Yes you nailed it, I believe total WNBA salaries is around $17million and I have seen projections of charter flights being, you guessed it, around $17 million. Sounds like a reasonable estimate, a charter one way can be $40k, round trip $80k, so 6 (traveling teams) x 36 (games) x $80k (round trip) = $17.2 million.
Plus what about their carbon footprint 😅

The way the WNBA has handled the WHOLE Clarke phenomenon is embarrassing. How can you allow YOUR employees (players) to time after time flat out run down your new product that could immediately double or triple your company's worth? And APPLES employees saying, "well, its good for Brazil but its got a long way to go before it beats the new trac phone! It is literally the same thing. Even Isiah Thomas admitted he was lying for years when he told the world throughout the 1990s he believed Michael Jordan was the goat because he still had former teammates and friends who worked in the nba that were making money off Michael's success in the nba, so he lied to keep that gravy train going. It wasn't until lebron was drafted that he finally told the truth about how he never believed that and how he believed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was the goat. Personally, I think Michael Jordan is the goat, but I can't fault Isiah Thomas for lying for decades like that because he's a smart businessman. He knew the business aspects of the nba better than most people. These ladies could learn a lot from him.

The Fever preseason home debut is on May 9. The next night, in the same arena, the Pacers host the Knicks in game 3 of the eastern conference semifinals. It will be interesting to compare the ticket prices and attendance.
The WNBA players just received a 53% pay raise this year. The NBA, which owns 50% of the WNBA was already subsidizing the women to the tune of $15 million dollars, which means the Women's league is going to have to up it's game in order to bring in more money, or it'll be irrelevant whether they fly charter or not. That will only speed things along.
PS: I don't know how much the WNBA's operating budget is, but $15 million sounds like a lot of money.

I watched Iowa because of Caitlin Clark. I kept watching because I enjoyed all the players on the team. I hope the players in the WNBA make it the same enjoyable experience in future games when on tv in my area.

As someone in the industry almost all of those tickets are owned or given to people who resale or go to the game. This is why I say that nba and nfl are tax right offs for the other corporations. It’s also an investment to take clients out to ball games. I would constantly be entertaining people who think they are better than us peasants at these events. Only poor people pay for expensive tickets, the rest of them are given to influencers, owned by corporations, or family of players.

The NBA is just above Mens soccer,Womens soccer and the WNBA. The Kentucky Derby / Triple Crown are more exciting. Men's and Women's Hockey as well as MLB. The NFL and College football far more exciting. I am 70 todays NBA is not the one I grew up with. Give me Bob Lanier, Nate Thurmond, Jabbar, Dr.J, 3 Oscars Jerry West and John McGlocklin. Plus many more over these clowns. Half of them belong in a police line-up.
