Mkay, just made this wonderful soup but added a few changes. Doubled the garlic, (prolly just our personal taste), added a chopped apple 🍎 for sweetness, lil maple syrup, 1/2 tsp turmeric, and some smoked applewood sea salt! Whoa 😮 it’s amazing! Side of rice 🍛 finished it off.

LaDolcevita I bought it from the grocery store made by Frontier brand. Wow, it makes a lot of things richer, tastier yet not overly salty.
I would eat this all year long, but it's especially good in the fall and winter when evenings are chilly and you want something other than chili....

I made this last night, was definitely yummy but I had to cook the lentils for 60 minutes and they were still kind of hard. In thinking about it, I think that the tomato paste & lemon juice affected the cooking (just like it kept my beans from fully cooking in the baked bean recipe from this channel).
Advice from the Rancho Gordo bean web site. "If you want to add tomatoes or acids like lime or vinegar, wait until the beans are cooked through......adding salt (or acids like tomatoes and vinegar) too early in the cooking process prevents the beans from getting soft. We find this especially true with older beans."
I made this yesterday. It was good but I think when I make it again I will omit the lemon juice and I will add mushrooms.
Just made it- its GOOD! I put a little braggs aminos for saltiness in my bowl. I didn't have any all-spice (boo)
Thanks for the recipe. Made this twice now. I think it's great, and my wife likes it so much that she asked me to make it again. I've also been trying to figure out how to get more amla and black cumin into my diet (per Dr. Greger), and the amla is so bitter that it's been hard to eat. But this soup has enough flavor to hide the amla. So I may start making this as an amla delivery medium. Now if I could just figure out some way to eat more beets...
That’s a great idea. We absolutely love to eat beets by pressure cooking them for 13 minutes in the Instant Pot, drizzle balsamic on them and eat them with hummus 👍 Yum!

This looks so delicious, however, I'm allergic to most legumes (lentils, chickpeas, all other peas..) so any tip what I could substitute the lentils with?

This looks gorgeous, thing is I hate sweet potatoes, can I sub it for half or a whole butternut squash? Also I get my tomato puree in a tube so how many tablespoons would that amount to? Thank you 💖

I had to watch the video, as the written online recipe looks like you add 16 ounces of tomato paste, which seemed excessive. However, after watching the video, it would appear you meant 1 x 6 oz can.

I haven’t made it in the Instant Pot but I’m sure it will work. Throw everything in and cook it 15 min on high pressure 👍
