Hi, maybe a little late to the party, but I feel like I could give my opinion since I got qualified to an RC in Standard using this strategy. I think Ledger Shredder is not as good as it seems in this list, because it doesn't go even on cards. I prefer Falaiji Archeologist a LOT to it, because it goes even on cards, puts stuff in your yard faster and more efficiently, AND turns your reanimation spells into gas.
I tried out this deck in Standard format, and I was pleasantly surprised. In my version, I included 4x Founding the Third Path in the main deck. After about 20 games, I maintained a win rate of 40%. My main challenges arose against Convoke decks and UW Control. With the release of the new set, I wasn't aware that Geralf would be a fantastic addition. It's time to test again with the new cards.
I’m taking the lion in the fight. When (not if) it kills you it’ll be quick and efficient. When (not if) the hippo kills you it’ll be a brutal crushing death
I don't mind the new editor, but I find the buzzing sound effects to be overkill / annoying. Also in some videos the sound effects are a bit jarring. I do like the newer shortened intro/summaries so overall a good change
Wait, isn't 95% of this deck playable in Standard, sans the Treasure Cruises and Shock lands? I want to try this deck there with either Proft's Editic Memory or the new Championship card to replace the TC's. Edit:I guess something else to replace Opt as well. I can't remember if that's currently Standard legal. Too lazy to look it up. 😅
Probably I could take a lion if I had to fight against a lion or a Hippo. I don't think I could hurt a hippo a Lion I might be able to get a lucky hit in. Also Hippo would probably crush me to death which sounds more painful then a lion breaking my neck.
I love the waste not slander, it is a bad deck that happens to be good against phoenix and vampires, bad against everything else and made to annoy the opponent I also prefer to fight a lion over a hippo all days of the week

In both cases you're probably dead but I'd take my chances with the lion, no shot I could ever beat a hippo
A hippo can snap a 15 foot nile crocodiles back with a bite. Fighting the hippo is only the choice bc the suffering will be less prolonged.

I'd rather fight a lion over a hippo. According to 2022 stats, lions killed approximately 250 people versus hippos, which killed 500.
I think you fight a Lion over a Hippo in almost all cases.
And you still die in almost all cases.
I play this deck in standard and a lot of time people will concede to geralf and mentor
