- I take a boat out of Tacoma and go fishing the narrows under the bridge. I catch a lot of brown rockfish. I also caught lingcod, whitespotted greenling and sanddabs.

The rockfish were loving you. No matter what spot you fished, they were around. Nice day to be outside and enjoy the scenery.
Thank-you. We have 33 species of rockfish here but I can usually only catch brown rockfish. On the water it is very beautiful. In town not so much.
I fished under that bridge several decades ago. Using herring, my uncle and I caught about 30 pollack that were thick in there. It was a thrill for him up visiting from Oklahoma.
That sounds fun. I never caught one. How deep were they?
Brown rockfish, brown rockfish, brown rockfish... LOL! 🤣 Rockfish do look awesome with its camo texture skin and sharp fins. Each time, it looked like you were reeling up forever. Beautiful fishing, Peeling Line.
First! Woo. Looks like a great day of catching. Brown rockfish bonanza!
Yes it was! Congratulations you win.
The day was absolutely stunning, that's the kind of day which is a pleasure to get out and fish. If you were allowed to keep Brown Rockfish, you hit the Jack Pot. I've got to get caught up on the videos I've missed.
Nice day on the water!! Never heard or a sanddab. Good multispecies action.
Thank-you. They are lingcods favorite food.
Looked like a beautiful day out there. Lots of rockfish for sure. Too bad there were no keepers, but still fun.
Couldn't beat it. I think we are set for a lot of rain over the next month.
Nice fishing man👍👍
Pacific sanddab are delicious! I usually keep one or two any time I'm out there, they have a pretty good amount of meat and taste like halibut
Sounds like I will have to do a catch and cook. I got a couple massive ones at possession bar trying for lingcod but I threw them back.
Looks like you had a great day on the water catching rockfish! Crazy you only got one greenling this time around. Maybe those fish bites are what they want. Lol. Tight lines my friend. The Piscatorian
Might be. I saw a beauty of a lingcod caught with shrimp from the pier last week. I did get my order of fishbites.
No keepers but you were on them. Looked like someone was looking for a free meal at the end. I really like that boat.
They are pretty nice boats. They have center consoles too. defianceboats.com/
Good job way to stay after them
You caught a ton of rockfish dude. Sucks you cant keep them, but they look fun to catch. Awesome video dude.
Thank-you. They are really fun
Pile of rockfish ! Beauty day to on the water ! Thanks for sharing bud
You caught a lot of rockfish but of course the first couple of fish were gonna be flatfishes of some kind hahaha
Ain't that the truth.
It is. Just got back from fishing area 13. One real nice rocksole followed by nothing but sculpin.
@@ethanstout8226 I heard there were big starry flounder in that area. Are they not very common?
Waoooo mantappp bozzque tetap semangat dan sukses selalu Aamiinn Heppy" goodd fishing
is this still in the Lingcod season now in the area?
4'51" view under the water, do you have anti-water case for your GoPro ?
seems great cool fishing day there! Enjoy as a fishman life ...
I think the season ends next week. The gopros don't need a special case if they are 7, 8 or 9.
Amazing place, and tons of those rock fish they seem to be all over the place, are those good to eat ?
I tried a black rockfish and it wasn't bad. Not the best fish in these parts.
The rockfish were biting well and the weather was beautiful. Have you filmed any underwater videos with your new underwater drone?
Not yet hoping to get out today with it.
@@PeelingLine Sounds good looking forward to seeing the fish you filmed underwater.
Could you tell me what kind of rig you were using? What size weight and hooks? Thanks
Drop shot. 4 oz canonball weight. Size 1 oshaughnnesey hooks. I show it in the first minute of the video. For plastics I use 3.5 inch paddle tails for rockfish and lings.
Great video!
What boat did you use to go fishing?
Thanks. This was a defiance. I am part of freedom boat club and just borrow boats when I need.
Couldn't keep those brown rockfish off the hook! They look like a blast to catch but I'm guessing not good eating since you didn't keep any.
They are okay eating but it just isn't legal to keep them in this area.
I was wondering...are those Brown Rockfish edible? No matter, if you can't keep 'em--shame! Beautiful place; lots of action!
They are edible but you can't keep any rockfish in puget sound. Maybe they will change that since they are more abundant. They are lots of fun though.
I just got into town July 11th, I have 3 poles with me and I’m trying to go fishing for my first time in Washington. Any tips? Wanna take me out with you? I’m a mighty fine deck hand
Try out at les davis pier.
If you ever need someone to go out fishing with you, let me know!!!! Just moved to the area and need some instructions on what to use and where to fish. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Where'd you move from?
Just got a text from a friend of mine carp fishing in the Williamette River in Portland. Is that close enough for you to scratch the carp itch, or are you not interested in carping these days?
I am interested. I was going to go fishing for the in the next couple weeks.
@@PeelingLine Aren't there also some nice sturgeon in the Wiliamette?
@@joescarpadventures Yessir. I haven't gone for those either. Another species I was hoping to target this month. I was gonna do that in Portland on a kayak. The problem for bottom feeder fishing has been meeting people here that actually want to go fish. I've met quite a few online but when it comes to actually getting out it never happens. With these bottom feeders there's a lot of waiting as you know. You can only have one pole here so it isn't really fun on your own.
um i’m pretty sure that was a copper rockfish
Shame the greenling didnt bite sooner. Tons of fish though, you'll get the big lingcod next time.
I doubt it. but I will try still.
@@PeelingLine Gotta think positive my man!
There is a lot of Brown Rockfish in the area. They would get on my nerves After a while I think. At least you didnt get pee on your face! LOL
Haha yeah I am glad. They fight hard and are like bass. I guess it is like trying to catch a big bass and just have lots of small ones hit. But the rockfish put up a better fight than LMB.
6:05 I fish off the shore all the time.
Seems really snaggy close to the shore. You don't get hung up?
@@PeelingLine not really, i lost a buzz bomb once.
I'd have kept the sanddab for bait.
Yeah I should have.
Ho hum beautiful day of catching really small fish. It doesn’t inspire me to fish that area
There are big fish there I just haven't been fortunate enough to catch them. Hopefully this year...
Throw them all back
I did
