One of the best car fix it videos. No life history, good mix of long shot and close ups and precise tool descriptions. Would have been nice to see one in place.
You can make a hex driver from a bolt that fits the slot, weld a nut on the other end so you can use a standard socket.

Thank you. Really appreciate it :)
I always try and make the best of what I got and it's a bit difficult to film with one hand and do everything with the other. But now been investing over Christmas to have better filming set up. Hopefully will work out ok next year :)

Always disconnect earth side of battery first. What size to remove 3 bolts, is it Torx?

Hi, can you please tell me which Citroen Berlingo engine this is because mine is the 1.9 diesel and may require a different starter motor than the №: LRS02100 in your very helpful video. Thank you, J. Price.

      Hi there and thank you.
This one was 1.9D. I still recommend double checking with your supplier with your reg number to make sure you get the correct one.
      Good luck and stay safe

My Solenoid has gone so do i just replace that or do i replace the starter motor and the Solenoid

    • @AlexTheGrumpyOne
      @AlexTheGrumpyOne  Před 4 lety

I would replace both. New starter comes with new solenoid anyway.

    • @AlexTheGrumpyOne

Does it try and turn? Ground cables ok?
      Any fault codes?
Crack sensor ok? Fuel filter been changed?
Glow plugs... Is the battery right for the vehicle? Sometimes some batteries are not strong enough... As French cars are quiet sensetive on them.
Also some berlingos might have power cut off switch... Like red Button.

  • @robharwood-stamper9857

Can anyone on here help diagnose a fault? I suspect starter motor as battery seems fairly new, no electrical signs of alternator issues, but when trying to start there is a rapid clicking coming from the what sounds like the alternator. This is not the same clicking as a faulty starter motor makes when trying to turn the engine over, the clicking sound is local to the alternator.. Is this an alternator issue or is it something to do with lack of current coming from the starter motor? Help appreciated, thanks
One of the battery earths is quite heavily oxidised but don't think this would be causing a non start
