I wanted the MJ vs Inoue fight too. But realistically Inoue has nothing left to prove at 122. Sam Goodman was supposed to be Inoue's final fight super bantamweight but Goodman decided to push the bout out further by fighting Worawut. TJ Doheny is the next mandatory fighter behind Goodman (at least in the WBO rankings), he's been on a 3 fight win streak in Japan with a great fan base, a former IBF world champion and this is probably the payday fight that Doheny could use to wrap up his solid a boxing career. I think this match making has more of Bob Arum fingers around it than Inoue's team tbh. I have Inoue knocking out Doheny in 2-3 rounds but this fight with Doheny is more of a quick intermission fight before the monster take on Goodman in December. The expectation is that Inoue will move up to featherweight early next year (April 2025) and probably go up against one of the top 2 fighters at 126. Bob Arum must be happy that the top 2 fighters + champions at featherweight are all under Top Rank (Lopez and Espinoza) so it'll be an easy match making. All I could say for the viewers is that if the fight is held in Japan (most likely Tokyo Dome = 55,000+ seats), we all get to watch it on ESPN+ for basically nothing. If the fight is held in America, Bob Arum and Inoue's promotion team will make it a PPV event but boxing fanatics will pay and even fly out to watch Inoue fight live.

I've seen TJ Doheny fight. Respectfully to him, this is not competitive. Goodman chose to take a tune up instead of Inoue, which is probably smart. It's also does me everything I need to know about that match-up too.
