    once in life ive used a macro lens for portrait, once! and thats the reason. now im using a nikon 50mm 1.4 at 2.0 or 5.6 .. its not sharp to be short. great stuff and perhaps one day i will take my time to learn it, but i love photography and hate heavy time consuming retouching. still, i find this an art. keep up the amazing work.

    Great tutorial showing some real time editing. I do have issues getting rid of some fine lines and spots myself. It's usually the very tiny bright white dots people have on their skin surrounded by tiny cracked dark lines that give the most issues. I found the only way to get rid of those is to zoom in very far and actually draw on the dark pixels with a very small brush of like a few pixels wide and than when they are like done do some burning on the white dots that remain. Most people seem to have at least some of those areas with tiny dark lines and white dots

    I don't really get what she's filling in. A close up image of what to look for in the image would be helpful. Is she just dodging dark lines/dots in the highlight areas and burning bright lines/dots in the darker areas? If so, why not just use the healing brush for all of this. Because of destructiveness? If you even out every shadow/highlight dots the texture will be gone too.

    • @KayleighJune
      @KayleighJune  Před 4 lety

      The healing tools are quite destructive, so I tend to avoid using them where I can. I only use them for fine lines and raised blemishes.
      Dodge and burn is one of the least destructive methods for retouching skin, particularly up-close.
      If you're finding it hard to understand, I have another video here that might help in realising what (and how much) you should be dodging/burning.
