Algae control using APT Fix| How to reduce algae growth

  • Algae normally do not come if an aquarium is in balance. But many times due to lack of maintenance or other reasons, it becomes difficult to restore the aquarium balance and algae proliferate. Please check this video, ( • Aquarium Algae Control... ), on how due to improper detritus removal, there was uncontrolled algae growth in one of our aquariums. In such cases, it may become necessary to use an algaecide temporarily.
In this video, we have shown how we used APT fix to bring the algae in one of our aquariums under control.
Detailed observations over a number of days of how the algae growth was controlled have been shown.
We observed some unique advantages of APT Fix as an algaecide over other similar products.
    1) APT Fix is absolutely harmless for fish and shrimps. It does not contain copper and hence does not affect shrimps or other crustaceans
    2) APT Fix is completely biodegradable and hence can be used over an extended time period without worrying about the harmful chemical build-up in the aquarium
    3) It works effectively over most types of algae
    4) Only 1ml/ 10L is needed and hence can be used over a longer time period

Thank you for this. I just bought a 200ml bottle and began treatment one hour ago. I put it locally on the critical zones (plants and wood). I was very careful not to use it on moss, as it supposedly is harmful to it. Take care.

My tank was in mess after I returned from a month long vacation. Did a massive water and physical cleaning and treatment with phytongit as advised in earlier video. Now the tank is back in shape but I'll probably try out apt fix to remove some of the leftovers if any after balancing the tank back. This video was just in time 😀. Thanks

@@ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870 So for the moment, most of the green filamentous algae had disapperead.
The most problematic ones, the staghorn at day 4, half of them had become red and are eaten by the schrimps (they were so focus on it, it's amazing). So i'm really glad, it's going to be on a good way.
I'll proceed to a little water remove (10%) like every week and continue on the next days until disappear. But it seems to be on a good way i'm so happy.
I'll tell you some days after if it had totally disappeared and how fish, schrimps and snails are feeling.

Dozing just follow what is written on the bottle. There is no need to do specific water change for Fix, as mentioned in the video it is completely biodegradable. So you can follow a normal water change routine. But if the algal load is high, I will recommend a water change after 3/4 days of treatment. Lastly as I have told many times, the best way to control algae is to bring the aquarium to a balance and Fix should be used only when things are out of control

    Hello sir
I'm facing some problems in my planted tank. I need your suggestions.
I have a planted tank approx 70ltr. Used Neo soil with root tabs. Lighting it 6hrs a day with pressurized co2. I do regular water changes. I started fertilizer APT 1. After 2 months I'm started seeing BBA. I follow you as well as Mr Mayur Dev. I saw his video about BBA and added seachem purigen in filter. The BBA came under control. Some plants started to die. I removed seachem purigen about 2 months ago. Again BBA started to grow again.
Please suggest what should I do?
Note: I use seachem Prime after water changes.
I started fertilizer APT 3 about a week back.

    • @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870
      @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870  Před rokem

Hello!! sorry for the late response. BBA can come for a variety of reasons. It would be great if we can know the Carbonate Hardness of your aquarium water. A good aquarium test kit should list a parameter by the name KH and that indicates Carbonate HArdness. If that is high than CO2 does not mix and BBA will come. Kindly call 9830009691 so that we can understand your problem a little better and solve your problem.

Being a biodegradable product you can definitely use it daily. But algae automatically remains in control when a Nature Aquarium is in balanced condition. You see there are no Nature Aquarium in the World which can claim that it's absolutely algae free. So we should try and achieve that natural balance which keeps algae under control and where you do not have to depend on any external means to control algae. Hope I could answer.
