If anyone is wondering, if I'm correct, one driver suffered broken vertebrae but made a full recovery and is back to racing, all other drivers suffered only minor injuries. I believe all the horses were fine as well.
Julie Bell let me make this very simple for you..these 2yo pacing fillies were making their 1st..2nd..or 3rd starts for money..they are INEXPERIENCED!!!They do NOT know what to do when they are tired or bad gaited..in some instances they get tangled up in the hobbles and fall..not pretty...but it happens...
@@markrocovich2234 LET ME MAKE THIS VERY SIMPLE 4 U > WHY SO HARSH TO JULIE BELL ? SHE ONLY STATED THE TRUTH ! INEXPERIENCE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE 5 GOING DOWN !! HE BROKE, GOT TANGLED, AND WENT DOWN THE SAME AS A 10 YEAR OLD WOULD !!!
Their called Hobbles, and usually a driver spots that prior to race. As a former driver at Saratoga, I have seen my share of wicked accidents, and been in a few. That one was called a wipe out.
@@unclebillmusic uh huh...but you will see the same thing happen with trotters , which don't have hobbles. mark is correct and his response is irritation at people who are commenting because they see 1 video and have no knowledge or understanding of harness racing.
Nope. Just someone who worked as a state inspector and have seen the horrible things that these horses a subjected to. Yeah, they're meant to run until they break a coffin bone or blow their heart out - I'm sure they love that
Sooo....you wanna burn it all down because of a bad spill? That's like me taking a nuclear bomb to my apartment to kill a fly. Sure the fly will be dead, everybody else also would not be well off.
janet fox Here are the facts, seeing that YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY CLUELESS...These were 2 year olds making the initial starts in their careers...the horse on top was tired, got tangled up in her hobbles and fell, causing the incident..yes it was ugly, it was spectacular..The two drivers that were hurt the worst were Jack Flanigen and Ray Fisher Jr...They both got banged up pretty good, but left the hospital within 36 hours..Find something relevant to complain about, then you will have a clue...

This was no ordinary overnight event...It was a NYSS division for 2yo pacing fillies for almost 65K..
There is no way these horses are 2-year olds.
@@KFrost-fx7dt How much money do you want to lose..I will happily bet you 1k to prove you wrong...You want the bet???
@@markrocovich2234 no. I'm talking about how big they are. Their legs are like tree trunks.
And if they really are 2-yo then this is abuse.
@@KFrost-fx7dt yes they are.
@@KFrost-fx7dt they are Standardbreds they are more heavily built than thoroughbreds. So they look thicker.
that horse broke stride and because of the straps around its legs it tumbled.

2 year olds should not be racing, they are still growing.
Até quando que vai continuar acontecendo isso é um crime totalmente perigoso eu acho que é muitos competidores numa pista só

Im Aqueduct Customer from Bronxtown NYC.
Do you get high at the track? Aqueduct and NYC racing sucks. See Mayor Communist
Thats why this crap needs to be banned. Horse abuse
Take a nap and let the adults handle it. Horses were meant to run. You must be a liberal hater.
