This is such a beautiful composition! I love the layering and the way it feels like a soft orchestral piece. Reminiscent of sleeping at last to me. I love it! Great work!
Sitting beneath that old tree out in the field, you reminisce on the past as large, white clouds slowly drift lazily across the open sky. Though your eyes are closed, you can feel the warm light of the sun cast itself between the leaves as it touches your face. The breeze is gentle today; the scattered dandelion seeds of the field are swept up in its gentle embrace as it carries with it the salty smell of the ocean from the west. It reminds you of that old promise you had made all those years ago as a child, that one day you and your best friend would go to see the ocean together and bring back the biggest shell you could find to remember it by.
You smile, thinking back fondly on those days. Days you left behind in your childhood, scattered and disorderly like an old scrapbook hastily put together with great care and love. Those cherished memories will forever remain close to your heart as you grasp for closure, closure which may or may never be found for you now. Though troubled, your heart remains unburdened and instead beats strongly in time with your hopes for the future. "Old memories are not meant to become a cage", or so they say- and you know it all too well. You lost sight of that for a while, but you found your path again and along that path you found real happiness.
Old friendships might never see the closure they deserve, but the memories made while those friendships were alive and well are there to comfort you in its absence, like an old friend to lean upon when you feel weary. Though you may have drifted apart all those years ago, the moments that you both made together are still real and very much alive within you and them alike; your parting needn't be one of sorrow.
Your eyes open slowly as a content smile finds its way upon your lips, and you take another deep breath before turning your gaze once again to the sky, grateful and fulfilled.
