- This was a fun experiment! Which canvas and paint brand do you like best? I am sticking with Amsterdam Brand paints, but the Artist Loft Black Acrylic paint surprised me! Next I will be doing a floetrol + water experiment, and then a floetrol + gloss medium experiment! Hope you found this video useful. Hope you enjoy the video! Thank you so much for watching. Happy painting!
In GRAMS, each of these paints took about 47-50% water for these colors
I am so happy that i found acrylic pouring/fluid art a few years ago. It has helped me in so many ways and it just keeps getting better and better. This visual arts creative outlet has made me so happy. I am loving this abstract art! I hope to keep doing this for years to come! I have always been fascinated by modern and contemporary art. There is something about it that is so freeing and expressive. I love acrylic pouring because i get to experiment and really join the creative side of my brain with the scientific part! There are so many different fluid acrylic pouring techniques out there, so much more to try and have fun with. Make sure you are subscribed to my channel so that you may learn and be creative with me. I love hearing all of your comments. I definitely would love to see more comparisons like this - I learn so much! Thank you!
I'm so glad!
I only discovered fluid art recently but I love it. These videos comparing different methods/mediums are so great for learning about how things work and what I can change in my own paintings to make them better. Love the videos :-)
I'm so glad!
I like the comparisons thank you for sharing . I LEARN SO MUCH FROM YOU!!
Thank you Molly for doing this experiment to help us who need it, I hope more artists do this, not many of them do. I know some people don't like the longer videos because they don't have a very long attention span but I love them because they are so very helpful and people can learn so much from them. I been doing flouid art for about 4 years now and I am still learning, I believe we all are no matter how long we been doing it for there is always more to learn.
so true!
I loved and so appreciate this video. You explained everything so clearly. Thank you Molly!!!
very informative..I appreciate you
Wow. These colors on the black base are absolutely stunning. 😍🤩😍🤩👏👏
I 💯 appreciate the time and effort you put into your “teaching” videos. You helped me grow sooo much, so fast when I first started, thanks to this style of video! 🥰 Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Awesome - this is going to be very interesting. I was using just water for a while and certainly found it different with different label paints AND colors! Fantastic idea Molly.
This was great Molly. I really appreciate the experiment. Look forward to see more. The Amsterdam and Artist Loft paintings came out beautiful.
I love the Amsterdam Lamp Black shiny finish. It's so helpful to know these things Molly. Thank you.
Thank you, Molly. This video was really helpful. It’s so kind of you to take the time to make these videos. Really appreciate it. 🥰
Thank you Molly. This experiment was quite eye opening. I generally use Artist loft for my base, but usually mix it with Floetrol and water and sometimes use a pouring medium. Looking forward to your upcoming video experiments.
Thank you Molly that was so informative. I love the first two. I would like to see the fourth one used as you say, as the cell activator. 👍
# 1 and 2 are the best. Lamp black for sure! Thank you for sharing your experiences with your viewers.
Great examples, thank you. I love watching your experiments.

What a great experiment! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this for us. This video is very helpful. I recently purchased a bunch of Creative Inspirations colors and now I know to mostly use them for thicker pours. I’m looking forward to seeing the experiment with floetrol and water, and then the experiment with Creative Inspirations gloss medium. Would love to see you do a thicker paint pour using the creative Inspirations brand. Thanks again for sharing!💕
Glad it was helpful!

I love this!!!
Love you too Molly. 😊 Thanks for the video
Yes the experiment is great thanks so much.looki g forward to the others.
Awesome, thank you!
Molly this was such a helpful video! Thank you! I’m STILL struggling with the black, red, white and silver piece that I spoke to you about, months ago! Also, I’ve found using a pipette to make the “blob” for your drip test, works really well to “blob” the same amount. They’re cheap and I can reuse them as long as they’re cleaned out right away. Thank you again for the experiment videos! Much love, Treesie 💐💖💐
Hi treesie! Dang you are still having trouble? What is happening when you make the painting? Great idea on the pipette!
@@MOLLYSARTISTRY YES!! Molly, I can NOT tell you how many 24”x30” canvases I have bought and ruined, trying to get this painting right! The client (well, my brother in law) wants a black background with a HUGE red, silver and white flower blown out with very little negative space. No matter what brands I use, my reds end up turning a purple color and it’s just a mess! I want the reds to remain very vibrant but it’s like they mix with the black too much and just look muted. I can email you pictures of some, if that would help but I’d love ANY help/advice you could give!! I’m even more than happy to pay you for your time to help me conquer this painting! I appreciate you soo much and I ALWAYS get so inspired after watching your videos!! Thank you! Much love my friend, Treesie
Thank you for this video experiment. 3 out of 4 paintings are gorgeous.
You are so welcome!
Hi Molly, I am new and laid down my paints after experimenting with fluid art 25 years ago. Although I had no idea what I was doing, and now I am learning so much from you, Olga, & Rinske. I am taking your course too. I find you immensely inspirational, love your color combinations, and sharing your knowledge is a true gift to me. Thanks so much💕!
you are so welcome!
Such a good video - very interesting reactions from the different brands - more of these please as really helpful 🤞🥰
Thank you! Will do!
Thank you so much for this! Can't wait to learn more from you!!!
You are so welcome!

Thank you for your experiment! It is really helpful!
Glad to hear that!
I love the Amsterdam paints myself... Thank you for sharing ...this happen one time the black just came through and took over...
I have always used Artist loft for my base. I like this experiment thanks 😊 Molly
Molly, you are so talented. I started doing Acrylic pour after watching your videos. I am a healthcare worker. Painting become my stress relief. It really inspire me . Thank you for teaching me so many techniques.
you are so welcome!!!
Super helpful! Thank you.
You're welcome!
Love love love it. I will be forever grateful for every single mixing, comparison, how to, explanation, tutorial video that you’ve made. I remember watching your how I mix my paints video 10+ times when I started, then watched again the first 5ish times I mixed paint. I can’t tell you how many times I decide I going to try a new technique (new to me) and then I spend an hour+ watching your past videos of that technique before I try. my current one for that, is your starburst pattern. I’ve watched those 4 videos at least 3 times each in the last week. I’m doing something wrong, but I know I’ll get there eventually.
Anyway the point is I know I’m not the only one that goes back to watch things several times but even for those who only watch it once, I know they are getting tons of great info and walking away with so much value.
You’re a great teacher and your inspiration is limitless.
Thank you for everything.
you are so welcome! And thank you for sharing, I agree, rewatching the videos is often helpful
Very interesting! I'd love to see more like this!! Thanks!
More to come!

I’ve been using floetrol and water with Amsterdam, and just recently tried creative inspirations with just water. Interesting that it seems you might be doing the reverse! I have had a problem with Amsterdam metallics floating to the top. Maybe I need to make it a little thicker. I love these tutorials! Thank you so much!
Interesting!
