Hey everyone! Thanks so much for the kind responses to the video. I’m always looking for new ideas so if there’s anything you’d like to see please let me know and be sure to subscribe so you know when I put out something new!! 💜
I would love to see a couple of random ideas...
1. a crochet fedora (for the "part hipster" in all of us!)
2. a cube shaped storage box, basically a dupe of the ikea storage baskets

I have a special request I have a friend named mickey and she asked me if I could possibly make her a mickey mouse bag. My idea was a crossbody flap bag. But I cannot find a pattern for such bag?

My daughter (22) will LOVE this! Thank you 💖
Ain't no way Miu Miu is charging $1500 for something I can make with yarn scraps during a college lecture
I saw a breakdown of the costs on a website that was selling the hat. Miu Miu’s cost is $35 for materials and $35 for labor. If you look inside the hat, all the ends are hanging out, even in the brim. You can see ends popping out when the model is wearing it. It’s shameful! I’ve owned Miu Miu shoes and clothing in the past. They were well made and much less expensive because I bought them in Italy. This hat costs about 40% less in Europe.
@@ErikaLaGrande I wonder how many hats they actually sold for that outrageous price? Not many, I'd think. And only $35 for labor? It would have taken some skilled worker at least several hours to make it. I'd crochet the ends in as I worked... an easy time saver and not so tedious as weaving them in and sure looks nicer than leaving ends hanging out!
We used to tell women not to give away their skills and to ask for monetary compensation for the items they make.
Miu Miu took that advice seriously!😁
Yarn + embroidery floss = BRILLIANT!!! Certainly a "why didn't I think of that" moment. Great tutorial - really well explained. Plan on giving this a try 🙂
Hey girl hey, thank you for sharing your talents with me. Loved the tips you gave on the brim increases, sizing, and help to get rid of scrap pieces of yarn. Like your personality especially when you encourage your self to get that hook through tight stitches.
Just wanted you to know I made the miu miu hat ,so far I got 3 complements on it. Thank you for helping me get rid of my scrap yarn.
Thank you & what a great way to use the embroidery floss!!
thank you, I love how my hat turned out!
This is wonderful. Just like you promised. I can’t wait to make it now. Thank you so much. It looks great on you.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I made my first bucket hat and it came out so cute !!

Thanks for sharing!
Glad to see you working in the front loop for the brim. You’re the first tutorial I’ve seen to use this technique. Good job on the hat. 🤩
Really wonderful tutorial

Love the tutorial!! Im a begginer and it was really helpful
Love this. So cute and so fun! I'm new-ish to crochet and I hate counting as well (I over use stitch markers without telling anyone so I don't have to count as hard lol) Subscribed! I'll have to check out the matching top for this too another day. Great job Emily!
Fawn 😊
Thank you so much for the pattern, I want to make one that it's out of stock (It's beige and white stripes) so this is really helpful ❤
So cute!
Hermoso, gracias por compartir!!
I love the suggestion of ending with a few slip stitches.

hi new subscriber here... I love making crochet project too :) I made miu miu's bucket hat..
Done. Thank you for the tutorial. Great work. Lovely product.
This is beautiful I wonder if all the colors of yarn were cotton? I would love to make this.❤️❤️ I have a LOT of yarn and never thought of using the Embroidery thread now I have something to buy and add to my yarn addiction 😜
Hi thanks you for your comment! Some of it is cotton, some is acrylic, some is a blend, I used any and all scraps I had in my closet😂 and the embroidery floss combo is so fun!! I’m trying to think of other projects to use it with
Vivement la jupe ! ❤
hi hi do u think it bad if u use different weight of yarns?
I just saw that Prada just came out with one also for 1,200! It’s crazy people would spend that much
Insane! I was looking at the Prada crochet market bags and thinking the same thing haha
Well they DO so make a fancy label & start planning your new wardrobe!🙂
Hi Emily! Can I use 4 ply acrylic yarn for this pattern? I'm going to try it, and see what happens. Thank you for this awesome tutorial.
Hi! You should be able to no problem, I used all different kinds of yarn in this one
Hi So wonderful Thank you so much for a great tutorial. Can I ask you why you use different crochet stitches for the hat and top - for the bucket hat you use half crochet and for the top you you double crochet stitches ? Greetings from Copenhagen, Denmark
Hej! The whole hat is done in half double crochet as we refer to it in the US, I believe in EU it’s called half treble crochet? Apologies for any confusion
Hi, thanks for the video, do you know why my circle is not flat, i tried twice , I did all the increase correct , is it because I use diff kind of yarn? Or should I chain 1 every row ? Thanks again
Hi! I didn’t chain one every row because I don’t turn the top after each row I just kept going forward. It might be that your hook is too small for the yarn your using making the tension too tight
New subscriber
Okay I've made this twice and it's absolutely huge idk what I'm doing wrong
Hi Emily, I came across your video. You go girl, these are nice. Just a question, did you use cotton? I’m going to try one. Thank you.
Thank you so much! Some of the yarn is cotton, some is acrylic, some is a blend, I used whatever I had laying around
Hi I want to understand the increases.
Is it at every round that you do the increase? First row you increase one and every row as you go keep on increasing?
Row 2 you increase 2 and so on.
Please ?? I want to make it because I love it!! Thanks
Hi! So each row you add a normal stitch before the increase. row 1: 1single crochet 1 increase. Row2: 2 single crochet 1 increase. Row3: 3 single crochet 1 increase. And so on, hope that makes sense!
yes, she increased every row until it fits her head circumstances. 1st row 1 hdc 1 inc, 2nd 2 hdc 1 increase, 3rd 3 hdc 1 increase
Like to make a tote bag to match😁
Hi why did you use double yarn of the baby blue Thank you for a great tutorial
Hi! Baby weight yarn is so thin and I wanted to make sure it was the same thickness as all the other yarn
How many rows did you do for the side of the hat before the brim
Mine turned out flat, don't really know what I did wrong 💔 loved the tutorial tho!
Hi! I really enjoyed the tutorial, but my sides turn out rounder instead of straight, what am I doing wrong do you think?
Hi! Before you started the sides did you do one row of inside loop only? Also make sure you’re not making any accidental increases
omg FAMILY
Thanks 4 the pattern
I wonder why you didn't crochet over all those loose ends, burying them as you worked the rounds? It would sure save on dealing with them later. Given its a multicolor hat, who cares if there's a little color showing through? Well, that's what I'll do when I make it... I love making my crochet life easier when I can. Weaving in ends is too tedious! Still, thanks for the vid and inspiration. I love your idea of using embroidery floss with the white yarn for a marled effect.
I almost always crochet over and avoid weaving in ends! For this one I was just feeling particular about the color look and decided do weave in after😅 but I totally agree, not necessary
thank you 4 this tutorial
i have my own its beautiful
its almost 19,000mx on my money , I dont pay for this
Hi ❤️ this pattern.... did you use all cotton or acrylic too?
Mix of both! I just used whatever I had laying around
K... thanks so much
Hi, this is lovely, and it also amazed me how much it could cost otherwise, why would anyone agree to that!??!
I've almost finished making this for my sister and added in a strip of mini granny squares just before the brim, just to change it up a bit and make it even more fun!
I just wanted to ask, what is the reason for why it needs to end on an increase round when doing the brim? Hoping you can get back and let me know, thanks! :)
Hi! If you don’t increase it won’t keep growing out flat like a brim does, it will form downwards like the hat because all the stitches will stack uniformly row by row!! Hope that makes sense
I think it will be very different with the brim your planning, if you’re on instagram id love to see the finished product! emilyfrances._
Thanks so much for your reply! I think there may have been some misunderstanding with what I said however, as what I was hoping to find out was why the last row of the brim needs to end on an increase round?
Also, I made a separate small granny square strip to add onto the main part of the hat so didn't do as much of the length after the crown part, sewed that on and then worked the brim off the base of that, if that makes sense?
So the granny square strip is in the main part of the hat still, it's not to replace the brim.
I'd love to show you the end result but am not on Instagram sorry, but if you can let me know about the order of the brim rounds and why the last one should be an increase round I'd be really grateful, thanks! 😊
Is there a reason you don’t carry your yarn? In order to avoid having to weave in so much? Would it make the hat bulky?
I found when carrying on this hat that I could always see the other colors I was carrying and I don’t love that so I took the time to weave in on this one to be pickier about where the tails would blend best
What’s the stitch count for each round?
What is the Crown diameter??? I want to make sure that my hat is not too small as I am using a 5mm hook
How thick is your Yarn
How long Is the circonference of this head?
Which size yarn and needle did you use please?
Hi! I used a 5.25 hook and the yarns are mostly a worsted weight yarn but I really used whatever I had laying around
@@emilyfrances._ thankyou.
unfortunately could not follow along :( my hat didn't start to round out and up like that.
You crochet so tight I'm wondering if I should use a smaller hook
cant see where you put the stitch marker, cant ser where you chain or do anything and its really hard to follow but really cool hat(:
Are the yarns same material?
No! I literally used whatever was in my stash, but if one was way thinner than the others I doubled it up to make it a similar thickness

What size of crochet hook did you use?😊
I used a 5.25mm, but I’m sure a 5 would work just fine!

Very nice tutorial. Was unable to find your Instagram account. Plz n thanks
I'm 62 yrs old. The most I charge for a crocheted bucket hat for $25. I guess if it's expensive yard. But that's crazy. Who is Miu miu?
this is the tutorial i;ve been looking for as a beginner, but with so many colors, you made it very confusing and difficult to follow. i have a flat top hat that i've always wanted to copy, but i'm a knitter usually. have you got maybe a 2 or 3 color video? thanks
Oh my god... why do you make such a tight stitch? 😨
I like the structure! I’ve made bucket hats with a looser stitch and it was a little too floppy for my taste. But it’s a very easy fix to change your hook size or tension to your preference!
Great tutorial but this shit is confusing af lmaoooooo im fighting for my fucking life trying to figure this out 😂
😂😂😂 I’m so sorry hahaha
MACH BE HA
«Im gonna do half a double crochet into the stitch» but you are not telling or showing which stitch just a tip for next time to really go through the steps more🌷
I want to like to say that you are very pretty and beautiful girl and I want to like to have friends that are girls that girls to wear a cool hat like this
Brown sugar (whatever is called) is such an awful yarn to work with when it comes to wearables
I’m trying hard with my wool thick yarn but the work is not precise, I don’t know where is the issue, but it turns a bit, and I think there might be a gap 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
