Steve Albini is a legend and I genuinely admire his principled non-corporatist ethos regarding how he works and charges for his time. For all of the now infamous albums he has recorded, there are many stories of now iconic bands who ended up re-recording somewhere else after leaving his studio. Those are always interesting stories because it's like... Really? You weren't happy with a Steve Albini recording? Interesting. Thanks for posting.
I know right? Steve's mixes for In Utero were maybe not destined to sell Nevermind-level numbers, but they were sooo much more appropriate for what the band actually sounded like.
I NEED this documentary
Can’t wait. Favorite band ever. Saw em I’m 94 and 95. Can’t believe I have a chance to see them again.
"I'm sorry I don't know any Jawbreaker songs." HA.
jumpbreaker songs
classic albini aloofness
excellent band. can't wait for the show and of course this doc to come out.
Can't wait for this; I got excited before even knowing someone involved with American Movie helped produce this and now I'm even more hyped.
Going to watch this purely for Steve Albini if nothing else.
RIP Steve Albini
This is great!
Nice Velano Steve. It could even be the one Keith Levene used on the fisrt Public Image record
