- The Holy Week is a big deal in the Philippines since the majority of the population are Catholic Christians, and it's been embedded in our culture for centuries. However, many things have changed with the Filipino traditions since the 2000s. How about the Koreans, do they also commemorate the Holy Week? Where are Jimmy and Kring spending the Holy Week anyway?

I remember nung elementary pag nag ash Wednesday magbibilang ng 40 days (kuwaresma) till mag holy week. tas pag nag ash Wednesday mag ninilay nilay mag fasting every Friday hanggang mag holy week.
Good evening Madam kring and sir jimmy Podcast time!🎉
Blooming kayong parehas❤
I find Holy Week in the Philippines very interesting din. It’s one of the few holidays that gave me chills before. Nakakakilabot. Tapos Good Friday, yung full force na yung mga nagpepenitensya sa provinces like Pampanga. I remember one time our car being covered with blood. Then Black Saturday, parang wala talagang ganap as in literal na sobrang tahimik.
Wwoooww thank you for your insights. Personally I haven’t seen yung penitensya in real life yet pero medyo hardcore ang kwento mo na your car was covered in blood 😨 And yes before pag holy week literal tahimik but nooowww nasa Japan kami haha
Na-miss ko bigla ang mongo
Catching up to this content kahit late na me 😅❤
plusssss i love your look here madam 🥰
Yeah i remember like every Good Friday we are not allowed to take a bath after 3pm kasi by that time daw patay na daw si lord. And we will go to church and do the station of the cross. We cannot eat meat as well. And un nga nagagalit mga thunders kapag maingay or magulo kami dapat prim and proper lang 😅
The side of the Korea was American easter 🐣
Here in Switzerland, yung period na walang pasok is from Good Friday to the following Monday.
Ooohhhh meron din pala sa Europe!!!
pag holy week noon ang bagal ng oras dahil wala nga ginagawa at sa gabi lng may palabas sa tv tapos puro lumang movie pa yung tipong 70's o 80's movie pa..At napapansin ko pag holyweek dun yun sobrang init ng panahon as in init na init ka 😄.. naalala ko meron kami vhs tape ng the bible at titanic yun ang paulit ulit nmin pinanonood 😁
Tsaka ang walang kamatayang 10 commandments na luma 😅
Noong bata pa ako, wala talagang may lumalabas sa tv starting monday. Later na lg na merong lumalabas like mga holy week special or anything related dun pati misa.
Oo nga as in bawal anything positive or happy energy kaloka! 😅
Hahahah kasi nga pagninilay ang monday at tuesday. Actually yung palaspas mo nung sunday susunugin mo para yung abo gamitin mo sa ash wednesday, yung mga movies ipapalabas lang nila kapag maundy thursday or good friday na.
@19:27 we skipped over the Passion and went straight to the Resurrection 😂
Catholics were too somber
Protestants were like, cmon, ressurection people!
while ung mga in-between: meh, whatevs. i just want my regular programming back (aka me 😂)
And i think the word Senakulo meaning Cenacle, right? Tapos, ung cenacle meaning ung gathering sa upper room(?) like, in prayer...? so in a way, our version of Senakulo is a visualization/invites you to a mental/meditative type of prayer. (Kahit na ayaw mong magimagine)
Actually according nmn sa kay Bl. Anne Catherine Emerich writings, after Jesus ascebded to heaven, Mama Mary always came back to those places where Jesus was and what he experienced. She retraced His steps frequently. and even after the Fall of the Second temple some 40 years after (napakasignificant ng number 40 sa kanila ano?), when she and St John were in nowadaya Turkey, she always always meditated on His Passion.
i mean, just imagining it from a mother's perspective, why wouldnt you want to remember? and be with your Son (and God) through those moments that though painful, were also redemptive?
She also was Jewish and a woman, and everyone wanted to know who would bore the messiah. So, may ganubg factor? She isnt like us in that way kasi, what she went through and survived Is by the grace of God (full of grace).
bwahahaha troll! 😂
You are not suppose to take a shower before 3pm on good friday, you can still take a shower prior 3pm
Oh yeah… parang I kinda remember that!
Nacurious tuloy ako kung may pagkakaiba ba ng lasa yung brown egg at yung white egg 😅
the "eggs" bit sa Easter Sunday, i read somewhere is about how Mary Magdalene used it to explain to a Roman leader/governor/ceasar(?) (after Pentecost Sunday and everyone was scattered and evangelizing) about Jesus and everything that just happened in Jerusalem. How because of the Ressurection we have a "new life" symbolized by the egg. Roman leader was like, "Oh yeah, How? Show it to me. Give me a sign. How is that egg in your hand gonna proved I'm saved?"
Then, if i remember correctly what i read, there was a flash of light and that the egg in Mary Magdalene's hand turned red (kaya ung tradition of coloring eggs red and different colors) and when she opened it, there was blood.
"It was through Jesus' blood and sacrifice of HIS life, that WE have new life in Him."
Hence, the eggs. and coloring the eggs. as for thw rabbit, i dunno 😂
