Thank You Ms Gudrun for those excellent tips and tricks!
Thank you for the excellent video, great info and easy to understand.
Great information 😊
Sew fun! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talents with us !
I've used qayg for a twin bed quilt and now am using this method for a queen quilt. You need to study the quilt top pattern (real or imagined) and decide how you can break it down into smaller sections. For the queen quilt I am now making, I have it in three quilt sandwiches and am now using a walking foot to sew 1/2" wavy lines on the three separate pieces. They will be joined by sashing pieces. The sides of the quilt will also be done in qayg and then joined to the body of the quilt. Lots of work, but I only have a home sewing machine and I like to do my own quilting ( free motion and walking foot).
Thanks for mentioning you QAYG in three sections as it is like a light bulb going on for me. Love it.
QAYG is fun to do with scraps.
Thank you for the video...❤️
I have done QAYG in a queen size.
With quilt as you go, should you sew on the first piece with the right side facing up?
On your first seam you will place two pieces right side together & sew them to the batting/backing sandwich. Then you will flip the top piece to the side/open and proceed as she demonstrates in the video. This will give you your starting seam & two pieces that should be right side facing up.
If using the walking foot do you drop the feed dogs or no? Thank you
Leave your feed dogs up for quilt as you go.
