Well my theory is that it's based off of sins they do while human, because after becoming a demon they can't control what they do or who they kill. For instance, Akaza killed the people of the opposing dojo. And Gyuutaro couldn't choose either because he chose to kill those villagers. However Daki didn't kill anyone, all she did was stab a dudes eye. And in the end it was also Gyuutaro who chose to turn them both. This is why Daki got a choice but the others didn't, it's a reflection of their human lives not demon ones.
Oh I love that they did the song hope for him it matches him so well. Although the audio isn't there I was able to mimic it perfectly in my mind because of how much I listen to hope it's my second favorite of the NF songs which is my favorite artist!
