If Claire doesn't have much experience driving, I wonder if she will develop any different tendencies than other drivers who first learned in gasoline or diesel powered ICE vehicles? I'm very curious to learn how the prevalence of electric vehicles will affect new, younger drivers, if at all moving into the future.

My former driving instructor recently got a Nissan Leaf for her students. EVs are not all that different from combustion vehicles. I guess with the one exception of one pedal driving, but that’s pretty easy to get used to. As we electrify the passenger sector, it will be important to educate younger people on them. I would say by 2040-2050, most of the younger generation will be driving EVs

My old appartment had no Option for EV Charging, now that i moved I could install a charger (Cables are already prepared) if i replace my car, but for now it is reliable

In Australia we have yellow L plates that are mandatory to use while learning under supervision. They help identify new drivers so other drivers on the road can keep more distance and go around them. I personally remember when I was a learner and try to make them feel comfortable and not honk or get mad.

My daughter learned to drive in Los Angeles a few years ago and used a bright yellow "Student Driver" magnet sticker in the rear untilshe was comfortable. Other drivers are more forgiving and patient when they know someone is learning to drive. As for car, the standard range Model 3, like your loaner, would be a perfect first car and qualifies for the full $7500 federal rebate this year.

I did pretty good job. There was cars when I first drive a car. It was a 1985 or 1986 Ford Tempo. It was easy for me since my mother had a 1985 Ford Tempo. That did helped me to get used to the car a little bit. Even my father took me out driving around a parking lot of this junior college near us. I did pretty good in parking. I did sucked in the class and driving. I waited for almost 13 years for my license. My 1st car was a 1998 Ford Contour that I gotten in mid October 1999. I gotten my license in mid December 1999. I was 29 years old. I had different vehicles over the years. My current vehicle is a 2020 Ford Escape.

As someone with around a million miles of driving experience, I still make people mad daily by simply driving with a little sense. I often drive 10% over the limit and still make people angry wanting to run 85 in a 55. You do YOU. That impatient jerk behind you will get over it, I promise. YOU are the captain of your ship, and YOU are solely responsible for its safe operation. I promise that the extra thirty seconds you cost them getting to their destination will not change the course of your day, but your rushing might negatively change the course of yours.

Teslas are really safe. But volvos are safe as well. We have a Volvo V60. Been in one crash. No one was hurt. Car took that like a champ. Highly reccomend Volvos.

7:34 70MPH..... teaching your kid to speed first time on the highway, just fabulous parenting a pat on the back for you

First, Dan didn't teach Claire to speed, she backed off immediately after hitting 70. Second, 70 in a 65 is nothing compared to the gray EcoBoost mustang kid that deputy Sloup caught and arrested at 121 in a 50 on episode 92 of Fridays with Frank and the red jeep compass he locked in at 90 in a 50 in episode 73.

Claire's driving is quite good and better than everyone featured on fridays with frank.

Not sure if a Tesla is the best to teach driving with but good for some of the main fundamentals. Good job
