    Will somebody bring back the Metro Pop Song Festival, please, because it produced a great number of OPM that they have become classics considering that there were only a few editions of this Great OPM competition. Sobrang memorable ang mga compositions dito, not only for The winners but also to non-winners basta nakapasok sa finals. In recent years hanggang ngayon, sobrang daming basurang kanta At boses to the extent na walang kakanyahan talaga ang opm At pati na yong mga mang-aaawit .kung Hindi boses ambulansya , boses pusa na akala mo umiiling sa Sarap sa kama? Nakapanlulumo ang musikang Filipino these days.l para sa akin. Kawawang mga kabataan rin kasi they are not given the right music to listen to na masasabi nating Filipino talaga.

    Regine sang the song using the original arrangement when she guested in Ryan Ryan Musikahan in 1989. She does it very well too. I can't take anything away from Regine for trying out the song and reinterpreting it.
    I didn't like the newer music arrangement of the song for Regine in 1990 which is the one the younger generation knows. The orchestra background with every instrument noticeable in Cris Bermont's original makes the song more epic.

    • @CarloChapelle
      @CarloChapelle Před rokem +2

      I like the arrangement of Miss Bermont’s. But Regine’s live version at the Ryan Ryan Musikahan was much better than Miss Bermont’s who used “falsetto’s” in reaching the higher notes. Nothing wrong with using “falsetto” but it had to be done smoothly. With Miss Bermont, the “lift” in her voice when she shifted from her natural tone to falsetto was way too noticeable. Regine’s live rendition at the 1989 Ryan Ryan Musikahan episode had mire nuances and vocal bravura.

      If you think Regine destroyed the meaning, then you didn't understand the meaning of the song, at all. It's a song about a person expressing her love to someone with much intent. Regine's version, if anything, further highlight the intent with her high notes - expressing her extreme love to someone to the point of shouting it (for the world to hear). Of course, nothing beats the original but it's not necessary to drag the others down.

      @@diamonddrone7504 i get that every singer has different styles and every listener has different preferences. What irks me is how pretentious OP is. Like destroying the message? Come on. The song has a simple message and that every version preserves that. And again, you can like one without having the other. I'm not a fan of Regine. I just happened to bump into this video and couldn't but comment on some pretentious fools acting like they know everything.

      Maricris version is reminiscent of the 70s. Regines is of the 90s even being appreciated to present. To each his own.

      Ginawang ambulansya ni RV ang Narito Ako.
      Maricris Bermont is still the version yet to be surpassed.

    Regine Velasquez butchered this song; she did not know what "glissando" was.

      So that explains why this song from out of dusty obscurity finally became a hit and was a given a second lease on life. Well, Regine has butchered many other songs that are now staples in karaoke bars. Hahaha!

    Kakatawa yung mga dinosaur dito, stuck na sa 70s nilang pag-iisip. Kung tutuusin, kayang-kaya kantahin ni Regine 'to sa style ni Maricris kahit tulog siya, no effort. You can't say the same for Maricris singing it the Regine way. In short, Regine leveled it up a few notches. Maricris is/was a good singer, but Regine is better--Regine is waaaaay more versatile, maraming kayang gawing genres/styles, maraming vocal techniques na hindi mo maririnig kay Maricris. Deal with it.
