My 3 OIL-FREE MAYONNAISE RECIPES⎜NUT-FREE & SOY-FREE OPTIONS is going to save you in those moments you just want a nice simple whole food plant based mayo recipe!
    INGREDIENTS:
    CASHEWS MAYONNAISE:
    1 cup of raw cashew nuts, soaked in water for at least 6 hours
    1/2 cup filtered water
    1 lemon juice
    2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar
    2 teaspoons of garlic powder
    1 teaspoon of powdered onion
    1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
    1 teaspoon of salt
    TOFU MAYONNAISE:
    400 grams of medium-firm tofu
    ⅓ cup of olive oil or water
    ½ cup of parsley
    juice of 1 large lemon
    1 teaspoon of salt
    2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar
    1 teaspoon of garlic powder
    1 tablespoon of onion powder
    AVOCADO MAYONNAISE:
    1 large avocado (6.34 ounces, peeled and pitted)
    ½ lemon juice
    1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
    ¼ teaspoon of salt
    ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder
    ¼ teaspoon of onion powder
    1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar

    Fun little fact: 100 grams of cashews have 44 grams of fat (396 calories). 100 grams of avocado has 15 grams of fat (135 calories). For those who want to watch their fat intake even a bit more. I always switch it up.

      Those are natural good fat. Everyone around me wants to lose weight I want to gain weight lol I rarely use "artificial" fats, not because it worries me but because it makes me sick.

    Jana; I love your channel. My introduction to Brazilian food was Fogo De Chao. I was a property manager for a building in DC that had Fogo de Chao as a tenant. At the time I was not a vegan but when I became a vegan I loved the salad bar. It was wonderful. Fogo de Chao was such a lovely culture and I loved them for that. It was the best. So I could continue eating healthy at Fogo de Chao. Your recipes will help longevity for those of us who want to live a healthy life.. Thank you so much!

      Oh, that's nice! I remember Fogo de Chao very well... Are they closed? I remember they had one restaurant even in Japan... And yes, their salad bar and sides are amazing!

    I made the cashew mayonnaise flavored it caramelized cut fresh onion, cut fresh garlic, grated ginger, grated galangal, cut curry leaves. It had a Asian flavor. I kind of liked it. thanks Jana for ideas.

    Wrap a ripe avocado tightly in tin foil and put it on refrigerator. It will stay ripe and not turn brown for about three months.

    Oh my goddd all of these look so good! I struggle finding vegan alternatives for sour cream and mayo that aren't super expensive for a tiny amount so these are life savers! No more dry sandwiches or burgers lol

    3:49 I would never have thought of eating Brussels sprouts raw, what a great idea!
    Thank you for sharing this, tofu Mayo is a staple in my house, I usually just use lemon juice and black salt (for an eggy flavour), your variation with herbs looks tasty, I will try!

    I forgot to buy olive oil and I didn't have mayonnaise, so I tried the avocado sauce, and you know what? it's delicious! I'm not going to buy mayonnaise anymore, I'm going to use these sauces but I'm going to put olive oil anyway because it should give a better texture and olive oil is good for your health.     I mix cashew with silken tofu. I don’t call it mayo because my husband “hates” mayo, so I call it sandwich spread and he loves it.

    You don't have to simmer your cashews. First chop the cashews in a kitchen machine to quite small bits. Then add water until just submerged. The small bits will soak up the water very quickly. Add water in small quantities until the cashews are saturated. If you add just the right amount of water you don't even have to drain them before you put them in the blender.

    I tried the tofu mayo and it is great, I finally have something that I can use on salads that is oil free. I just used 1 teaspoon of onion powder not 1 tablespoon. Was the 1 tablespoon an error?
