Your garden is wonderful, your house is great, but the most beautiful of all are you, your souls, your laughter and especially your children. Jimmy, sweet Jimmy and the beautiful girls.
I loved watching Jimmy eat that tomato, fresh off the vine. What a smart, beautiful healthy and handsome boy. You are both teaching him well. God bless you and your children!
The joyful family ❤ You work hard and are blessed with abundance of vegetables. Today’s living bread: “Matthew 5:14-16 You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Keep on being a light in the world Joyce and Peter❤ The cabbage may need more space for the roots, so maybe that is why they grow slow. They also need a lot of nutrition, chicken manure is good. We give the cabbage around 1 square feet each. I sow them indoors in February, plant outside in june(we can have frost during may here in Norway ) and harvest them between September and the first frost in October. Nothing is like harvesting the first beautiful cabbage head❤ Our grow season is between may and october. The first thing we sow outside is peas and carrots. But we don’t have the dry season you have, but our summers are probably colder than your winter😂 A good summer temperature is 20-22 degrees celsius. Tell us, how are the seasons in Kenya? How do you keep the gardens alive when it’s dry? Love from your sister in Christ from Norway.
Good Evening, I enjoyed watching the video. What an amazing garden. May God continue to richly Bless you and your family. My regards to Peter and the children. Give Jimmy a hug from me. It is 4:35pm here in Barbados, West Indies.
Basil goes great with rice too! Using fresh basil with rice can add a burst of flavor and aroma to your dishes. Here are some ideas on how to incorporate basil into rice:Basil Rice: Finely chop fresh basil and stir it into cooked rice. Add a little olive oil, salt, and pepper to enhance the flavors.Herb Rice: Mix fresh basil with other herbs like parsley, cilantro, or mint and stir into rice for a fragrant herb rice.Basil Pesto Rice: Make a basil pesto and stir it into cooked rice. This creates a rich, flavorful dish.Rice Salad: Combine cooked, cooled rice with chopped basil, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and a light vinaigrette for a refreshing rice salad.Tomato Basil Rice: Cook rice with diced tomatoes, garlic, and chicken broth. Stir in fresh basil just before serving for a delicious side dish.Basil Fried Rice: Add chopped basil to vegetable or chicken fried rice just before it's done cooking to preserve its fresh flavor.Lemon Basil Rice: Stir in chopped basil and a squeeze of lemon juice into cooked rice for a bright and zesty side dish.Basil Butter Rice: Mix softened butter with finely chopped basil and stir it into hot cooked rice for a rich and flavorful dish.Stuffed Peppers: Mix rice with chopped basil, diced vegetables, and a protein (like ground beef or chickpeas). Stuff into bell peppers and bake.Basil Rice Pilaf: Sauté onions and garlic in olive oil, add rice and cook as usual. Stir in chopped basil at the end of cooking for a flavorful pilaf. These ideas can help you incorporate fresh basil into your rice dishes, adding a delightful herbal note to your meals.
I like watching your videos. Your happiness is so delightful. When I am down you pick up my mood. Your village life is so interesting. All you have to do is go in your garden, and select the food you want for the day. Thank you for sharing.
Hi joyce Peter and Jimmy also the girls iam happy to see how productive your land is and you all are doing so well. The weed that the rabbits love it's called dandelion we don't eat it here but persons make tea after boiling it. The basil is use in your soups and when you are cooking meats like chicken and fish or any other. Thanks for sharing ❤❤
Hey Joyce and Peter!!! Such a beautiful place!!! Never a lack of anything "good and good for u" to eat, I love it!!! Hey adorable Little Jimmy!!!! I know yall will be happy when you get that dirt hill down to the ground lol That is some good dirt looks like!!! I so love how u and Peter love one another and how u get along together, it's great!!! I absolutely love living in the country growing some of our own food!!!! The last meal I ate was, we call, supper and it was burrito's! U all are so great together and I loveeeeeeeeeeeee watching your channel! Thank you so much for the fun and great content!!!
Hi, Joyce & Peter & Jimmy. Good job! I would suggest to pinch those seeds from the tops of the basil plants. Dry them and you can plant next season. You can dry the basil plants, too. I tie a string around a bunch of plants and hang them where there’s not a lot of light. When dry, put in a container. It’s delicious, especially in dishes with tomatoes. Keep up the good work!💜
You guys are very productive gardeners. You save a lot of money growing your own fruit & vegetables too. I love watching your videos because you have such wonderful spirits. Keep doing what you're doing. God bless your family
Beautiful shumba I love the country life yes we say country same as village but am in the city so I can't grow vegetables and about that rotten pumpkin it probably was ready to be harvest and you didn't notice so it spoiled Jimmy got that tomato and I thought of me ad a child in country I would just pluck them and eat them you and your family are a blessing stay focus and blessed ❤❤❤❤❤
Wow!!! Your garden is bountiful. Your wheel barrel will help you move all the pumpkins and papayas. I pay so much for organic food (food without chemicals). In the USA one serving of organic eggs, vegetables, and fruit can cost about $50 to $60 every week in a half.
I'll tell you something else. Great because you have chickens. Unfortunately, I don't have them. But chicken manure is the best fertilizer for all plants. Pour boiling water over it to kill the insects in it, then dilute it heavily with water and water the plants with that water.
Hello 👋 I had a garden of green peppers and cucumbers. I miss my garden. I would enjoy planting cabbage. Exactly I never used chemicals and shared with my neighbors. My family likes watermelon. Nice garden and harvest 😊
Can damaged fruit be food for chickens? I was wondering if you boil the potato peels and use them as feed for the chickens? It is an excellent food for them if the cooked husks are crushed and mixed with other chicken food.
Cut the tops off the basil so it will spread and not flower unless you want seeds to sow next year. You use basil as a spice. It can be dried and crushed, or fresh leaves can be torn into tomato dishes. It is excellent in combination in dishes with tomatoes.
😅Fresh basil is incredibly versatile and can be used in a variety of ways. Here are some uses. Blend fresh basil with garlic, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, and olive oil to make a classic pesto sauce. Use pesto sauce to mix with fresh vegetables before you roast them, put pesto on sandwiches Add whole or chopped basil leaves to salads. Toss fresh basil into pasta dishes, either mixed into the sauce or as a garnish. Add basil to soups like tomato basil soup for flavor. Use basil leaves in sandwiches Mix chopped basil into softened butter for a flavorful spread for bread.
Hi Joyce and Peter, Great idea to try Watermelon. Watermelons are dry areas or desert fruit. They do well in dry season as with abundance of rainy water the fruit tend to split. If currently it is rainy season in your area, you can do an experimentation to see. Next time, plant them at the end of rainy season and water them through the dry season Shalom.
Love your garden and all the hard work you and Peter put into it 😂and it's so lovely seeing your delight at all your produce it gives. I think you need to use a shovel or scoop to put the chicken waste on the plants as it's not safe handling it with bare hands. Keep up the good work.
For basil: pinch the flowers off, pinch the leaves off… good in salads, with fresh tomatoes and fresh cheese, add to sauce with tomatoes and garlic. Yum
With Basil if you have tomatoes in the garden can prepare fresh tomato sauce and put them there not much but depends with the quantity of the sauce. You can also make basil paste and in both case u use them for pasta , spaghetti or Rice.
I myself planted tomatoes in containers, but larger plants do not have enough nutrients in this way of growth, so I no longer plant tomatoes and cucumbers in containers, but only spices and flowers.
Hi the Peter's, you can be spraying organic pesticides which is. Chilli peppers +kitunguu saumu, ginger. (in a mixer and add water then in a spray bottle) Or Mkonjo ya rabbits mix with water and spray. This you spray to all plants in your garden.
Joyce here in Washington state USA planting season usually early spring May and Harvest in October. Our winters are too cold to plant of course because of freezing. It’s good our grandmothers passed down canning some of the harvest.
It looks like you could make this job more efficient by starting at the top of the pile and working your way down. This prevents the pile from collapsing and makes the job more manageable. Also divide the pile into sections and tackle one section at a time. This will give you a sense of progress and make the task less overwhelming.
Love the garden. Im way in the USA I would love to come over if only I was closer. You guys seem to have fun with each other and how wonderful it must be to live off the land ❤
Good morning family!!! Have a wonderful day 🌹 yes I love the greens Swiss chard is really good too.I would steam them a little butter salt And pepper. Some times with vinegar

Basil is a herb you can take leaves and put it on top of finished cooked meat as a garnish
Those bad papaya are very good for the chicken.Hence minimizing the amount of chicken feed.

Real organic food lovely husband and wife 🙏🙏
You were so active that day 😂 I'm catching yr videos lm behind
The plant with the sharp toothed edges is wild spinach (Lamb's Quarters or Pig Weed).
That one is called dandelion it produces yellow flowers abd you can make a tea from the flowes and the leaves can be eaten as vegetable.
Dry the leaves of basil and it tastes good with tomatoes, beef, or sausage, lamb, chicken, and goat.
Hi Joyce and Peter. Have a Beautiful Day😊🌻
Hi Joyce, Peter and family. I ❤ it. Harvesting the fruits of your labor. What a blessing...❤

Great. Lots of garden soil. It is difficult to plant a garden in my place because I live on a hill where there is almost only stone.
For basil: pinch the flowers off, pinch the leaves off… good in salads, with fresh tomatoes and fresh cheese, add to sauce with tomatoes and garlic. Yum
Thank you for the tip

Hi the Peter's, you can be spraying organic pesticides which is.
Chilli peppers +kitunguu saumu, ginger. (in a mixer and add water then in a spray bottle) Or
Mkonjo ya rabbits mix with water and spray.
This you spray to all plants in your garden.
Good day, good sun and very shiny smiles!!!!💛💙
