    Dual air conditioning was almost a $700.00 option for these big wagons from Chrysler Corporation. Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth wagons and the Imperial LeBaron 4 dr Southampton were the only vehicles that offered dual air conditioning in the industry. This top of the line vehicle's MSRP most likely was about $4800 or more with this option.

    • @727100bear
      @727100bear Před 4 lety

      does this wagon have a power tailgate window? If so, I’m assuming the key insert is behind the chrome panel that the camera pans in on. Would seem odd that such a well equipped example would not have an electric rear window - notice the first generation tailgate assist handles on either side of the rear window - another Chrysler Corporation exclusive.

    • @emjayay
      @emjayay Před 4 lety +1

      @@727100bear The vertical rectangle is a crank. If it was a power window it would be horizontal with the keyhole in the center. Nine passenger wagons are supposed to have the power window standard. Did this car have a tail gate transplant at some time?

    Stunning, stunning, stunning! This is the most beautiful wagon I have ever seen. Dodge in 1960 really offered the customer a lot of value and style. This seems like it should be a Chrysler wagon, for all its luxury.

Disappointing… no mention of the interior doors or even a pan of them. Did the car have power windows or power seat? Swivel seats? Rare to see many options on a Dodge, but particularly factory air conditioning, and especially dual, rear air conditioning. Why no view of the engine compartment on this rare car? Would have loved to see the power plant. Would have been great to see how they divided the a/c lines to the 2 evaporators. Seems like so much was missed. A truly rare and gorgeous-style car! The optional dual AC was to get cold air to the third row (and some more for the second row too). Available in 1960-64 Chrysler product wagons with this body. Refrigerant hoses all the way from the front, another blower, evaporator - what the heck, just a couple hundred more pounds. Minivans and I guess other such vehicles have ducts down the sides of the roof and several vents, which is similar to some cars in the 50's with trunk AC only the other direction.
