    When asked, I often explain to people that skating vert requires a balance of building/managing comfort and trust with the ramp, by essentially doing as little as possible to disrupt the natural flow the ramp provides. Another masterful explanation by Mitchie!

    Feel like an old man but 21 year old ex-skater, I quit because I got stuck. Between all the years of skateboarding CZcams I’ve watched in the past 10 years trying to learn how to skate at 13-14 years old, I’ve never seen someone teach as well as you, thanks for getting me back into skating!

    I can’t tell you how many first timers i’ve seen not commit and put their balance on the back foot and eat it hard when their board goes shooting out from under their feet like a rocket. Stomping down that front foot is imperative.
    I always struggled on going back up the ramp after dropping in because you’re moving WAY faster up than you did dropping in, and the trucks get wobbly and the balance is different at the top when your momentum is gone than it is when you’re cruising straight.

    • @SKATEiQ
      @SKATEiQ  Před 4 měsíci +4

      Ah, yes. That’s a very common feeling! But i might say if you can get your balance right as youre coming to a stop and changing directions that becomes the calmest moment of the whole run. I think most of everything should be built around balancing through the weightlessness instead of holding on tight through the transition. That’s kind of an “open to interpretation” tip but its definitely how i view it
