I have always adored "Can’t Help Falling In Love" by my good friend Elvis when he recorded it almost 60 years ago. This year when the opportunity arrived to record it as a duet with the incredible Janet Devlin I was intrigued as there is about the same age difference between us as to when it was first performed by Elvis and his leading lady in Blue Hawaii.
Janet and I have performed it not as a love song, but as a loving tribute to people very near and dear to our hearts. I am dedicating it to my wife of 54 years, Patricia. Janet is dedicating it to her grandfather Michael. Together, we have created a new version which we believe packs an emotional punch with its hopeful message of love… especially in these difficult times. Thank you for listening.

84? I remember in the early 70's when I went to a grocery store and they had a bin of records from some unknown labels. I found one that had early songs of Gilbert O'Sullivan on one side and Gary Dorsey on the other. It turned out they had the same manager (Gordon Mills). I'm wondering if that's a rare record album.

Beautiful. Janet you are part elfin, fairy or magic with that voice. I grew up listening to Engelbert H. and my parents and he met at a dining bistro/cafe restaurant a la carte Paris when he first started singing romantic ballads. He gave free concert tickets to my engaged parents and I think my Dad was a tad jealous and overwhelmed by such a talent. I saw him in Montreal giving autographs with dark sunglasses and hoards of people around. He always kept his calm demeanor. My mom used to sing his songs all the time or hum them.
My son DJed for our local university radio station. His show featured heavy metal music. My mom would call in and request Engelbert. My son always played “After the Lovin’” for her. He never got any complaints. 😂 Sweet memories.

I see Janet Devlin released this song solo. I have heard many say THIS version with EH has much more passion and quality than the solo version. She is so young, she may not now but one day will feel singing with the extraordinary EH was a tremendous honor.
