Thank you guys for this video!! The info you shared is super helpful!! Gaping had become my biggest issue. I changed a lot of things in my swing, good things, and now my clubs go farther and I need to find out my distances. This is exactly what i need for what type of space i have.

Feels like this price point is the sweet spot for most people with the R10 sitting in the same range. Really the only bummer is finding the headroom at least in my home.

I have used AlmostGolf (yellow) balls with net mode and it picks them up, although the distances tend to be shorter than a real ball.

Question: Is the distance determined by what club you use (some kind of formula like the prgr launch monitor), or does it just read the ball flight with the camera and radar?
A major feature I think potentially sets this apart from others is it’s accuracy with what Rapsodo calls “launch direction” - initial direction (right, left, straight) that the ball starts relative to the target line. I see that verbiage on their website but never hear anyone talking about it, what was your experience or anyone that has one have a comment?
I know you guys did a video with the Optishot. Would be interesting to see you use the MLM to calibrate your clubs and make it more consistent
You missed one important fact. Iphones are notorios for overheating in the hot sun. When using the rapsodo outdoors you need to either make a box to shade the phone and rapsodo or use an ipad which doesn’t overheat like the Iphone.
I’ve had mine for 4 months and absolutely love it. Great tool to help improve your game.
Any issues with accuracy using it outdoors with a net ? I’m looking to find a set up for my back yard since I’m in LA and the weather is never bad
@@ifquinnhadagram i find that it gives you yardage that is less than actual. But it is consistently short by about 10 yards on each club, so using it with a net can still be productive. I really like the ability to try out a swing thought at home. No longer need to drive to the range.
@@mrjerryp77 appreciate the feed back … I think I’m go with that rapsodo 2 that drops later this month … the money and time i spend to get to the range and is more than pays for it so it’s a wash

Does the phone need to be on the unit to record the swing or can I set it up a little higher on a tripod?
Does this work well off grass. I have a Mevo and I notice that off grass it is not very accurate if it picks up at all

What causes the distances to be way down indoors?

really useful thank you - do you think this would give any genuine data using 'almost golf balls' - ie slightly softer (I know you have said you can't use air flight balls but these are much harder than that). I use these as my net is in a built up area and I am partial to the occasional shank!
I just received my rhapsodo. It set up easy. However, I usually hit my 8i 155. However, the Rhapsodo said 115, 120, 95. I chose 8i in the app. I had just come from the driving range. At the range, I hit off mats that don’t more and the yardage signs also dont move and were validated by me using a handheld radar thing. So I bought this used. Is it possible that I need to go back to factory settings and start over? Thanks

I got an used one on eBay for under $200 so can't complain (much), but only thing I am a bit disappointed for the use with a net is indeed the lack of a simulated tracer of at least some sort of lateral measurement. I dont need games or full simulation, but it would be good to know if hit it straight or a major slicer.

Does it have an audible readout after your shot telling you the distance or does it just read on the screen?
It reads our distance, ball speed, launch angle after each shot. I wear BT ear buds and I don’t really have to look at it
@@cjwright1960 it does audibly announce the data? Through the bt headphones?
@@Hamlocks yes, it announces three data points, which can be tailored, I usually take carry distance, ball speed, launch angle

how does this compare to the optishot for indoor?
The two systems actually perform quite differently. OptiShot measures the club with sensors in the mat and uses that data to estimate ball flight. The Rapsodo measures ball flight with radar and the device camera. OptiShot is more of a "simulator" while the Rapsodo is a "launch monitor." So it's hard to compare the two systems very directly.

Opti shot would be more fun but prob less accurate I'm guessing

I just bought the Rapsodo and am in Michigan so can only use it with a net right now. It is really inconsistent in picking up shots. It works for a series of shots then when switching clubs it becomes very inconsistent. (Picks up shots then doesn’t). It also gets stuck in read mode at times . Too frustrating to play with it all the time. I wouldn’t recommend it
Not sure if this helps in your particular situation but if possible try to make sure the area where you are using it has a good amount of light. We’ve found that brighter lighting leads to better results when using the Rapsodo indoors because it helps the camera see the ball better.

I don’t find the net distance accurate outside compared to inside usage. Range is pretty accurate within a few yards.
I am just assuming because your only positive comments and nothing negative at all that you were being paid to do this like an infomercial? Can you just confirm that is accurate? All for you guys making your living doing this but it is nice to have all of the info when you’re reviewing a product.
I absolutely love my Rapsodo MLM. Not gonna lie. I'm not being paid. LOL. But I was featured on their page. Went from mid 80s to low 70s this year. My only tool is the Rapsodo
