    Big up from me my friend . I've got a 22 year old Electrolux RM4401LM , fitted in my year 2000 Hymer . Works fine on 240 , pretty good on gas , (incidentally i push the gas selector in for gas ignition) , but i am having problems on 12v . The warning light is indicating the circuit is not active , so i changed it , and it's still not illuminated , no the fridge does not appear to be cooling either . This weekend , i intended removing the fridge to do another job , and had decided to check the wiring at the same time .
    To be honest , i'm already suspecting a burnt out element , but i need to diagnose a failure , before shelling out . I believe an understanding into how they work , can help in the repair , and to that end you have done a sterling job . I did replay a couple of parts , but you had just the right amount of science , anymore and it would probable go over most people's head , mine included . Add to that the fact i now know where to find these elements , and maybe you can see , this is the best 40 minutes i've spent .
    You may like to know , this is how i learnt to weld plastic a couple of years ago , it's already saved me a couple of thousand , repairing my bumper and both front spats . I've actually just finish converting my radio console to double din .
    So on that note , i now need to go back , and give a thumbs up on part 2 . Thank you my friend , this was a very worthwhile watch .

    Thanks for a very well informed video. Since watching it i have removed fridge and cleaned, checked as per your video.
    I have an odd ball problem. I recently have converted gas system to Gaslow PLG which has worked well. Coincidentally the fridge
    has started to smell a bit like moldy cheese only when door is opened, but only when using gas. No smell when on hook up or 12v
    Have yet to put fridge back in van and connect it up. So will have to see if cleaning etc as cured problem. Any suggestions?
    Cheers again for your help so far.

    • @Gorindakia
      @Gorindakia Před rokem

      I’m not entirely sure what mouldy cheese smells like but if it smells at all similar to rotten eggs, there’s probably gas leaking out, giving off that smell. They add sulfur dioxide to propane and natural gas, which is the smell that makes rotten eggs so bad, to notify anyone around that there is gas in the air since those hydrocarbons typically don’t have a smell. If the smell is rotten eggs, I’d suggest that you don’t use it on the gas setting for more than a minute at a time, just to check if the problem has been fixed as the gas is explosive in large enough quantities, in enclosed spaces (i.e. the inside of the van/camper or inside the fridge itself)
