Planning on giving my lord of contagion the droning aura (mortals on battleshock tests) and letting my knight terrorize the board while the rest of the army does the work. Great video!

    Did you notice the harbingers of dread -1 to leadership is by model. So stacks -1 per knight model if you can get multiple knights within range of same enemy unit. Getting a -2 or a -3 to their leadership test could actually make the tule interesting with a bunch of little nights if you can get close enough.

    • @kronksstronkstonks6360
      @kronksstronkstonks6360 Před 11 měsíci +2

      I had to double-check this since I've never seen this mentioned before, but this seems legit. This kind of changes my perspective on Harbingers of Dread a little.
      Looking this up I noticed that Ld can never be worsened beyond 9+ but that's specifically a limit for the Characteristic being modified, not for dice rolls being modified, and per core rules, only to hit/wound are capped at +/-1 so you could have a minus 3-5 modifier quite consistently if you're sitting in the midboard with a lot of wardogs. Cool find,

    The Aura of Terror enhancement is actually quite nice, since an enemy unit looking to take your objective needs to take a Battleshock test if it is below starting strength at -1. If they fail their Battleshock their OC will be 0 and you'll hold on to your sticky objective.

  • @ViolosD2I

    The "battle shock test with any wound at all" rule really gives some value to indirect fire havoc launchers if you go first, even if they just scratch the enemy.

  • @tyger40k
    @tyger40k Před rokem +1

    Thanks for the great video! To clarify, can the Knights can force a unit below half strength to take two battleshock tests in the battleshock step of the command phase? The rule seems to require a separate battleshock test for all units that aren't at full strength, regardless of whether those units might have to test for battleshock again on account of being below half strength. But the Designer's Commentary could be read to suggest that anything below full strength must simply test for battleshock once during that step.

    • @tyger40k
      @tyger40k Před rokem +1

      For what it's worth, I think the answer is that only one test is made for half-strength units within 12" of a knight during the battleshock step, but it'd be great to get confirmation one way or another.

    Question: I just got myself an Abominant and 2 boxes of Wardogs to start out with. Also planning on getting a Tyrant in a month or two.
    Since Wardogs are now Units of just one model, would it be better to have something like 2 Carnivores and 2 Brigands or diversify and make them 3 or even four different models?

      I played a cracking first 3 games this weekend with an Abominant, a Brigand, and a Huntsman (playing at 750pts). Nicely rounded in capability. I'll be adding a second Brigand, and a Stalker or Karnivore, then either a Despoiler or Destructor.
