    📊 WHAT IS POWER BI?
Power BI is a business analytics tool by Microsoft. It creates a working environment suited for normal users, meaning tasks such as data extraction, cleansing, analysis and storytelling; these are made easily-accessible to citizen-users, and extendable for technical users. At face value it provides visually-stunning, interactive dashboards, but it’s built on top of so much more.

HI. How do you make a predefined calendar period like having choices.. Today, Yesterday, Last week , YTD.. then it dynamically returns or joins the current date period into your table? thanks.

    Great tutorial
My company fiscal month ends the last Saturday of each months and fiscal year ends the last Saturday of November.
How do I implement a month to date and year to date filter?

Hi, I tried the sort column YEAR()&MONTH(), but this failed when I reached October, so had to use FORMAT(D, "YYYYMM"), which worked.

@@Wzxxx I have since found that you can add a leading zero using FORMAT ( M, "0#"),
and TestPadstart in power q. Always something to learn.

At 14:49 into the video your Fiscal year format was pulling in an incorrect date, never fixed or provided a solution. Also please SLOW down and let people see your whole screen and what you are doing. I think you should update this video and correct it.

The sorting of year & monts is not correct due to wholenumbers. january 2017 will chow as 12017 and october as 102017, whitch is quite a diffence.
So, how can this be solved?
If you look inyour video, you can see that if you use multiple years, they will not jan - sep, then next year jan - sept an then oct - dec will show

      The same here

    • @ezichibordner1699
      @ezichibordner1699 Pƙed 5 měsĂci +1

You can fix that by changing the following line
      ,"Year Month Sort", YEAR([Date]) & MONTH([Date])
      to this
      ,"Year Month Sort", YEAR([Date]) & FORMAT([Date], "MM")
Here is the reason from ChatGPT:
This modification uses the FORMAT function to format the month as a two-digit number ("MM"), ensuring that January is represented as "01", February as "02", and so on, up to December as "12". This change will make the sorting by "Year Month Sort" accurate, as it ensures a consistent string length and proper numerical sorting for months throughout the year.
      I hope that helps.
