    Cracking collection. I'm green, stuck in the Scottish fiasco. I won't tell you everything I had to surrender ( it'd make you weep ) you couldn't sell for any decent price 'cause of the flooded market. Should have advertised months before in the magazines. Had a HW 95 in .22 with the longer barrel and muzzle weight. That was my nostalgic gun. Lovely shooting rifle!

    I to have the HW90, and it's my only gun. .20 Caliber, shooting JSB 13.73gr at 815 fps or 20fpe. Open sight verson, 19" barrel. Scope is a Sightron mounted on a sportsmatch one piece, fully adjustable mount. It's the best break barrel out there imo.

    The HW77 looks great with the green laminate stock. Its a shame the newer versions have the cutout on the stock, it does look awful. I might have to source a second hand one to get the old style stock as I was planning to get one soon.

  • @PiperX1X

    Check out kit pongo the hogman in Darlington for a stock for your Hw97, I have the blue laminate in 22 and it’s an awesome rifle and bought it from a friend at a very very good price indeed at only six months old and I knew the gun from new but I didn’t want to damage that stock and I knew that kit pongo had some second hand stocks in and I bought a 97 stock in mint condition for £60 and I’ve just looked and he still has some various ones in stock so it maybe worth a look if your interested buddy.
    I have the 99s in 22 and it’s my go too rifle for the garden for when the odd rat decides to rock up where I feed the birds and it’s a little cracker and hits the mark every time. Oh and my pro sport, what a rifle that is! I picked it up last Monday and it’s unbelievable, how smooth are they to shoot and that trigger is on another level and accuracy it’s in pcp territory, at 35 yards I’m getting groups less than a 5p, I’m so pleased I’ve finally got one, I’m a lefty so it cost me more and yes they are expensive but what a rifle mate, your videos made me finally take the plunge so thank you.

    Thanks for another nice video. 97 and 77 stocks are a straight swap. The comb is a little lower on the green laminate than the blue laminate. You might find a slip on comb riser helps eye alignment. Beartooth make a neoprene slip on one that is a decent colour match

    I do agree with you that the Weihrauch models actually very good quality . I own a HW44 myself, but one thing I have against them is they instal a tamper proof mechanism in it. I cannot see why they should restruct me as
    owner of the gun from tuning it to my satisfaction.

  • @ianwoods1384
    @ianwoods1384 Před rokem

    Hi Paul,
    Thank you for another great video. I love the Weihraurch's, too. I'd love to hunt more with my 80 and 97K. The problems are, their weights, the noise of the shots, the cocking lever noises and routing around for your next pellet.
    The pcp's are much lighter, no recoil and their magazines and cocking levers are just so handy and silent in comparison.
    With a heavy heart, it's always the pcp's that win the day with me, Air Arms and BSA.
    I find it extremely satisfying to be accurate with a springer, much more challenging to shoot than a pcp. I have made a carrying shoulder strap for my springers, out of an adapted SA80 British Army rifle sling. It works very well for me. The problem is with the springers, there's nowhere under the fore end to attach the sling to, because of the cocking lever cut out. I won't attach the sling to the cocking lever or gun barrel, I don't agree with that, at all.
    Best wishes, Ian.

      @fieldsportcymru4636 Hi Paul,
      Thank you for your reply. Using your HW90, maybe good training for your up and coming HW80K?
      I've been looking at the 90K for a while, much encouraged by your review and enthusiasm.
      I love the connection with Theoben and how they worked together with Weihraurch. All the ingredients for super, super kit. Just a little nervy of air pressure leaks.
      That said, there's a saying that haunts me out of JDJ Braithwaite's book, The Airgunners Companion. It reads,
      Beware of the hunter with only one gun!
      This means that if you only have one gun, you pick that same gun up every time andl learn exactly its ranges, and how it shoots. If you have a cupboard full, by the time you've finished with one, you've forgotten how all the others shoot!
      Having never been allowed air rifles in my youth, I now have the ones I dreamed of. I've made little individual cards detailing how they shoot. Ideally, though, I'd just have one, though I adore them all and own them for a specific reason.
      Best wishes, Paul.

    Missing out,99 & 57 are amazing. As an older man, don’t want to mall the extra weight around. I have the 99 , 57, 95, 98, 77,97. At 12 ft pound, my 57 in .177 is easy on the body and as accurate as the others. Try one👍🏻 10:10

    Have to agree with you on the stock cutout. The 99S is the worst - I don't like the cheek rest and I don't like the severe cutout below. Makes one think that it was damaged and the damaged portion had to scooped out to salvage it, leaving it with a disfigured body, but otherwise alive 😄
