How does it have an asterisk if Doublelift's teams were just more dominant? TSM had to go through the lower bracket in 2020 because were the 3rd seed and lost first round...
yeah hard to compare anyone to when bjerg came in the level of stomp he brought with him. there is a reason why most of that TSM roster retired and never saw another team. they were some of the worst players in their roles at that point and Bjerg was still winning championships or getting to finals with those teams. behind the scenes you heard about teams in scrims the mid laner would die once to him and they would literally just FF and remake the game because if bjerg got a kill it was considered impossible to win now.

The problem is that playins is genuinely difficult to get out of this year. LCK, LPL, LEC3 and LEC4, VCS2 and NA3 are competing for 4 slots. Two of those teams are not making it. For NA3 to get through, LEC 4 most likely would have to not make it.

I don’t understand the game better after hearing LS talk most of the time unlike Dom. You can tell Dom is actively thinking about how to close the gap in knowledge between the audience and him. Because in this meta jungle is the easiest role to be consistent on. And because even if you are consistent, you might still not be the type of play style that ids best for the team
The idea that titles arent equally as valuable shouldnt even be a controversial thing to say. If that wasnt the case, Fnatic would be the by far best western league team ever. The only to ever win a world championship, which of course is really cool and it is a worlds trophy at the end of the day but no one is stupid enough to think its even close to as impressive as any of the other trophies.

Definitely not a top 10 player imo just because he didn’t play that long and in season 4 and 5 he wasn’t great imo pretty middle of the pack at that point.
So on the rule bending talk, TSM asked the league for special permission, to pay bjerg in stocks right after C9 got fucked and had to buy the shares back from sneaky/ other players.

I think Danny will retire. And I will be saddened by it, but I won't be shocked. There is a specific mentality that a lot of people have that drive them to be at the top. You see it in droves from Inspired, Jojo, and Vulcan where they genuinely believe they are the best and they want to be #1... idk if Danny WANTS to be #1. I think Danny wants to see League as something fun and something to enjoy without the stresses that come with being #1. That spot isn't for everyone - even the most talented. I hope he recovers mentally and learns to enjoy what it is that he does again, or at least comes to understand where his mental anguish comes from so he can better deal with it next time it happens. Most importantly though, I wish the best for him overall. He is such a nice, humble person and I know he is meant for success in some way and hope he is able to determine if professional League is involved in that in some way.
it never seemed like danny wanted to me #1, especially when he said that he felt relieved that MSI was over and just wanted a break, but it also seemed like he wasn't content with just collecting paychecks, he did seem like he wanted to improve, which is what made him different from the other NA players.
Honestly about the Summit and Aphelios story, I don't think Summit is wrong. He's probably complaining about aphelios despite saying aphelios is bad as soft flame to his jungle. I'm a jungle main, but when I do lane and get tilted the easiest soft flame is to complain how bad ur lane opponent is and say hes winning for no reason. Because that implies the fault is on the other players mainly jgl. I'd assume aphelios top is kind of similar to the other adc top lanes, if the enemy top is good and they have no jgl then you really cant do that much as a melee top. Though these picks are still bad because it puts a pretty big burden on your team, and its easy for jungle to punish. I think this makes even more sense if hes playing with malice jungle because there really is nothing u can do as melee top if your jgl is playing udyr or shyv. I love LS and Malice, and dislike many of summits ideas about the game, but I think summit is right in this one. I dont really see a world where any adc top player in LCS would survive vs like closer lee sin jgl at least in current playstyle of everyone else
@@IamnotfromUSA Why would you pair a resource relient top laner with a resource relient jungle? Morg cant match enemy three camp into top gank, and if she does she is losing because she really wants to play off of tempo clears and level and gold spikes. Then what is morgana going to do with aphelios pressure? When Aphelios stacks 3 waves into tower, morgana has a much harder time diving than most meta junglers, and when aphelios has prior morgana isnt going to be invading and isnt insane at early jungle skirmish unless really good match up and opponent disrespects morg q. Aphelios would much rather be paired with any strong early jungle that can actually play around him and make plays off of his pressure. I love morgana jungle, but trust me as a morgana jgl player u do not want to be paired with a resource relient top laner and vs a low econ jungler. Like tf am I going to do when im playing morg and enemy lee sin 3 camps goes top gank? I can't match it, I can try to punish it by counter jungling opposite side of map, but if lee sin under stands this he can trade his camps for scuttle or invade into my jungle as well. Morgana would prefer to be paired with a top laner who can play weakside.
@@IamnotfromUSAMorg Aphelios doesnt even make sense comp wise. If you draft it early enemy can respond any assasin or dive champion. Lee Sin and Heca both make aphelios laning phase unplayable while also being unstoppable late game bc theres nothing stopping them from going on back line for free. Irelia Akali, Leblanc are all happy here. I hate assasins, but if ur drafting like this then assasins are just winning for free with any sort of flank. Ranged champs are beating this comp bc ur only engage is going to have to be from supp or mid neither provide that good engage tools. Meaning champs like gangplank and corki are insane by teamfights. You also lock yourself out of enchanters. Soraka and Yuumi are both really unhappy without a strong bruiser / tanky front line. Lulu and Karma can maybe work, but I don't think u want them bc then u have absolutely no engage so range fucks u over. The only things morgana aphelios are good into are renekton, aatrox, poppy, trundle, maybe sej. And renekton aatrox are losing into basically everything anyways so. Any mobile or range champ gets free win.
I want EG to play by the rules. At least LCS has a commissioner who goes out there and tanks the aggro with a name unlike LCK, so you got em beat at least in one field. But i cant wait to hear 4 weeks later how esports teams break rules left and right under the pretense of mental health to cover their bottom line. Also wtf are you having rules if you break them as soon it doesn't benefit you? DGon summed up the spirit of the fiasco pretty well. Im glad but im also disappointed.
I would only disagree because of the optics. If they forced Danny to play, there would be too much backlash. Would cost them more in PR to justify keeping Danny due to Danny breaking down on camera. The fans would be on Danny's side. The kid need therapy plus gym not LoL. At least not right now.
Danny shouldn’t bench himself this weekend. I understand going through a very emotional time and bad mental but he will regret not playing this weekend. But the experience of playing LCS a full year and the possibility of winning it all back to back. He should be happy and excited for this experience. He will be okay. Hope if anything he gets subbed in. He deserves to play even if he’s not confident in himself. It’s a team game
Brother, you don’t know Danny personally. Who are YOU to say things like “he will be okay”, “he should be happy”,”he will regret”? You literally have no idea what is going on with his mental, with his personal life.
I don’t like how they broke down things . To evaluate something each piece needs it’s worth. So if your a great player on a bad team , you stand out more because your the best player on your team each game . When your on a great team expected to win you must fall into a role , not everyone can be the top dog . It’s why VIT and TL struggled this year . Each player wanted the team to play around them. I agree certain wins and championships should mean more based on how well they played but I don’t like there examples . Rookie is a great mid laner but if he is consistently getting out played unable to make worlds , it means there were at least 3-4 players better then him . Im not saying titles are the be all end all but there evaluations of each player I just disagree with .
@@DJ1NS4N1TY what do you mean ? When he was in Korea besides 1 year he was out played by multiple mids each year . Rookie doesn’t outshine guys like knight , xiouhu , doinb, and even a guy like scout who is typically hot and cold . If rookie didn’t win worlds he would be looked at like BDD . In fact his rise to stardom began because he was called Faker Jr, dominating everyone. True, he had Kakao, but he also had Hachani. Only reason they won that season title was a weaker bracket and 3 coin flips. “When he went to China he was most successful when on a team full of stars” I mean, that was my point. How does rookie having good teammates mean that Rookie is bad ? Gapped by Xiaohu ? Doinb ? Scout ? Xiaohu Doinb and Scout suddenly don’t have good teammates ? Only reason I didn’t mention Knight is because I’m a Knight fanboy. League is a team game way moreso than it was before, and you can’t win without at least three, maybe two (if you’re absolutely sick at the game like knight) very good players. Rookie’s entire career is elo hell, have you ever watched a 2015 IG game ? 2017 IG game ? Or did you just watch IG in 2018, and then go back and watch the old matches without any context ? I seriously have no idea how you’re coming to the conclusion that Rookie is just not a top tier mid. You literally compared him to BDD. Gumayusi is the next Stitch bro enjoy that comparison that makes no sense and is just there to annoy you, cuz that’s how the BDD comparison feels
@@DJ1NS4N1TY you literally make my point if your long reply with no spaces . Also yes without that title he is BDD , it’s not about being gapped . It’s just about not being good enough to carry to the next step . Like BDD carried his team so hard out of qualifiers last year. You can literally do this for any player when they are hitting a peak . Even Doran has highlights , rookie is always in the discussion but he’s never in the discussion on why a team gets to worlds . Like most years Chovy is on a team he literally Carries to worlds with one other good player . This year he joins a great team and they easily win the region . Rookie hasn’t done that , your getting upset on rookie but nothing I said is incorrect and in your own response you understand his success came with other greats . He is not faker carrying a team to the worlds finals , he’s not Chovy carrying a team to worlds and he’s not a top 3 mid in China which is why he falls .
@@DJ1NS4N1TY if I could pick another sport , why did people forget about how good Dominique Wilkins was ? The answer is simply , he wasn’t as good as magic , Jordan or bird . Now the difference between them is rookie won a championship so his name is always mentioned . So a better player to compare is Rick Barry , when people talk about great SF they go through the list of Larry , Lebron, Dr J and someone always says don’t forget Rick Barry . This happens because he simply wasn’t as good . It’s not a knock of rookie , it’s just he’s a sliver not as good as the other mid laners and everyone knows it
No xmithie on ls list? He was never the most flashy or skilled player, but I feel he was good in what he did and deserved the 4 titles he got and should be on a top 10 list. The list was for me never meant to be a top 10 players with the best hands. It should be what they contributed to their teams or the league, how well they played together with other people and their understanding of the entire game and how they could control it. League is a team game after all. Bjerg is clearly the GOAT of lcs. DL is a good second, even if I dont like him. But Bjerg was better, had better competition, worse teammates, more impact inside and out of the game. DL has a sad story and as always the biggest trash talker. But he was never that good or did more than Bjerg. LCS playoffs have been way more interesting than LCK playoffs imo. Hope Spica ends up on a good team. TL or EG if Inspired goes back to EU. Hans has been a major disappointment this year. Kinda sad to see. Hope to see TL with a new adc next year and Hans goes somewhere with lower expectations, maybe FLY. Dom looks happy when he speaks about his grandma and how shes in good health. Happy for him. Abbe and Clozer looks good on 100T, but the rest hasnt impressed me much this year. Fbi and huhi are nowhere near as good as they were last year. Hope Danny makes a comeback because he has looked amazing when he popped off. Can be one of the greatest as Dom said. I remember hearing about how eastern teams hyped/respected players like DL, as well as saw him as a genuine opponent. The recognition definitely existed, despite the results
Dom, are you saying that Doublelift's quality of titles were not good in 2018 and 2019? He hard carried his team the whole of 2018 and was one of the best players in the 2019 run. 24:00 they're barely beating other teams? They did dominate spring 2018 and summer 2018 with Doublelift carrying.
Bjergsen has won finals with worse teams , he has also lost chances to win titles cause of his own teams. Bjerg staying on TSM for so long hurt his career.
I love Andre, but he's just so bad with veterans. The veteran's are so full of themselves than doesn't heard him and don't follow his coaching. That's why he do so well with young players. They listen, they follow, they learn, adapt and are willing to follow directions instead of being "I am X. I accomplished this X,Z,Y and A,B,C. You can't tell me what i do. I'm the player. I know better"
I'm disapointed how the topic of EG's ADC substitute has been glossed over, I get that decision to aid Danny to recover his mental health is great by EG, no doubt about that, however I cannot believe how LCS decision to selectively apply their own rules based on convenience for their anniversary was glossed over by You guys. In the event of the substitute player being better that Danny in this meta is that still such a great thing? Because at that point LCS are opening the door to teams claiming mental health issues (which are very difficult to prove without a doctors statement) in order to patch up their roster mid playoffs. Not saying that's what EG is doing here, I do believe Danny is struggling mentaly, however this isn't how a sports league should operate. I believe there was space for an interesting discussion here and it was utterly wasted.
literally nobody wanted the rule to force them to play a jgl at adc probably not even 100t and C9, that being said i think its pretty obvious to see that Danny was under serious mental stress and in todays current climate mental issues are treated just a serious as physical ones so I can understand why they wouldn't want to talk about and potentially critize riots decision as it could be interpreted as them not taking mental health issues seriously.
Like it's a big deal Doublift is second - I think the question comes if he is less than that. I personally think Doublelift is #1 - Everyone else is trash. I ain't get mad if the argument is 1 or 2 though.

It's cool that you listen to the stories of your grandma Dom. I've always been fascinated by the whole WW2 period because it's just unimaginable for us that real people went through those hardships. It's important those stories remain alive.
Why the hell was IWD not on the top 10. I don't remember him ever having a bad split, is it just that he didn't lift a trophy. I don't care what his tenure was, he was always top of his role and close to best in the league when he was playing.
Probably cuz he wasn’t in LCS very long banned all of season 3 when it started and retired after season 5

LS has the best skill of talking without saying anything
Perhaps you just don’t get it
@@DJ1NS4N1TY nah he definitely has a ton of game knowledge and is very insightful but he’s too narcissistic and self-referential when he tries to convey his ideas to the audience. When he calls a champion pick “weird” I fully believe he has an internal thoughtful reason for believing the pick is weird but he doesn’t explain himself he just talks about how the pick made him feel, “it’s so weird, it’s so gross, what a disgusting pick here”, is the sum of his analysis most of the time which doesn’t convey anything of substance to the audience.
I don’t understand the game better after hearing LS talk most of the time unlike Dom. You can tell Dom is actively thinking about how to close the gap in knowledge between the audience and him. Dom is thinking “what is it the audience doesn’t understand here that I do and how can I articulate myself in a way where they better understand my perspective” whereas LS has this more narcissistic “I’ll tell you how I feel and therefore how you should feel about these things” he doesn’t even try to sound convincing or if he does try then he’s terrible at it.

When Dom talked about the 2019 series with bjergsen played well the first 3 games why did he completely ignore the massive TL bot lane dif in games 3 and 4 he just says Zven ran it down, TL bot was getting 2v2 kills that series, if you can say bjerg was playing at an elite level you have to say the same for DL
Ya he also failed to mention something Bjergsen has never done, beat an LPL world championship team which had JL, Rookie, Shy in an MSI semi final. The debate ain’t even close.
@@MrDespisedIcon the guidelines specified that it was domestic accomplishments only, not international. But if you wanna spit stupid opinions, Bjergsen got TSM out of groups in season 4 and was one of two teams to take a game off of Samsung White, whereas Doublelift is famous for getting smashed at worlds, but yea beating an IG team that was most likely worn down from just winning worlds and then the preceding Spring…only for TL to get 3-0’d by G2, like man just say you wish you were Leena so you could sleep with DL

the point Dom makes about how every 2019 TL player has top 2 in their role when Doublelift has the GOAT status while simultaneously this roster of supposed GOATs was only able to win against Bjergsen because Zven inted game 5 might be the single most based take i have ever seen in my entire life

Do they make this into a podcast? I can't anything that isn't 2 years old as a podcast.
You drunk?
What Top JG duo wins a 2v2 vs Aphelios and a lets say Morgana JG.

Also wtf are you having rules if you break them as soon it doesn't benefit you? DGon summed up the spirit of the fiasco pretty well. Im glad but im also disappointed.
Exactly. If mental hralth is a priority, then the rules should have already been rewritten to reflect it long ago. This will create a bad precedent.
Not to mention that it would have been EG's fault anyway. Why do you have the coach as a sub instead of a player?
I would only disagree because of the optics. If they forced Danny to play, there would be too much backlash. Would cost them more in PR to justify keeping Danny due to Danny breaking down on camera. The fans would be on Danny's side.

Your Rookie metaphor is trash, he doesn’t get “outplayed”, his teammates genuinely sprint so hard. Rookie is like 2014 Faker but repeating every year
@@DJ1NS4N1TY what do you mean ? When he was in Korea besides 1 year he was out played by multiple mids each year .
When he went to China he was most successful when he was on a team full of stars , Jackielove and theshy literally at there best are top 3 at there position .
Rookie doesn’t outshine guys like knight , xiouhu , doinb, and even a guy like scout who is typically hot and cold .

TSM should get Karsa and keep Maple.
