GRAND DESIGN ROOF REPAIR with RV ARMOR

- In this video I am sharing recordings made by Kevin and Dawn Kline with their request and permission. They experienced a leak in the roof of their Grand Design Solitude S-class 5th wheel. After a few attempts to fix the leak the decided to have it repaired with RV Armor. Here is the process of the repair.
I am a single female traveling full time with my 2 Yorkies Dee Dee and Ziggy. I have a 2012 Airstream Flying Cloud 20c. She is small but the perfect home on wheels for me. Since there is no place like home that’s how she got her name, Dorothy. It follows naturally to name my channel name is Following the Yellow Brick Road. We had this life time roof put on our 5th wheel last year and so glad we did it. The warrenty goes with the RV if you sell it too. Great video Dawn.

Hi Shirley! It just never ceases to amaze me how these different companies…and, not just RV manufacturers…sells shoddy made products and still sleep comfortably at night with no bad conscience of the crappy work they’ve sold to us at very expensive prices. I pray that Dawn and Kevin get restitution on the money they had to spend to repair the water problem by having to install a complete new roof. I can remember vividly the days a company would turn out exquisite products mainly to keep customers coming back…I guess this day and time they have the mindset of “I’ll screw this customer, make a greedy profit, and, move on to the next one and get their money too” SMH. Kudos to the man replacing the roof, as, he appeared to be very professional in his works. Stay safe, Shirley, and thanks for sharing! ~Jim~

So sorry this happened to them. I do hope that it was covered by warranty.

Not covered under warranty because Kevin made immediate protective repairs. Full timers can’t wait as long as it takes to get GD to repair such an issue. We knew this when the problem was discovered, but the leak had to be fixed right away.

I just purchased a grand design imagine aim 15rb not I'm seriously worried after seeing this.
Just make sure to walk your roof and inspect it frequently. I’ve seen a lot of videos from rv dealerships that show the roof and if you look close there are ripples in the material they use. Stay vigilant

If you have to replace the gutters after 10 years (or whatever) due to deterioration, can they reapply it over the replacement?
Good question I’d have to ask my friend who owns that rig. You may have to inquire with the company you are considering

Great info. Am considering RV Armor also. I searched Amazon for the solar panel mounting brackets you showed but did not find them. Would you post a link for those please?
