Great video. But I want to know whether the nipple waterer is better to have a filter or not?
Each nipple has its own "screen filter". With this setup and not having to cut the top off the barrel, we do not have any debris in inside where it would be a problem. I don't see any need for extra filters.
Thanks for watching!!
So does the water beneath the nipple inside get used?
Yes it does mix in when refilled each time. However, I placed it up off the bottom so no sediment or debris plugged the water nipple
What is the tool you used to poke the drum called please?
We call them paddle bits.
Also, where did you get that nipple waterer?
We got the nipple from our local feed store
@@ThunderMountainHomestead The Cooperative?
Should of put 2 more then 3 can get water.
Yes, Absolutely!! That is the plan, We think she may be pregnant. I have the extra water nipples ready to install. The debris screen tends to rust out and close off the drain opening inside the barrel over time. I am just waiting till we have babies!! Thanks for watching. NO WAY. that's how you get the bulkhead on the barrels that don't have a lid?
Oh yeah!!! It worked great, one year in and its still working well
This is Pat from the Azure drop. Can you please give me the name and number for the milk? Thanks in advance!
yes
Whats name of parts
Hey Juan, I used a food grade 55 gallon plastic barrel, a 3/4" bulkhead, a 3/4"to 1/2" PVC reducer, and a 1/2" hog water nipple. everything but the nipple can be found at the local hardware store.
This is similar to what I used... search ---1/2"NPT Stainless Steel Automatic Pig Nipple Drinker
