Hi, I'm Dr. SaxLove, and I know from quite vast experience that there's nothing like settling in in front of a warm and toasty fireplace. Add some good soft jazz music, the right companion(s), and the smoke and/or drink of your choice... well, that's just a little slice of heaven, isn't it?
The music in this video "Fire" are songs that I like to refer to as "pop jazz" - they're pop tunes that I've rearranged as smooth jazz tunes. I've combined the music with the sound of a toasty fireplace and the combination is quite delicious indeed.
The first 6 songs on this video are Motown favorites from my album "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" (markmaxwellmus.... These songs have a very distinct vibe to them: funky but smooth, romantic but not drippy. I especially love this version of "Just My Imagination" because it captures a certain essence that I just can't get enough of.
The next two songs, "You Are My Lady" and "Ain't No Woman (Like The One I Got)" are from my album "Dance With Me" (markmaxwellmus...) an album which, by the way, features a picture of Mrs. SaxLove and I on the cover taken on the beach in Malibu, CA. These songs, too, are from the Motown songbook but are from a different recording session that took place in Los Angeles.
Finally, "Love Me Do" and "I Wanna Be Your Man" are taken from my "Imagine" album (markmaxwellmus...) which is my sax tribute to the Beatles. I'm a life-long Beatles fan-atic and I hope you can hear the love and respect and joy I feel for these songs.

Fire is a powerful force in the reality of humanity, not only for it's raw energetic physical presence, but also for the deep meaning that it has come to symbolize for us. Fire represents knowledge, light, life, and rebirth. It reminds us that Mother Nature is giving and nurturing, but can also be destructive and deadly beyond imagination.
This fire, though, is friendly, warm, and inviting. Sit back and enjoy, and know that all is well in the world.

I can never really understand why folks give this music a thumbs down. On the other hand, I don't linger on it. One thing I've learned in my 62 years on Earth - things are rarely what they seem. So who knows? People have their reasons. Anyway, your advice is good, Doug - lay back, relax, let the music take you somewhere delicious. Why not? It's free! 😀
I gave thumbs up, but have you considered it might not be the music? If I want to unwind, to truly relax I have to skip the first hour and its half dozen commercials. If unwinding isn't an issue and I don't mind commercials I can watch tv. Just a thought.

Dr SaxLove I agree, and that's certainly the most difficult thing to reach with a wind instrument. It what gives you your musical personality. A life time challenge !
