  • 99% of us at some point have had conversations or heard about e-tuning our cars. It is something I've been looking forward to doing for a very long time, especially on a platform like the Focus ST, I had a hard time finding information about what the process is really like. So I did just that in this video!

It's really more about what's practical for you. If you don't have a good tuner or someone who really knows your platform in your area, an etune is a good idea. If you do, a dyno is quick, accurate, repeatable, and safe. But even if you have a competent local tuner, they might not be experienced in a certain platform. We are among the top Focus ST tuners in the country, so even if you prefer dyno tuning, renting a dyno and scheduling a remote dyno tune is still a great idea. It will cost the most though since you're renting a dyno and paying for etune.

There are definitely drawbacks to etuning, especially for a street car. But both dyno tuning and etuning have their place and value. Pretty much all race cars and heavily modified cars are tuned both ways at some point for that reason.
