Lol! Nice!❤️
I really like the front home landscaping. Hoping you have some ideas with raised bed gardens including sheds and a green house❤
I like how you give the principles of the designs so we can use the ideas in our own way.
Thank you.👍🏼

Can you do a video on what things will look like in winter? Showing height of elements, color, pathways that would be plowed from snow? Or get photos from customers of their snowy landscape areas?
Not a bad idea. YES!!!

Heck yes! Hello India. Keep working at it. I am always looking for good designers to help me.😃
This is the stuff I love to see you do. I'm in the middle of doing my front landscaping from scratch. I've ripped EVERYTHING out and started blank but don't have the creative mind like you do. The work is not the issue, it's the idea's. HELP me Obi Wan!
I’m so glad you’re here! Got another video like this coming this Friday.👍🏼
Moving to a one acre lot soon so this has been super helpful.
Awesome! Good luck.👍🏼

Hello from MI 6a. Your content is so great...very helpful and inspiring!
Thank you so much! I also live in 6a so many of the designs I show should be a big help. ❤️
Love number one the best but I do have a two story and a huge yard. It gets very overwhelming. I spot at a time. 😊
Thank you for the comment! I should have some 2 story videos coming out soon! Stay tuned!
Nice video. Now, I've got a real challenge for you. How about a design for the Dallas North Texas suburbs?
Our pH is around 8.0. Temperatures can fluctuate from around 105 in the summer to near 0 in the winter. We get a ton of rain in the spring and then nothing between 4th of July and Labor Day. The most common grass is Bermuda which goes dormant in the winter and also if it does not get enough water in the summer. Thanks.
I get those areas a decent amount. Happy to help you create a drought tolerant design.
Love your designs!
Thank you Wendy!❤️❤️❤️
Hey, so I'm in Central California (near the village of Coarsegold, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains near Yosemite), and an avid follower even though your landscape designs are for a different climate zine. I started landscaping with a combination of drought-resistant California native plants, plus some Mediterranean plants (whatever the deer and rabbits don't eat). All of your landscape advise can be applied to other zones like mine if one understands the basics. Thanks for all you do!
Thank you so much! Your zone sounds BEAUTIFUL!!!
Love your videos!

I like your idea. I've been learning a lot.
Thank you for the comment! Glad to meet you!
Very interesting and helpful!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for the comment!
I’m in Cary. lol love your designs!
Yay! Thank you! Hello Cary!!!
Saint Paul, Minnesota. Great video, as always. My comment is to consider adding, alongside the DIY vs. hire-out costs, what the ongoing maintenance costs would be DIY vs. hiring out that work. It would also be cool on the maintenance side to share TIME, not just dollars...warm seasons X design here would cost you 2-3 hours a month of keeping everything in shape, and about $200 in remulching per year. That sort of thing would be super helpful. I'm also curious how it works along driveways and sidewalks in snow season, if people accidently ruin their landscaping with their shovels/snow plows. I just know landscaping shifts and requires work, as I'm flashing back to awful memories of being a small girl having to help rebuild up the small rock landscaping. :-)
Great suggestion! I’ll try and incorporate some maintenance tips in an upcoming video! *time and costs
Great video. Hello from Indiana.
Thank you! I almost went to IU!
Loved all the beds! I’ve lived in a handful of states you’ve designed for; FL, MO, OH, and Im watching from Upstate NY! 👏🏼
Love this video and landscaping ideas!
My current yard was blank and now I’ve got a DIY knee-wall address design, large garden beds flanking down my driveway, many plants of winter interests (I even scooped up the soft touch hollie’s from Lowe’s when I first saw them 😂, and lights for my “investments!”
If I could, I’d so hire you and your team to possibly do my (possible) future home in zone 9a (Vegas area) 🥵😂
This is a lot of work (I enjoy it though) but always look forward to your videos and my yard is not like my neighbors now 😊 … dare I say, it has a bit of “Bobby K Designs” flare?
I just need LARGER BOULDERS! 🪨 🤣
I LOVE Vegas! Going there in August to see The Killers at Caesar’s! I would love the opportunity to design for you! I have created a few designs for Las Vegas homes.👍🏼
Bobby K you do a great job and I always enjoy seeing you do these yards. I can't wait till every Friday to see what is new you have to offer
That’s awesome! Thank you so much!❤️

HI from Omaha! I live on a corner and really appreciate the ideas here. Can you do a video for styling a mailbox? Thanks!
Definitely! I’ll throw something in this weeks video.
I saw "big beds" in the title and thought I could learn something I needed to learn for upcoming project. But I'm considering big island bed and wondering, how big is too big? Didn't get my answer here. But enjoyed your video and suggestions, as always!
Hey there! Thank you for the comment! In order to answer your question, use the principles I thought you in the first design. Get out a hose or some spray paint and map out the area. Then step back and take a look. You’ll be able to tell what you think it is too big or too small. It’s different for everybody.
Hi Bobby, from Rapid City SD. Finding plants, trees that survive our winters are hard. I’ve lost 3 trees in the last 2 yrs that were newly planted. I look for plants in zones 3/4 even though the zone map says 5. Roses struggle here. I like your designs, my front yard needs some help.
Planting in cold zones is difficult. Evergreens of various colors are usually a safe option BUT I will see what I can come up with in upcoming videos. Thank you for sharing!
Mid West Girl, here!
Thanks again for the great video, Bobby!

Hello. St. Louis homeowner.
Hey there! STL REPRESENT!
Northern MO, #1. Also really liked #3. Question: keeping up on renewing mulch in large beds as well as around tress is very time consuming. What if any ground covers do you recommend for under tress to help limit mulch? Zone 5 hardy perennial or evergreen
Hey there fellow Missourian! Great question. Baltic Ivy could work. Ferns would look nice and take up space. Periwinkle could be an option. Flats of ground cover do take time to spread but they are a nice look when mature. Thank you for the comment!❤️
Love your video and I need your help!!

Hello Greenville, SC! I am taking my family to Myrtle Beach, SC in August! Love SC!
The second house looks like my house and yard. I live in Ohio.
Love it! Hello Ohio!!!❤️❤️❤️
Keep up the good stuff Bobby! Your St Louis pricing always kills me. So different from Bluffton/ Hilton Head, SC. We are at least 2.5x higher on most of your budgets…except the rocks…we dont have any rocks here unless they are trucked in from a couple states over.
I have an idea about offering guest designers in for some collaborations. A melding of the minds…what do you say?
Love it! Happy to learn more about pricing in other states and Other designers input is a great idea. Let me noodle on it and figure out a cool way to do so.👍🏼
Hello from Memphis, TN! My favorite was #1. I’d like to add some large boulders to my DIY landscape beds. Do landscape or supply yards deliver these??
I love me some boulders! Absolutely! You should have some awesome boulders to choose from in TN.😃
Great design ideas. I have an area in front of my house that is on a slope. I am thinking of transplanting some lirope to other side of the yard near my neighbors driveway. I want them to be able to still get out of their car and walk on it without it being a hinderance. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am also in St. Louis, Missouri as you are.
Nice! Hey there! I’m in south county (Lindbergh area). Liriope…YES! Great idea to fill space, looks good, and it’s hard to kill. Great idea!
Hi from Oregon. I have trouble getting anything to stay alive under our huge fir trees. I’m assuming soil PH, roots and shade is my problem. Love your videos 🥰
Hey Oregon! Those fires! Esh
From Columbus, Indiana. Another great video as always! My question is, for people who might want a large bed around their house but don't want to deal with plants in the ground for easier maintenance... what would be your recommendation? Large decorative stones, glass and metal art focal points?
Hey there! One thing I didn’t mention in this video is that just because you have large beds doesn’t mean they have to be full of plants. It would be ways to put in multiple focal points, and then just have lots of space for mulch or decorative stone as the filler. You can always add to those beds in the future. That way the cost is down and the maintenance.

I’m from Massachusetts and have a large yard (about an acre I think) that is a constant struggle. I know it’s because I don’t have a good base design so I’m constantly planting and moving things. And nothing ever looks the way I expect. What is the cost for a landscape plan? Thanks for the awesome videos! 😊
This is where ZONES comes into play and is so important for maintenance/time. I would LOVE to help you! I create 3D designs all over the country, many in MA, and would be happy to help you! www.bobbykdesigns.com
Do you think you can make a video about landscaping for parkstrips (the small area of land between roads and sidewalks in a yard)? What would you do to make it maintenence-free and have the design tie into the design of the rest of the yard (especially for a corner lot)?
I'm from the northern Utah area.
Absolutely! Most of the time grass makes the most sense but I have some ideas! Hello Utah!
@@BobbyKDesigns I've been wanting to update the parkstrips by my place for quite some time (there's one front of the yard and another to the side). The strip to the side is on a slope and can make mowing difficult (plus obstacles like a fire hydrant and mailbox). I've thought about filling it with rocks and boulders (maybe a paver next to the mailbox), but I don't want it to standout differently from the yard. That then gave me an idea to incorporate some of those rocks by the house and other areas of the yard.
If you like a challenge and want to use my place as an example, I can probably email you the address to see on Google maps or send you some pictures. I love the location, but the landscape could use some tlc!
@@achristabynon shoot me an email and I’ll see. 👍🏼
Hello from Fort Wayne, Indiana. I love your videos and always get new ideas. What is the software that you use in your videos? And is there anything free or cheap that you’d recommend? Thank you!!!

EAST TEXAS ZONE 8B
Hey there! Hot zone!
What are your thoughts on garden islands in the middle of a lawn? I haven't seen many in your videos. Do you think they are a bad idea?
I’m not a fan
Unless they are covering up a utility of some sort
@@BobbyKDesigns Thanks for the reply. I put an island next to my living room window so I could look out on something other than grass. Are you not a fan because they look unnatural? I could turn the island into a big beautiful bed as its very close to the driveway as opposed to the middle of the lawn
@@Randy_with_a_Y IMO try look out of place most of the time but that doesn’t mean it can’t work. If it’s close to an existing bed, I like the idea of combining the two.❤️
