Machining thumb screws that can be found for $15 each on the bay might not be the ultimate use for the "Double E" but reason enough for me to fire up the Thyratron vacuum tubes and spin them out for restoration to service one Starrett #123 Master vernier caliper replacing two lock screws to near perfection replicating the Special 52 tpi on #5, .101" and #12 .182" screw sizes. Using Micro 100 AR8 tool bit machine sharpened with a .020" nose radius machining 3/8" 01 drill rod and using a sharp high speed steel bit for threading with the Electric Lead Screw Reverse for reduction of camming error using the half nuts.
