Highly informative and uncomfortable. Thank you.
Sums up the whole channel, not just this video. Never change please Mr Underbelly
😂😂
I never laughed so hard at something I hated
Yep, sure was creepy! ;D
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hate that this is so informative that i have to watch again and listen to this asmr😭
Having a group called "NOT DRUMS" is too relatable.
I'm willing to stick my neck out and say I love everything about this video even though I'm not even half way through. Next time stereo microphones plz!
stereo mics would be dangerous
There's actually a lot for experienced producers in here.
Some of these techniques are some of the most slept on pieces of making a mix sound professional. thanks, UB
Oh definitely. I never thought to boost the drive and equally attenuate the output to squash those transients. It's so simple!
@@thejayce I’ve done it but I overlooked the digital clip mode, I usually used analog or soft sine and sometime I wished there was a more transparent option (but there is lol)
Loud = professional unga bunga

This loud whispering is terrifying. Thanks for being a weird character in these videos. I know you're just having fun, but it is very disarming and filters out a weird, insecure part of my brain and I feel much freer to just learn the presented concepts without giving up.
im doing this cause i will probably have to watch this again and i need to extract the max possible from this two times cause we knew this is impossible to watch 3x
Jokes aside, some amazing gems dropped in here!
I cannot state how perfect the timing on the release of this video is. I've learned a whole fuckin lot watching your videos man!
Dude I love how humorous your videos are while remaining some of the most informative production tutorials. Genuinely the stuff you teach in these videos stick with me because of the dumb (in a good way) jokes and characters you bring into the videos. I always look forward to new uploads!
finally a tutorial from a person who actually tells you what to do instead of fooling around. thank you
this is actually the only video in all of youtube that I know of that goes straight to the point in how to create loud mixes. FINALLY someone who delivers!!!! thank you
Perfect balance of entertaining and extremely informative. Wowsers!
that saturator technique is absolute game changer for me! thank you!!
Highly highly highly informative tips. That limiting dynamics tip is easily top 5 best tip I’ve had on CZcams.
excelent video man! im glad to see you doing this over the years!
what is that swimming pools remix
Oooh, reducing dynamic range... I've made so much mixes where the peaks are loud af but the track in general doesn't cut through, so finally the overall mix isn't that loud. I know why now, thank you :)
This was actually very calming I got used to it quickly
You make my ears all tingly
My mans Underbelly flexing that he can afford to buy Pro-L twice.
Your creepy yet comforting aura is growing every year with your hair. Fantastic tutorial as usual Underbelly
The crunchiness overall very nice... wowzers :3
Man, this is fantastic !
Thankyou sir. Extremely helpful & palatable.
Didn't know the digital clip setting could be so useful, thanks. 👍
Wow! One of the most useful vids I've ever seen
These videos are too funny , keep it up xD But also informative . Thats whats important .
Still so much Gems to drop, this should be basic by now, but it always gets me how less bass or dynamics and other stuff is needed for loudness. And damn UB, what a trip going back and forth between your vid’s, always something to find there !
Yo huge amount of knowledge in this video, thanks!!
So so so useful thankyou so much!
Gotta give the two limiters on the master bus trick a go. Thanks man!
I also disable high quality mode on the saturator and make sure there's no oversampling with my clippers and limiters. That way you get a nice brick of audio and your levels won't go higher than where the gain is set. Disabling true peak limiting will help to preserve transients.
There is nothing better than a good teacher. I love you, Underbelly
ohhh finally!! so helpful!
So useful! Thank you
Goat! Thanks
Didn't knew music production asmr was something i needed.
Bro I Love You. I was so Taken Back by all the Funny Stuff you do. with not even skipping a beat. i had to go back and Listen to it several times to even understand because i was rolling the first time i watched a video. Your Awesome!
omg the asmr is so good ahhhhhh
peak tingles
perfect timing for the flume drop
brilliant
Your eyes look really mesmerizing in the opening shot!
Holy shit the grain delay part with the chords melted my brain lol
About to mix an album for some friends and they want a loud mix. This info will help, thanks!!
SO LOUD! WOWZERS!
This is the loudest YT video I've ever heard ^^. The intrinsic sarcasm is gold.
dude this is fucking FIRE thank you so much.
What a informative video. Thank you :)
wowzers!
You're the best!!
i was expecting him to feed multiple OTT into each other but this is also a good method
but the OTT method adds that cool tail tho
ott kills mix loudness (top secret knowledge)
Thanks!!🤘🤘
PLEASE i need to listen to that kendrick remix you used for reference!
amazing 👌👌👌
Great video
Underbelly, dude, I F'n LOVE the juxtaposition of your delivery VS. the subject matter and the relative ridiculousness off it all. I held back a full out laugh...that is until you started sucking on your coffee. I was also sucking on mine but I blew mine across my monitors in hysterical laughter. No worries, no damage to the hardware. My brain on the other hand is damaged for life with your genius videos. THANK YOU for being informative, and at times a threat to my equipment, but, it's F'n "Wowzers" worth it.
i really really tried to make it through this video, but the whispering makes me go mental. so i'll go for the silent version with generated subtitbles and hope I get half of what you mean !
Coffee mug slurp factor 10/10
ooouh I got the tingles
I'm sure I'm not the first to say this but you are getting much creepier. Love your vids!
Imagine stumbling across this video and this is the first one from UB you see :D
thanks underbelly
Dope!
I'm thinking the sip at 2:56 came out as a big poot about an hour or two later. Thanks for the ear tingles as always UB
instead of limiting the overall master together causing distortion, it is a better practice using bus mastering. separating all of the frequency ranges and sending them to their own limiter , instead of sending all of the lows, mids and highs to one master channel fighting each other and being crowded, separate the frequency ranges by creating a pre-master track and making separate send busses for the lows, mids, highs and drums. by sending all of the frequencies separately to their own bus and having their own limiter, you're giving them their own personal space to become even louder. you'll have a way cleaner mix and an easier master.
How is this accomplished? I don't know of a way to separate sounds by frequency. Surely it's not just a combination of low and high pass filters is it?
@@stormblessed9455actually, it’s exactly filtering. you can create them manually with basic filtering tools that come with your DAW, you also may use some 3rd party solutions, such as Multiband by Blue Mangoo that designed specifically for the freq splitting or use other multiband processors (saturators/compressors/etc), such as FAC’s Bandit but exclusively the part that splits audio with no actual compression/saturation applied and send the resulting signal out to 3 separate groups/auxs/buses for further processing.
basically all of these options provide frequency splitting using filtering and Q-adjustments to dial in for avoiding phase-related issues.
in regards of slopes and cross-points: 6db is the most phase-distortion-free slope to use for that purposes, 12db is the one that’s mostly-good-enough option with the phase shift and distortion low enough not to cause any issues, higher - such as 18db/24db and above will most likely cause problems at the frequencies of the cross-points.
@zufi422 at the same time, i’ve got a question for you - how do you treat the resulting output signal (overall master output after 3 separate limiters) clipping caused by overlapped signal at the cross-points. say, you split the audio at the premaster stage into 3 bands - filtered low/mid/high with 6db/12db slope, applied a limiter to each one of them and sent the buses to output - there’ll certainly be ovelaps in 3 signals that will cause the output to the level above digital zero. i wonder how you address this particular issue. ‘cause the overall concept makes sense judging on how multiband compressor usually adds clarity to the mastering chain, i can see why there’s a point in using “multiband limiter”, but as of now, i can see several ways to tame the resulting clipping, so i wonder what did you find to be the best practice in regards to this technique yourself?
how would you even go about accomplishing this?
amazin
dope song thanks for the tips

Wowzers
I’m not sure why I’m watching all your videos but I can’t seem to help myself . I use an MPC….. but I’m liking your awkward Bob Ross style delivery. Haha good stuff man.
Legend 💯💥

the bread got me - a fitting tribute to Vangelis
Next time can we get a binaural tutorial so I can hear your beautiful voice spin around my head?
wooooowwwwwwzzzzzzeeerrrssss!
Great tips as usual. Imma go out on a limb and say maybe not for all styles though.
❤️ UNDERBELLY
The Stifmeister is backkkk!!
When I do that digital clip thing it distorts the high frequencies in the side channels, how do i stop that?
TKM underbelly, you are our mentor
When adding a saturator to the drop drums and cranking up the drive, how does it not distort the living fuck out of the kick? lol im trying to apply these same concepts and my stuff sounds like shit. I can choose waveshaper instead of digital clip and it doesnt distort but is that achieving the same effect?
how this guy doesnt have millions of subs is beyond me. This is silky af
your awesome dude
That’s some colorful ass riddim
Wait how can I listen to that Swimming Pools Color Bass track that was 🔥
Tryna figure out that too lol
So cool!! and funny asf!!
gave actual sauce whilst maintaining that underbelly comedic flair, thanks again dad
Am I missing something? Adding saturator just distorts whatever I put it on with the exact same settings you're using.
it sounds too distorted when I try to copy your saturator method with the digital clip and drive+ and output - volumes
There is this one video i can’t find where
You write a nice chord progression with extensions!
This dude really got a halcyon release with a sine wave
how ironic im running into this problem currently
I laughed so hard, thank you
This was the first and last ASMR video I'll ever watch. Unless you make another one
I be learning and laughing at the same time
Heyo, I've been producing for almost 10 years & still suck. So thank you for helping me suck less! But, I was wondering how & if I should be adjusting the ratio/freq at all when using the ghost sc, or does it make things worse? ILYHAGS
the way you said "a little bit of that goes a long way" sounded nice with the music. it should be added to the track later in a remaster
time stamp?
