A magnificent artwork.
A true beauty that'll stay that way for years to come
you are fulfilling your destiny
a magnificent song
Was too late to discover the world, too early to explore the stars, but just in time for this beauty
@Kelvin Klopper Hey lep lep la. You don't have enough imagination . Kubrick figured it out without the internet, why is it so hard for humans with so much information to see the truth? It requires a lot of patience. But yeah.
We will visit the stars, as the stars are us. And we long for purpose , so the stars long for purpose, it makes sense. Why wouldn't the stars want to be visited by their most stubborn children ? It doesn't make sense.

your words are beautiful
"You dont have to own the universe, just see it."
Once, I had a dream with this song playing in the background. And it was the most beautiful, surreal dream I’ve ever had.
Earth was dying, and the government had issued each family a spaceship to take us to our next habitable planet. But my family, much like many others, stayed until the very last day. Right before we were going to take off, I told my parents I wanted to say one last goodbye to our planet. So I spent that time wandering around in woods and fields I grew up in. The sky kept darkening, so my only light was the one built into my spacesuit.
Finally, right before I was ready to leave, I stopped at the edge of the field and stared at the wall of trees (the woods) in front of me. And like magic, a light glowed from the woods, rising up. It was our neighbors, leaving behind everything in their spaceship. As I watched everything around me light up, animals of all kinds gathered beside me to watch. With the wind and dark surrounding us, all creatures in harmony, we watched the spaceship fly away. In earth’s final hours, every creature upon it was at peace, residing together in harmony. It was like they knew the world was ending. And only then, every being was truly together, without hurting one another. Right before the end of the world.
But I left earth behind.
Needless to say, it was the best dream I’ve ever had.
Dude that is so beautiful
That left me speechless because it was so beautiful

A lot of the music industry I've noticed puts so much into the climax of the song, but neglects the rise and fall. The climax is only as good as the rise makes it, in my opinion at least, and this song is good evidence of that. Otherwise, you find people just skipping around to the "drop", and the song itself is not taken seriously. I want to enjoy the piece as a whole, not just the "drop" that people look for. Sea of Voices is so good, I love how long it takes to build up, slowly lifting you up, as you become more and more enthralled by these sounds, until the climax arrives, and at that point you're just floating to the music. So beautiful, I truly have yet to find a song quite as powerful as this. Easily the best song I've ever heard.
You simply summed it up perfectly . If you want some chill you can listen to Now by Vexento .
Exactly. The point is not the destination but the journey, which also makes the finally-getting-there so much more meaningful. You are now not listening simply to a moment in time, but to a story, a story of life and death and rebirth, rise and fall and rise again. And when it finally fades away, you know it is not truly "done," that it continues in yourself, and you now can and will rise again...
Sorry for getting all philosophical about that, this song tends to do that to me. But I absolutely get what you are saying here.
seigfried give me the same feeling as this song does. the ambient sounds the slow build up are amazing! truly the best song porter robinson has ever made imo

when i was in senior high, i recommend this song as an opening song of my school music extracurricular/Music class concert to the leader of the concert and the teacher, they just said this song is not good, even some of my friend said this song's weird. I don't think this is a bad or a weird song, Porter made this song with his imagination and his pure skill, even this is one of the best song and have the sickest drop beside Grand Escape and Fix You. But for my friends if you read this just remember, you've made a huge mistake :)
I understand you, mate. Honestly, I don't have any words for those people who didn't like this, telling that it is weird. I just feel sympathy for them for they can't enjoy what is probably one of the greatest electronic dance music masterpieces. And by "Grand Escape" do you mean Grand Escape by Radwimps, and by Fix You do you mean by Danny Olson?
I sound like an asshole, but those people probably listen to shit tier mainstream music with a monotonous four chord progression. If not, they probably have veri bed hearing.

I remember listening to this song on my way home from my last day at middle school. My old friends i've known since first grade and I were there. The school hosted a small "goodbye" party with pizza and a bad dj.
Then, when the party was over, and I had said bye to all my friends, this song started playing. It made me remember all the good memories from middle school, and that i probably never would experience such good times again.
Damn, my heart breaks every time i listen to this song.

+NorwayXProductions I know how you feel. I graduated high school a couple months ago, and I feel the same way. All those friendships you've made and all the great memories come back and it really makes you feel depressed.
Imagine it. After all you have done, all your hard work and determination, after all struggles and internal battles, after every storm, you finally made it. The end of the road. The summit of glory. All your sweats are long gone, only you and this Elysium. A taste of heaven.
As someone finally making good money and loving in my favorite city in the world after years of grind, this definitely resonates.

And he's only 22 with music production skills beyond his years
Not really. Practice from a young age or just really hard work from like 17-18.
+Christian Rumsey I doubt Martin Garrix will make such works of art when he's 22. He made Animals when he was 17 I believe. Ari Karim is saying that Porter already has both an understanding AND mastery of his art at a very young age. His songs don't simply consist of catchy beats and big drops like most young artists...they're works of art. That is remarkable for someone so young to be so mature already
I like Martin Garrix but I know he isn't that talented. Martin is cookie cutter big room house shit to be honest. His EP is rather repetitive and the 4 songs except Gold Skies all sound similar and he got a fuckload of DJs to help him produce the EP. One song has like 4 fuckin Djs, it's almost like he is getting ghost produced. His music is basically just easily manufactured big room house stuff with all the typical cookie cutter shit like the big drop and the typical house beat. Porter Robinson on the other hand is special. He is extremely talented and his music is complex, experimental, deep, beautiful, and simply gripping. Porter is definitively one of the most talented, creative, original producers. He is miles ahead of Martin Garrix.
Happy 10 years to a track that changed how I listened to music at the time 💚

Nice!
For those saying that this song lacks originality, creativeness or difference, I believe that you are neither right nor wrong. Everyone has their personal opinion on things and we should all respect that.
Well said. I personally don't care for the song, but I respect the musical content and value of it.
I doubt anyone ever reads my comments but I remember listening to this song with a girl I was dating and sharing the magical moment with her. It is currently April 12, 2020 and I am across the country from her because of the current epidemic sending all college students back home. But it does not matter, since we broke up a while ago and she has a new boyfriend to bring light into her world. I'm not writing this to receive pity or sympathy, I just want to move on. It's been roughly seven months since we broke up and she clearly moved on, why can't I? why do random obscure objects such as this song remind me of her? I hate missing her. If the girl I am referring to ever does come across this comment(which I highly doubt because this isn't her type of music) I just want you to know that out of all the relationships I have had, you were the realest. You were the one who I could envision spending the remainder of my life with. Despite everything that has happened, I still genuinely love you and I hope you are doing alright.
Hope you're doing well :)
Hey man. Hope all is well! Just wanted to let you know that what you’re probably still feeling will pass. I had a similar situation with a girl my freshman year of high school. It took until my sophomore year of college to fully get over her. But I eventually did! And I’m so glad I put the effort in to getting through all the hard days. There is so much more to life than the present circumstances. Just try to take it one day at a time
Honestly, I get this. Sometimes you just never forget about them, which is fine. You know love is like a rose its beautiful and painful due to it's thorns. Your feelings and memories won't disappear, but in time it won't hurt you as much anymore. So it's alright if it hurts you now. What you had is real and sometimes it just takes time. Time may not heal all wounds but it can, if you take good care of yourself and focus on your happiness. Sometimes the pain may leave a scar but if you heal yourself first it won't hurt anymore. Keep focusing on yourself and what you want to do. Focus on your goals and how to make yourself happier. Take care of yourself, sometimes we love someone so much we forget to treasure ourselves. Give yourself time to heal and also surround yourself with people who care about you.

because you've been through so much in your cushy first world life compared to starving African childrensorry I'm having a horrible day
+Nekosmith I have a feeling you have yet to learn that everyone experiences things different. yes in comparison, the starving children is "worse" I guess, but we have no way of experiencing that so to us, what we're feeling personally is the worse TO US AND US ALONE. think about that next time you say it.
Underestimated Usually first of all, what you said made no use of grammar whatsoever. normally I would be okay with that, but it is to the point of not being able to understand you almost at all. second of all, us getting used to our first world lives doesn't mean that it's ok for starving children getting used to starving. if you're used to being in constant pain, it may not feel like as big of an issue to you compared to other people, but it still would bother you a lot more than people who don't have many troubles in their lives.
The beauty of 3:15 when the massive chords hit you is that it comes completely unexpectedly. When was the last time you felt so hit by a song like that? Porter Robinson, in this song but even more in Divinity, creates the most beautiful supersaws.
I wrote a little story while listening to this:
You're walking through an open white space. The ground is glass, like the back of an iPhone. When you look up, you see ice crystals floating in the air, like little diamonds, twinkling daintily. You keep walking, and as you trek further into this place you see beautiful sculptures of packed snow. You don't know what they are, but their shapes bring indescribable feelings out of a place that doesn't exist. Some evoke tears, some bring out memories, some are just there to be. There's a sense of feeling warm and cold simultaneously, and you feel a phantom hand on your shoulder. Nobody is there but you.
"Let's see creation come undone..."
Everything happens in a matter of seconds.
The floor fades away from underneath you as the ice crystals shatter and fall. The sculptures fall apart into bits, but don't melt. The room turns dark, and you descend down.
At first, you panic. You're in freefall. You can't see the ground. Terminal velocity haunts you like unpaid student debt. The music is at such a high volume you want to sing along, but with death's shadow so close to your side, you can't help but scream. As the ice falls past you, you can see yourself reflected back. Except, it's memories of you. Some are your own. Many aren't. In some you're the best person ever. In others you're a demon. A few see you as witty, hilarious, a great friend. One sees you as a speck of dust, an ant.
Before you know it, all the frozen water bits have flown past you. With nothing left to do, you shut your eyes and wait for impact.
"Let's see creation come undone..."
All of a sudden, you stop falling, as if grabbed by an invisible hand. and gently lowered to the ground. The ice has become a pool of the clearest water you've ever seen.
"These bones that bound us will be gone..."
The area begins to lighten once more, trickling from black to space grey, to white.
It's now warm. You feel a hug. You're still alone, but it feels nice nonetheless. The shape is familiar to you. A grin arrives on your face.
"We'll stir our spirits til' we're one..."
The snow from the sculptures begins to fall, the flecks resting in your hair as the spirit comforts you. The room fades between pale, dim colours. Mint, lemon, lavender, strawberry, ocean...
"The softest shadows we'll become."
You don't know what'll happen next, despite all that's happened before. All you know is you're here now, and that's alright.
You blink.
.
.
.
You wake up.
wow...
I'm speechless....
One day, I will make this scene a reality, with the music to it. Whether it will be in 3d or 2d or VR or AR or whatever doesn't matter. This is a something that has to become something. I haven't gotten this sort of chills in a long while. Wow.
Vilmer i can’t wait for when that happens, friend. I’m glad my words moved you in such a way :D
I usually skip some parts in many songs, but this song deserve to be listen throughout and repeated.
his whole album changed my life in all honestly.
exactly
not to be dramatic but this song has literally changed my entire life since i discovered it late 2020, a little late im aware but it completely made me think things differently and i dont think i'd be the person i am today if this song wasn't made. most underrated song on the entire album. Mainly the build up,, the climax is good sure but the build up is literally beautiful. i dont know what porter was on when he made this but i would like some,
rhats so cool rhank tou
10 years....
There's plenty of electronic music that's not necessarily big room... Some (NOTE: some) people are acting like Porter is a musical savior who's the first in DJ culture to ever make music that's not necessarily 'mainstream'.
not really the first one, though. joel has done several pieces such as Bleed. by joel i mean deadmau5, of course.
TheKastrel I wasn't saying that Porter WAS the first.
TheKastrel Deadmau5 is excellent, but still, he's not the first in DJ culture to ever make music that's not necessarily mainstream.
I think that atb also has done this shift :)
ThriceQuestioned Who cares about who was first. Let's just enjoy the fact that there are producers who make this kind of music away from the mainstream today.
Porter should collaborate with M83 or Blackmill :O
Yeah if Blackmilll didn't disappear off the face of the fucking planet.
FloppedOver
Blackmill come back!!
FloppedOver Blackmill's HDD became corrupted so he lost all of his new stuff
Omg!!!!! Yesss I agree 100%
or madeon
Hey you, random person scrolling through the comments. Most of the time if people address you like I just did, it’s either to say hi or to ask for likes or something. I hope you’re having a good day right now, but that’s not my full point here.
I don’t know why you’re scrolling through the comments. Perhaps you are just bored. Perhaps you want to see what other people think about the song. But maybe, just maybe, you want to know why this song makes you feel this way. I’ll quote some other people in the comments, who have gotten some of the joy this song makes you feel.
“This feels like Heaven on Earth…” “as if there’s something that I’m missing but something I’ve never experienced…” “I want to live.”
“This song makes me feel as if the end is near. But I feel like someone is there. At the end of a tunnel. I may not know them. But I’ve been waiting for them…” “Through all the pain, existence is crazy and beautiful.”
“I love the feeling of being in complete darkness, in a cave, then suddenly you see a glimmer of hope which leads to more, and more light and you feel like the darkness was never there...” “Everything melts away. The pain, fear, and worries of today and tomorrow...it’s all gone.”
“this feels like some sort of ethereal being is giving you a hug”
Do you see? These people have already gotten part of the story. I might know more of the story, but I don’t have the words to tell it to you… or the words I have won’t work. I don’t know what to do. But I hope you see the things that other people have written, and piece together the rest for yourself, and see the full story of what this song makes you feel, why it makes you feel. Fellow Feeling, Hear the Bells, Goodbye To A World, Divinity. Sea of Voices. Beauty.
Nicely put dude. Nicely put.
I've been feeling this way alot more than usual. I just don't know how to become stronger but how when the essence of hope is fading in me. I just don't know how to realize the gift of life but I do understand that we have a gift like a hug, to me this ease my pain alot.
thank you for sharing all this positively , his music make u understated the life's a bright side
River this should be at the end of a documentary about Worlds
Honestly... There's so much I want to say because of this comment, and if I'm being realistic if I tried to explain it to you then I would be writing a whole report... I don't know if you'll ever read this, or someone else will, but from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.
So.... I'm here, watching the first sunrise of the year listening to this song... it's truly amazing....

This feels like Heaven on Earth...
when I listen to this, I feel like I am a small part of something bigger than myself...
as is everyone else.
We choose who we want to be, and that makes us who we are...
all different, but connected...
deep down inside.
Everyone has a purpose.
You matter!
You have the power to make a change...
to change people's lives, just by what you say!
Everyone has a choice...
it's up to us, as individuals, what we do with that ability.
So, whenever your feeling like you've lost or you can't find your purpose in life...
just keep living, and be a positive influence...
because life is short.
It's alright to feel sad or angry...
just don't let those emotions consume you.
Live your life to it's fullest capacity...
and enjoy every second of it.
Orion Nebula yeah !
Will keep that in mind. That's deep. I will try my best to do that.
@@thotpatrol3566 tryna be deep XD
Yes. Truly a piece, however small, of Heaven on Earth, the soon-but-not-yet. Connection between people, above people. Change, but peace within it all. Purpose, and a never ending...
Preach my brother
Porter’s Music never fails to make me feel as if there’s something that I’m missing yet it’s something that I’ve never experienced. It’s like having a previous life flash before you. I never thought music could touch you so much. Touch you so much your chests gives a small gasp as if it’s inhaling for the first time. As if every breath is knocked out of you. This song just makes me feel like the end is near. But I feel like someone is there. At the end of a tunnel. I may not know them. But I’ve been waiting for them. You can see the final beam of white flash through and as if the earth is taking a final breath, the trees stir for a minute. You feel the sleep kick in and it’s like you’re leaving on another journey. A journey for which you’ve been preparing. A curl of a smile, eyes glinting. You look back on this Earth. Look at the trees whispering softly amongst each other,at the wind softly singing now. At the sun bleeding into slivers of ink and flames And your heart aches for minute. You think of cosmic flares of everything you’ve been through. All for it to end. But you remind yourself that you’re never truly alone. Even if your comfort are phantom arms. “It does look beautiful at the end” you mused.
his music makes u understand that life has a better side to it 💠

Up at 2:12 AM tearing up to this thinking about life
This song literally saved me in the worst moment in my life. Thank you porter!
This song helps me visualize everything I want to achieve in life and the person I hope to become... I listen to it a few times a week, and sometimes on a daily basis.
If this song helps me achieve what I want to, I will include this song in my testimony and book! THANK YOU PORTER!!!!!!
Rob Bonavoglia I listen to this daily
Same here! Exactly!
Did you succeed?
Here's a short story to go with the song..
I wake up on the soft warm sand
Looking right at the sky which was covered in purple clouds
Hearing a strange but beautiful voice
I got up,
My mind unclear
I went through the crystal trees
nearing the heavenly voice.
I crossed fog and mist in search for the beauty that sung it.
Stumbled on rocks and Tripped on crystal vines
I got up everytime I fell on the hard crystals
And finally,
I found the source of the voice
In a clearing, a place where
the purple crystals
turned white
I stare and stare, not wanting to interrupt
No one was singing,
But some thing was
A statue like figure in the very center of the clearing, made of crystals that changed in colour every so often.
Then,
I looked at myself from the reflection of the crystals
And realized...
I was myself
A crystal
PandaCatAmanda jesus

PandaCatAmanda bruh
Fuck
wtf was the ending exactly?
This should be our anthem for everything we truly value in life.
his music makes u understand that life has a better side to it 💠
This is a medicine for people having existential crisis right now. May you find peace and gentleness in finding your own answers to the problems we haven't solved yet.
Nihilism.
My life feels like shit right now. But this song makes me know everything will eventually turn out good.
We all die in the end
dominic hebrew lol
When you think about it, thats really silly to think a song lets you know that everything will turn out good.
The only one to fix that, is yourself. Not a song.
And of course,
We all die in the end....so nothing matters.
I swear the synth is saying "I miss you".
the song just got 10x deeper for me... whoa.
BoarderBarden wow I hear it too.
I thought it was saying "in a perfect world"
Can't be unheard.
3:07
"We'll see creation come undone."
*then the song just gets better*
3:14 I swear my heart stopped for a second there after the drop
this is making me feel some type of way
me 3
heh
Iman Altaf Ikr it's unexplainable
its a mix of nostalgic.. and something else.
I sorta reminds me of the end of the world, and no, not because of Shelter and Sad Machines.
dunno, porter has this apocalypse vibe to it.
Mad props to Porter for doing non big room stuff on his new release despite being blown up n all. I think only a few producers have his kinda mindset..Mat Zo comes to mind, his damage control album was amazing. I just hope the rest of Porter's tracks are as good as this if not better. Sea of Voices sounds more like an intro.
Mat Zo has been rocking my ears for the pass month, hes a gem and a half that guy.
Exactly!!! I didn't see your comment until I wrote mine up top, but I agree emphatically. This definitely has the feel of STRICTLY an Intro song, and will be mixed into something upbeat and bass-driven right as this one ends. If this is indeed the intro track; then fine, but if the whole album is slow and dreary like this song, I will be very disappointed!
taylor eldridge Def an acquired taste though. I didn't care for MatZo at first but he grew on me.
RJ Revlo Don't think it's strictly an intro, but I doubt the whole album will be like this. Expect a few other songs like this, as well as a few more like Language.
My Boyfriend showed me this song today, he said that this song always reminds him of me, It makes me so happy that he connects me with such a masterpiece 💜
💜
So it's 3 am and I'm on a porter Robinson binge on the verge of tears after this song and I totally forgot my phone was about to die and it died milliseconds after the song ended and I didn't know whether to be happy or panic but I just. I just can't express the level of nostalgia and heartache and deep calmness this song gives me
This music makes me feel so alive. Like, I've went through so much on the path of life and only now, things get better for me. Porter Robinson's music makes me feel that way. Anyone else
Light Wolf Productions you're not alone my friend
Same here
The only way to describe this song is...hauntingly beautiful.
Especialy the lyrics.
Ikr
This song allows me to see with my eyes closed, hear with no air, feel with nothing to touch, and to live with nothing but my thoughts. It makes me understand. I hope one day everyone else can too.
This is one of the most beautiful songs that I have heard so far in my life.
This is what heaven sounds like
My brother was having psychosis when I got this album less than a year ago. Wandering around getting sunburnt for a week about before services would help him. This song reminds me.
December 14, 2020 there was a total eclipse. You could see it here in Chile, so I went to the park outside my mom's building with my brother to see it. We grab our eclipse glasses and watched the moon travel over the sun, softly darkening the whole city. I remember listening this song that day, while feeling the breeze through my hair, thinking how ephemeral we are. The day after that I found out I had cancer. This song still reminds me that we are here for a short period, and then soft as shadows we'll become.
Thank you Porter for putting this feeling into a beautiful song.
It‘s 2024 and this song still makes me cry because it‘s so beautiful
