has classically conditioned your brains to be afraid or alert with fear when the sound goes off.
I had been using the standard nokia alarm tone for years, and now it still instills fear whenever I hear it, although I. Don't use it anymore
nicetightsize8jeans Ringtone means Monday which means waking up at 7:00 which means hell on earth.
I am Canadian, We do not have a system like this, but i heard the tones here(which my friend sent me) and in movies and the sounds terrify me.
This video changed my perspective and made me realize that if a man made or natural disaster would happen I wasn't prepared for it. Now I'm building supplies in case an emergency does happen.
Holy shit... at the end of the video one of the loudest fireworks i have ever heard went off only about 100 meters away.. i jumped straight out of my chair and almost through the floor
"If we persevere, we will emerge victorious." Uh, no. If it comes to nuclear war, *everybody* loses.
The use of static, pitch & silence puts this at it's own level. It's really remarkable how superior this is to other vids done in this style.
11:23 I love how he says "Chicagooo" so joyfully!
Also live in Chicago, I guess nuclear fallout will be worst in The Windy City
Dude. This is by far your BEST simulation. Stick with the LIVE stuff. It is really realistic. Try adding other sound effects like you did hear. Maybe make mock newscasts, etc.
Having taken place in my hometown, this made it a lot scarier.
I got goosebumps when the EAS called for St. Louis, where I live, to get struck by a missile! Possibly scariest video I have seen in my life.
One of the mock missiles was heading to Chicago
I'm screwed
I really hope this scenario won't happen
The EAS should also have released additional instructions, like these:
1. If your selected city is targeted for a imminent nuclear attack and you see the preliminary signs of a bright flash from the first nuclear explosions, do not look directly at the blasts. Looking directly at the blasts can cause instantaneous melting of the retinas which can cause temporary or even permanent blindness. You can look indirectly at the blasts to see where exactly the blasts will be from.
2. When you notice the flashes, immediately cover your ears because likely you will hear a very thunderous acoustic shock from the nuclear blasts, no matter what the distance the nuclear impacting points are.
3. The blast waves from nuclear bombs will be something similar to the damaging high winds from tornadoes, so the rules are the same...go to the lowest floor available and go under heavy furniture and cover your head with your arms.
lindenly22 If you see the flash, you're going to die from the shockwave and subsequent firestorm.
If you're exposed to the flash, then you've already been horribly burnt and irradiated but at least the shockwave will end your suffering ._.
Kansas was not hit by the blast therefore those instructions are not required
I've heard that emergency notice dial-tone sound my entire life, mostly to my annoyance at interrupting my tv show, but every time I hear it pop up in a disaster or horror movie or videogame, it sends chills down my spine. Hard chills. Ass-clenching chills.
+jtroopa You have never heard it in horror movies. The tones cannot be transmitted on radio or TV unless they are testing or an EAS alert was sent. Cable companies were fined over $2 million dollars for broadcasting the advertisement for Olympus Has Fallen that included the tones.
Ethan100101 I was really referring to that movie and a single videogame I'd heard it in. The opening cinematic to XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
+Criz Kush
To see if it still works sufficiently. If a real emergency was to take place and the system didn't work, there would be unimaginable punishments!!
I know a Ghost Radio station which is UVB-76 which is Creepy which is Creepy because It Buzzes 24 hours in Russia but there are times the UVB-76 were Hacking EAS
UVB-76 had the Pipe sound and Sqeaky wheel during the Cold war back in the day
Given that the EAS is supposed to override cable TV and radio programming, it makes me wonder if cordcutters are screwed.
+PlutoTheSecond You still have wireless emergency alerts for smartphones, Internet, and local tv stations which may broadcast the EAS. They're not screwed, but it may be several extra minutes before they take action. In a scenario like this, minutes count.
all television stations subscribe to the was alert and all mobile devices subscribe to the eas alert system when I was in Dallas and we had a tornado the eas system is no joke.
+TheNekoman123 how strong was it cause if it was a ef three u are screwed it's like hiding in a city of glass
jurassicworldfan 10 an ef-4 and glass isn't the case having glass and steel structures still doesn't mean your screwed in a tornado. In fact it depends on how far you are in the interior and the type and thickness of glass. Not all glass is shatter into millions of piexes glass.
Holy crap, why am I watching this at 1 in the morning with the lights off?
Nearly 50 nukes were lost during the Cold War
What if one is near you?
What if it explodes
I know he said "all-clear signal," but it almost sounded like "all-killed signal," which would be more realistic for this situation.
They should make an EAS that just says:
'There's a nuclear bomb coming, everyone's gonna die.'
and that's it
Safety instructions unclear, accidentally entered godmode and didn’t die to bomb
Honestly, it followed up by an " how to not die by nuke " tutorial thingy over voice would be the most effective. Spread panic to ensure everyone's on their feet, give commands, reassure safety, and who survives dies, and who dies goes to heaven.
I noticed the clock in the corner and it's implying that the nukes hit at roughly 11.08 PM.
Wouldn't it be ironic if the nukes instead hit at exactly 12 midnight as an inadvertent nod to the infamous Doomsday Clock?
@@DS.the1st
For you to understand Epic Stimulus, the original comment said about whether it would be ironic that the nukes hit at midnight, relating it to the doomsday clock.
The doomsday clock was invented in 1947 by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, and it is where there is a set amount of minutes to "midnight" (which means the extinction of humanity) so the amount of minutes away from "midnight" the doomsday clock is, the safer humanity is. Right now, as of 2019, the time on the doomsday clock is 11:58PM, 2 minutes until "midnight", so we are quite close to human extinction. It changes depending on whether humanity tries to collaborate to mitigate threats posed to it that can drive it to extinction. This can include nuclear war, climate change etc.
Since the question said about it being ironic that if the nukes hit at midnight, it would be related to the doomsday clock, because nuclear war has the potential to drive humanity to extinction. So, basically, Epic Stimulus just agrees that it would be ironic if the nuke detonated at 12:00 AM
Try watching this at midnight and your entire family is asleep. *Shudder*
Man, I just did this... this actually brought tears to my eyes as I actually imagined it happening and the powerlessness, oh my God...........
OK, these things terrify me more than any horror movie. I demand my mother at once!
This literally made me sick to my stomach to listen to.
"Do not use elevators" Boring... "Do not use elevators as they may stop functioning at any time and will put you in immediate danger" That's better.
Listened to this at midnight alone with the lights out. Big mistake.
the fact that we don't have civil defense anymore blows my fucking mind. 90% of people would have no clue what the fuck to do or how serious this actually would be.
We will stay on the air as long as we c-
I'm not prepared for anything, shit I don't even have a band aid for when I scrape my knee.
I first saw this back in 2013. Now, it is the standard introductory for people doing EAS alerts. You got my interest in alerts with this video. Excellent work!
I literally have goosebumps. Holy. Fucking. Shit. This is scary.
You profile pic is actually more horrifying than this fictional alert. Why would you make a picture of a mass of conjoined dog heads?
The thought of a nuclear attack happening late at night while listening to the situation develop live over the grainy audio of a radio in a basement is straight-up terrifying.
"Leave the telephone lines open for emergency use."
If there was a nuclear blast, I'm not sure anyone, let alone emergency services would be using their phone.
I can imagine that. I just picture people just saying, "Hello? Um, hi, I was calling to say that I am being burned alive and are wondering if you could stop this? Wait, you are experiencing this too? Oh, well, please come fix it here, I'm more important. Thank you, bye.
The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. Was laying in bed a few weeks ago and a horrible thunder storm come through. The Tornado sires went off at one in the morning and jolted me awake and I have chills even as I am typing this thinking to that night. The idea that I could wake up to THIS scenario playing out in front of me as sirens go off all around me chills me to my very core. I pray that this is as close as we get to a nuclear war.
We have had air raid sirens since at least 1959, or 1960. missile tracking station was built here then. It's probably still on target list, even though it's a far smaller radio astronomny installation now. They use the sirens every 4th of July as part of celebrations.🎉🎇🧨
How very interesting that this ends with silence instead of an ear-shattering explosion sound. You've ended this with the majority of us at the edges of our seats with tension. And now we have to wait for the adrenaline to bleed off gradually and naturally. No climactic moment, no resolution. Very eloquent. If you think about it, it's almost poetic.
If you were near the epicenter, there would be no explosion sound. You would not have enough time to process the shockwave before the fireball incenerated you.
And North Korea just completed it's 5th nuke test...
Russia's more worrisome than NK. That and the fact that if nuclear button pusher Trump gets elected, we're probably boned.
trump is POS whose mouth will more quickly get us killed than Clinton, at least that bitch has been in politics before...
Trump is not going to attack anyone. He's talking big because our current president can't. What he's saying is we're not going to get pushed around and we'll do what we need to to defend ourselves. If you see him react to Putin, there is a line of communication that it, for now, appears that Putin is willing to entertain. Frankly, that's a good thing right now.
Don'tPlayWithGuns the media? they've done nothing but say what you just accused me of. media is trying to convince the people that he will start a war. I said the opposite.
I've listened to this at least 10 times and it never gets old. Masterful.
So I'm watching this, in my room, lights off, my laptop is the only thing on.
Though I know nothing's actually happening right now, I'm frozen with fear. I can't imagine if this shit actually happened.
"In case of a REAL emergency, you will not be informed. Your first indication of an impending attack will be the flash of detonation."
Just to think that this could happen any day now. We could just be minding our own business when sirens start blaring.
+Keegan Bibb I was thinking the same thing. They've been testing their nukes for some time now, and they're cockamamie enough to use them without being attacked first.
+Keegan Bibb +DJCandyManMike It takes an hour for them to prepare the missile for launch. That's more than enough time for a US Spy Satellite, Drone, or US Navy East Sea Blockade ship to spot it and take it out.
Off-topic, but imagine waking up to some voices on the radio, not understanding what they mean.. a few minutes and you're fully conscious, the last words you can make out are -
"To those who did not evacuate in time, good luck and may God have mercy on your souls."
The radio station you were tuned to was locally-based.
Very good. This actually gave me chills. Well done.
Coming back to this every now and then, I think this is one of the few EAS mocks that legitimately gives me chills, Because this is something that may very well happen if we are not careful. If I woke up in the middle of the night and heard this, I would feel like the depths of hell had split open on earth and we are not going to survive.
I've been also thinking about this video a lot recently in the current events with Russia and Ukraine. I pray to God that a nuclear war does not happen in our lifetimes, no, EVER. Because if that happened, its game over.
Brilliantly made video, Hope this kind of scenario stays in the realms of fiction.
This was the very first mock EAS nuclear attack video I ever saw. It spooked me so badly that I couldn't sleep that night, and lead to much internet research on both how to survive radiation/fallout emergencies as well as how the EAS works (plus the old EBS and even CONELRAD). Very, very well done.
I've seen several of your mockups and I have a bit more than a healthy interest in the EAS system. This video was particularly good.
This is the best time in your life to get on your knees, and ask the Lord to forgive you of your sins. You may not have another opportunity. Even if you don't believe in God, what do you have to lose ?

This is amazing. I really loved how you managed to put suspense into this video and make it realistic.
I would've loved to see you do another video like this, but with zombies. :)
I live in PA. Welp, it was nice knowing everyone
Leaning back in my chair with Hands behind head. Hears Dallas in list of targeted cities. Heart stops
"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father."
Don't be sad...Melech HaOlam is in control.
This is pretty great. Good Job, theEASexperience.
🔵 @ 11:22 The 'Emergency-Voice' telling which cities are going to be hit sounds so HAPPY when it says "CHICAGO!", the way he says it makes it sound like Chicago won an AWARD or somethin'!
This could be real now.
My life is so horribly dull, that I would actually be excited to see something like this show up on TV.
Justin Higgins when your excited that you saw the favorite trailer of a new movie and your extremely pumped for it, would I wanna see it?
Very well done. Creepy and quite convincing. Out of all the EAS alert-type videos I've seen here on CZcams, this one is the best. I live in Canada, and we got rid of all our air-raid sirens 25 years ago, so if the balloon ever did go up, we'd never know it until it was too late!
Probably watched this more times than any other video on CZcams....love it.
When I was in elementary school my friends and I wandered back into the back of the school and found a dark metal staircase leading down about 5 feet. We were in 5th grade so that was scary enough. We turned the corner and found a giant metal blast door. We saw a faded metal sign with an orange biohazard sign that said nuclear fallout shelter. The school was built back in the 50s and to this day anytime i see that door it freaks me out... no teachers in the school will talk about it...
Lol. Only 4 missiles? With a mean-time-to-impact of 15 mins? NORAD would literally have to be drunk to fail to intercept all 4. We keep 2 to 3 hundred interceptors on standby at all times across the country.
@@EASReviewer wow. Making a correction on a three year old comment just for you to be wrong.
This must be so embarrassing for you.
@@madlarkin8 nah, it's bc I thought it was 4 too, only to realise it was foreign 😭
@@EASReviewer i guess trust your first instinct then, because its usually right?
Whoa. Hyper realistic! Subscribed.
this is terrifying. you got a new subscriber from that.
I thought this video would ACTUALLY be from your perspective, Like what you see during this attack.
There's an episode of the SPIKE show 'Surviving Disaster' about a Nuclear Attack, I'd recommend a watch. Pretty cool.
Lol it will be Fallout 3/New Vegas. People will unite against each other, and surviving is key! I'm going to play that game now....
Trampeze
Better load up on stimpaks, and maybe a combat shotgun... oh, and shotgun shells. Also, maybe some weapon repair kits, some rad-x and rad-away, and some T-51b power armor.
@@magenta3101 ah, dont forget the nuka-cola! make sure to get the quantum version too.
This is the best EAS video on CZcams. Awesome!
This was very well done. I applaud you for your creativity.
6:52 that static is more fucking scary than anything else.
Gave me chills. Good job.
This one is awesome man. So realistic. Scary as hell.
Gonna need to get a Random dog from a gas station now :/ Darn China
Gunshots towards concord. Wonder if I should help out that guy on the balcony.
Well said Mr. President!
As always, an incredible video. This is probably the best Halloween EAS special I've seen and cool idea putting us in your shoes. :) Of course now I'll probably be up for the rest of the night but that means you've succeeded.
Naming the cities really got to me--people would've been saying "It'll be somewhere else, not here" and then, when they hear their city, the utter CHAOS is unimaginable.
I wonder how many people would purposely LEAVE their houses, and if they'd be forced inside by authorities or well-meaning civilians.. I would try to get as close to a ground zero as possible.
This is very well-done. You've touched true horror, and it's scarier than any monster or ghost.
This is brilliant nonetheless.. It put me there.. Chilling to say the least.
I should think that any speech would be pointless in such a situation. No amount of patriotic fluff could insulate you from nuclear fire.
Also, theEASexperience, this is your BEST video yet! Keep making these 'experience' videos, and you'll get more subs than you think you will! I know that
In spite of a few nitpicky details, this is the best mock EAS video I've seen yet.
watching this alone at 12 am is probably a good way to assure you won't get any sleep tonight.
When it said "this is not a test" i got goosebumps
Very well made!
I remember coming to hear this everyday when I was 13. 15 and coming back for nostalgia
imagine how many pranks you could do with this channel
I remember this kind of thing in London back in the 80s when this was still a very real threat. I'd occasionally hear the practice runs of the sirens. The sound still gives me the fear today.
I heard them in Portsmouth a few years ago, I hid in a rubbish bin for about an hour
I'm not sure if you're joking, but for anyone who knows how real the fear that these sounds bring are, I'd believe it. People hid under cars in Threads, for gods sake, as if that would protect them from nukes. Same way as I hide under my quilt if I think someone is breaking in..
thank you for beginning an amazing community
Chilling... Very good work. This is almost TOO realistic.
Fuck it. Take a Xanax or three, make a strong drink, and sit out on the porch. Better than panicking and running around before the bomb hits. Certainly better than climbing out into the rubble a few weeks later assuming you survive.
Vsauce brought me here. And scared the shit out of me. Thankfully, I'm not from USA. But I will live there soon. :S
Haha wait for Korea this will be on in one or to months with air raid sirens *shutters* it creepy as hell to listen to especially since their time is different and they will most launch during our night *dreams about cats* air raid siren sounds ahh what grandma oh shit well I'm going to die anyway so why not sleeping
News:we are all going to die so happy trails
Me:what the hell how will this going to be happy trails
Best of luck and may the game be forever in your favour lol
Wow, thanks for sharing. Very scary... I cannot imagine being in their shoes, in fear that they may be able to use it....
they say remain calm but the text to speech and sirens are literally the scariest thing you will ever hear

I wouldn't want to know I was about to be evaporated. I'd rather die in peace.
This is the single scariest thing i hope i never have to hear. I respectfully request premission from you theEASexperience to use bits of this audio to create a video similar to this one, except I am to include the sirens and thundering impact sound effects to stimulate the realism.
This was one of the SCARIEST 14:53 minutes of my life!
Thank goodness I was watching this in the afternoon.
But you made it sound so realistic!
You have a lot of talent!
When you pause the video but the sirens don't stop.
y'no, im pretty sure this was used in EmpLemons video "there may Never Ever be another man as powerful as Stanislav Petrov"
EmpLemon is a man of culture as well, it seems.
That sounds great, the sirens are so terrifying.
Ur best EAS scenario god i wish u could make more of these
The most chilling part is the silence between broadcast
