I had worries man. I finally got my crush, Chasity, to go on a date to the fair and she wants me to win her a Guns-n-roses mirror at the dart station. Super nervous! Also, I'm really hoping my parents come through and get me that new Mongoose BMX bike for my birthday. And I'm making Chasity a mixed tape so please, please, please let the radio station play the songs I need and not talk during the beginning. I also got the boys coming over for a sleepover and we're playing capture the flag in the yard, but we're playing against our neighborhood rivals, the Floyd brothers. Bt you know what? I'm EXTREMELY grateful for the internet, despite the negatives. The VHS videotape effect on the image is the ultimate touch of class. I was 7 yo here and I still remember that summer as if it was the day before yesterday... I learned how to go on a bicycle, how to swim and how to have fun as a lucky and loved kid. Wonderful times

95-97 for me, was 5-7yo, my parents were still together, we lived simple ,stable, optimistic life, warm summer nights, echo of my parents talking in another room, while im playing in my room with my toys :) such a nice core memory

People have a habit of saying that in the past, things were better, easier, and simpler. This is partly due to a sense of nostalgia (and I include myself in that). However, don't be fooled: things have always been difficult. What has changed, in my view, is that we, the people, were simpler, easier to deal with for the most part. This, consequently, made the difficult situations and challenges of life easier to handle.
Nostalgia is indeed a powerful drug. Life was, objectively speaking, simpler and easier to deal with. And while I long for simpler times, I often have to remind myself that a complex, more interconnected world isn't the enemy. Sure, the internet and social media make life more complicated and anxiety-inducing, but I certainly wouldn't be able to find gems like this video and all of the people commenting underneath in the simpler times.
Life was better back then because like you mentioned, people were easier to deal with but I believe the 90s while having been born in 1994 myself were better because we weren’t as connected as now but when we connected it felt like joy. We got together to watch movies which is better than doing streaming from a distance for the same movie. Music was better. People put their heart into it I don’t see that anymore. The economy was better, buying a house was easier, jobs were plentiful, stock market soared. People built relationships unlike now where our instant gratification culture has made relationships mostly a thing of the past for far too many. Going to the movies was an event unlike today. I went to see Deadpool recently and I didn’t feel the excitement that you did back then for movies.

@@babymurcielaga electronic music evolution is out of the question. It’s actually been around us since the early 1920’s. What I’m saying is that Synthwave videos are normally 1980’s themed and now you’re transitioning them to the 90’s and that’s cool.
