Nonsurgical correction of a Class III malocclusion with miniscrews｜【Chris Chang Ortho】CC565

A 17 year-old female was diagnosed with severe Class III malocclusion and deepbite. The patient preferred a camouflage treatment with extraction of the lower third molars. A passive self-ligation appliance in combination with bite turbos, buccal shelf and IZC miniscrews, and Class III elastics were used to retract the lower arch. After 22 months of treatment, significant improvement in esthetics and function was achieved.
一名17歲的女性患者經診斷為骨性第三類錯咬合伴隨深咬。病患選擇不開刀的掩飾型治療計畫，拔除下顎第三大臼齒，合併使用自鎖式矯正器，咬合墊高及矯正骨釘，以及第三類橡皮筋將下顎齒列往後拉。經過 22個月的治療，牙齒美觀和咬合功能皆有大幅改善。

Wow I learnt a lot from this case. It’s a genius move by fixing the issue at Centric Relation rather than MIP. Opening the bite definitely helped retract the lower segment. The genius of self ligation also worked well.
