Okay first of all, I think Triple H knew Vince was up to some extramarrital shenanigans, and he probably thought it was wild. But I doubt he knew the full extent of it.
That being said, what exactly did people expect him to say? Like everyone says he did poorly, but how was he supposed to answer better. If he just denies any knowledge and even supported Vince, the public is mad at him. If he is to conciliatory and endorses the accusations, it might hurt his family (ie, his wife and kids). HBK and Cody can answer it more straightforward because they aren't related to the man. They don't have to walk the tight rope of risking upsetting the public or their family. No shit they can answer the questions better.
HHH was pretty straight-laced by all accounts. He probably knew somethings but i think its a bit unfair for anyone (not saying you said this) to expect him to do anything.

If you watched wrestling in the early 2000s, there was a rumor that Taker pretty much told Vince he isn't into "that stuff". A lot of people back then speculated it was gay stuff, but it could've been using women too, who knows.

TNA/NXT cross-over would be amazing.
It’s about the same level in kayfabe terms I think tna wrestlers would be more likely to pin nxt wrestlers and vice versa. Could be 50/50 compared to main roster, where it simply just wouldn’t be the case.
I see a lot of comments saying that people like Shawn had to know what Vince was doing. If that is the low bar that we are setting for evidence than you need to apply it to the dirt sheets. There is NO WAY that Dave Meltzer didn't know what Vince has been doing since the 80s. Meltzer is the keeper of secrets.

That said, if he heard something and reported it before the plaintiff(s) started their case, then the Observer would likely be sued and lose.

How did Dave Meltzer not know anything about this? He has dedicated his life to wrestling journalism. He has talked to everyone in the industry for the last 30 years and has sources everywhere.
I imagine this is something you wouldn't tell a wrestling journalist and I doubt many in the company knew exactly what was happening.

Well, she hadn't really developed much in the ring while there, but she also, iirc, had a major knee injury at some point & I've seen multiple people mention that her knee might be too fucked for her to wrestle on a consistent basis, and that's why she's become an authority figure.

The match of hers that I watched was painful, she was bad, and apparently didn't got better, so they put her on a pro-wrestling role that doesn't involve ring work
I think the RF shoot interviews were awful and they made money off stars of the past that were clearly in a horrible place, some of them going through serious drug and alcohol problems at that time

The difference is the victim is accusing Vince of doing these crimes and is taking legal action against him. The accusations about Shawn comes from a wrestler in a shoot interview, in which many wrestlers have used for the sole purpose of becoming relevant again.

Triple H's statements were fine. What exactly did you expect him to say? There's an investigation currently going on. And remember, he has superiors. We don't know what they told him to AND not to say. He needs to be incredibly careful about what he says. It's also not like it won't all be discussed later adnauseum. Remember, this press conference was about the Rumble. Focus on that.

The conference was on the rumble but did anyone genuinely have questions about the rumble on their mind priorotizing the rumble over the Vince stuff, like lets be fr did anyone going into the presser from the fans to the staff and wrestlers have their first thoughts belong to the rumble and not what could be asked about Vince and Johnny Ace? The fact Cody and HBK could offer up more direct responses , and I refuse to believe a note or message wasn't also given to people like HBK and the roster folk like Cody on how to address this similar to how HHH would've gotten, is kinda crazy. I get there's stuff with HHH , like familial ties with Vince being the grandfather to his kids, but it still says a bunch when you get more direct answers from seemingly almost everyone else that had been asked.
Cody's was better because it was direct, measured and respectful. Trip's however might as well have said "look at all the money we're making", which is hardly appropriate given the nature of the question. No comment would have been better.
Cody handled the questions better than HHH and HBK. So much so that someone might give him HHH's job at some point - especially if somehow HHH/Micheals get roped into McMahon's issues.

Shawn's past has been brought up before. These Vince allegations also include other WWE personnel, including Laurinaitis and Lesnar. It's no surprise that other wrestlers who were close to Vince may find themselves implicated in his alleged wrongdoings.
Michaels was protected by Vince for some reason. No other wrestler was allowed to get away with the stuff he did.. Personally I believe it had more to do with Pat Patterson protecting him. And Pat was one of Vince's right hand men. Plus Pat himself had a very shady history and probably knew a lot of Vince.. And let's be honest. Shawn was a pretty boy and Pat loved them pretty boys..

Ill say this, Shawn, like most wrestlers at the time, absolutely would have done what we now consider harassing women in the 1990s in WWF. Back then, it wasn't so much described as harassing women so much as just asshole jock cocky type guys flirting and being a little too touchy. I graduated high school in 2005 and I always saw guys grabbing an ass or a boob to flirt back then. So you can't go back to 20-30 years ago and say oh, what he did was ok then but it's not ok now, let's all attack/cancel/sue him! But I assume Shawn was a wild one and did a lot of that stuff that was OK back then, but wouldn't fly today.
Unless of course it was more than just touchy flirting, and any kind of things like Vince is accused of took place. It's a different era, what once was playful is now sexual assault. I kind of feel bad for younger kids who will grow up always having to be afraid to ask a girl out or say something flirty... it's probably why more young men than ever, AND WOMEN TOO, are single and not even looking, and just sitting on their computers/phones indoors all day. Everyones afraid to be cancelled. And the people who deserve it like Vince, get away with it their whole fucking life!
Wrestlers like Shawn had women lining up to have sex with them back in the 80s and 90s. The women were essentially abusing themselves. That's not the same as what Vince allegedly did - grooming, trafficking, and intimidating women into having sex with him.
