- After beating them 2-0 at Glanford Park on Boxing Day. A trip to West Yorkshire for the return fixture. With a following of over 1500 Scunthorpe fans giving Farsley a new attendance record. What could go wrong, turns out nothing. A goalmouth scramble in which Evans lashed the ball home. Then some awful acting in the first half, resulted in a red card for each team. Assenso and Whitehall being the recipients. Though the ref didn’t have much of a view to see what happened.
After a downpour, which in all fairness I was worried about as the pitch didn’t look great. The second half started and luckily the rain abated. For me Farsley were the better team and if they could get a shot on target we might have been in trouble. Eventually the heavy pitch told. Not before Atkinson received a second yellow to be sent off on his 300th appearance. Guess it won’t be a game he’ll forget, for all the wrong reasons. Then Elliott with good hold up play, turned his man and out the ball on a plate for Shrimpton to score the 2nd and put the game to bed.
Credit to all at Farsley Celtic for getting the game on and the hospitality shown. Hope the gentleman taken ill is recovering well. Also credit to all the Scunthorpe fans travelling across to see us win. Happy New Year to you all.
Next up at GP, Boston visit on Sat 6th Jan, see you all there #UTI
What fantastic support. A massive presence with three points as well.
Yes was good to see us travel in good numbers and pick up the 3 points 👏🏼👏🏼 Hope you’re keeping well 👍🏼
The freedom to stand and watch you're team whilst having a beer, things aren't that bad Gareth!.
Haha be ok if I drank - tee total here. Though hot covered in enough of it when that first goal went in.
Just come across this channel great content! Non league is wonderful despite where you truly belong. Enjoy the freedom of walking around! 👍🏻
Cheers for that. Thats the first ground we’ve been to, where it hasn’t been segregated. So was nice to move around for a change 👏🏼👏🏼
Great blog, great support.
Cheers, yes was good to see us travel for it. 👍🏼
Great vlog.
Cheers 👏🏼
Farsley pitch is shocking like the rest of the ground needs some serious TLC. Great result for Scunny in difficult conditions !!!
We have not got a lot of money mate be thankful there is a pitch
Is what it is, in some respects we’re spoilt getting to play at GP every other Saturday or so. Even our ground is looking tired. The hospitality was second to none though. Just glad we got the result we did 👏🏼 That pitch will only get worse in next month or so 👀
Hopefully that gate put a bit in the bank for you 👏🏼👏🏼 Good luck with rest of season.
To be fair it had rained heavy all week and all morning on the day of the game...
Quality stuff as usual 👏
You have brilliant supporters. To carry on through what's happened makes you heroes, and you deserve promotion.
Cheers mate 👏🏼👏🏼

Cheers Ian 👏🏼 Here is hoping too 🤞🏼
Is it worth showing this to the club. Doesn't look like Danny did anything in there?
Jimmy’s already put in an appeal
