- Time to start bolting parts back onto the painted shell. In this one we start off by bolting on all of the front suspension, Steering Rack, Lower Arms, Coilovers, Hubs, Fuel Tank and rear beam. All of the suspension has been Polyurethane bushed. Once all of that is sorted we make a start on fitting the Audi TT 1.8 20v Turbo Engine along with the 02A CDA Gearbox using Epytec mounts. We then throw the Intercooler, Radiator and front/rear light in to make the car look a little more car! Next step is going to be trying to figure out all of the wiring so we can get the engine running.

What away to start a Sunday morning…. Cup of coffee, sat on the sofa with the cat and watching another episode on the Golf.
Keep smiling pal and remember your bringing a little happiness to people as well as inspiring the to try new things.
😁
100% as therapeutic as this is to do its the same for many who are watching it.
LOVE the black and red!! As exciting as it was for me to see parts going back on I cant imagine how exciting it was for you.
The 1.8 is IMHO one of the best engines of VW.
I hope I can see this thing in person one day!!
The matt black engine looks amazing against the gloss red bodywork you've got an eye for detail Dan well done mate 👌👌
Dan loving this build. Hats off to you. 👍👍👍
Very impressive nice way to start my Sunday with a coffee. Keep it up
Looks absolutely brilliant Dan..
Yeah. Agree with the others the contrast of the engine and the body work is superb.
That engine bay looks mint, nice to see the lights back in as well. Keeping the red was defo the right decision 👌🏻
Gave me some motivation to get my old 205 GTi done. Won't be to this level but will be enjoyed this summer hopefully 👍🏿
Amazing car you are doing. Waouh... Bruno from France
One bit at a time Dan
Your doing great with this project
And I'm sure I speak for everyone in the CZcams channel
Keep up the great work 👍
Fresh off the press, Sunday just got better. Might have to paint mine Black, looks good with the Red.

Looks the Nuts. Great work 👍

The golf looks amazing Dan well done 👌👌👌
This has got to be one of my favourite rebuild vids so far.you've inspired, and given me the confidence to keep my own classic on the road and not give up on. That all important welding I learnt from you paid off and I now have 12 month mot and on the road again. Fair play to you mate and thankyou for inspiring me.i can't wait to see the next upload.
Perfect ! Hello from Turkey .
looking awesome, I can only imagine that the red with black contrast looks even better in the flesh, the camera probably doesn't do it justice.
Love it! The coming together of it will speed up now. Keep up the good work buddy! Its going to look clean! 😎
YOU SPEND A LOT OF TIME, MONEY AND WORK IN THIS CAR, BUT THE END IS A BRAND NEW GTI..!! THE COLOR IST VERY NICE,!!!...RESPEKT YOU DO A GREAT JOB,..🤙✌
Good progress Dan the Man💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
I see you also have that friend with a beer in a hand. Here in my garage we call him "director" 😂😂
Front engine mount is correct 👌
Great espionage on the Golf GTI, glad to seeing this 1.8t being installed in this VW 😎 I really like that you installed rear disc brake on this Mk1 👍 Keep at it and you will be driving this Golf on road in the near future 🇬🇧
Well done dan! car is looking brilliant 👍
Assembly is one of my favorite parts of the build! Looking sweet man🤙
Thank you bud, Mine too. I have spent a fortune the last couple of days!
So proud of the progress mate, well done….
Have to say that engine looks great in the bay Dan, I wasn't to sure about it being all black but now it's in there it really looks nice! I think a rear disc conversion would be better with all the extra power you have under the bonnet but like all things these days it won't be cheap so maybe get the car finished before add any more extras 😂👍
Excellent Job!😎👍
Nice black Engine Dan.:)
It's looking great Dan ;-)
Looking very good
BEAUTIFUL!
Looking great, get some wing protection covers!! So easy to chip/damage fresh paint.
Good job!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you
Class work mate
Incredible car. Broken the back of the project and homeward bound.

As always mate nice work.. amazing how far it's come and almost at the finish line 🏁
Great progress mate, wouldn't fancy doing the loom personally... but you'll work it out! 👏🏼
well done Dan that is looking just Fine !
Whoop!
Quality quality quality!! Keep up the good work. I bet you feel that your turning a corner!!
Awesome Work men! I love it. Grettings form Argentina!
Tip, you should have started with the brake and fuel lines.
Brakelines and fuel lines are not following the original route 😉
@@DanChambersDAC so they are not going behind te steering rack to the front brakes and an the rear the brake hose from te rear axle to the body is not in the original location? And where does te brake line cross the exhaust tunnel? Between the tank and the body?
@@Tfr2135 no. Running them inside the car
Good job
Man I wish I had a shop to do this kind of work. My garage is cramped
I am very lucky to have this space. I have seen a lot of people do amazing builds in tiny garages too.
That gti is gonna be so much fun to drive when done. Good job so far. It's about time progress is being made. 👍
Sweeeet bro, joy of bolting new/clean mechanicals and body ancillaries. Brake/fuel lines soon?
Man,she's looking so sweeeeeeet
Looking great Dan love the black and red❤️,
Im just letting you know I do recommend you getting the front reinforcement for the front mount as mine and my friends mk1 golfs start to break and tear on the front member 😱 you don’t need to weld or anything so you wouldn’t damage the paint 😉
Love your videos , reminds me of my 1600 LS golf . Not sure about ‘what’s goin on ‘ at the start of your film , maybe you watched too many American videos . Keep up the good work .
Looks mint
Epic!
should have went for a beetle shallow sump, they fit exact to the 1.8t and only cost about £30 and pretty much exactly the same as all the "1.8t" shallows which are always stupidly expensive
awesome video will be insanely mint when its all done!!
Such a grate project! Ceep going. Looking you froom Ukraine. Thanks for your work - a minuts of enjoy at that turbulent times)
Great 👍👍👍👍👍👍
It's coming together very good mate👌awesome build. Will you be doing the rear disc brake conversion?
great progress looks sick 👍what exhaust you useing or are you fabricating your own?
Looks amazing Dan, have you considered raised top mounts?
👍💯💯💯💯👍Perfect golf GTI 20v
Are you gonna do the wiring yourself? I want to do mine from 1.4 to a 1.8 on a mk3
Dan, what is the actual valve layout in the cylinder head please? (I was assuming it was going to be a five cylinder unit having 20 valves) but clearly it’s a four?..
Noooooooooo please don’t use crystal lights 🤦🏻♂️ they didn’t even look good on a Subaru and they don’t belong on a VW of any sort!!!!! Only place crystal lamps belong is the bin!!!!!!!
Nice progress though 👍🏻
I agree but it's his choice.
I would also prefer the OEM hella headlights
@@Ty_____G OE Hella stuff just looks right, you can’t improve on that
👍👍👍
Good JOOB coorect MOOROCO
