  • Spend an hour with Iman Bukhari and Courtney Walcott exploring how to talk to kids about racism. This is especially made for educators and teachers teaching k-12.
Iman Bukhari holds a Masters in Multimedia Communications and is the CEO of the Canadian Cultural Mosaic Foundation. She has worked and volunteered in the not-for-profit sector for more than 10 years. Iman received the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation’s 30 Under 30 award, and is the producer of the documentary YYC Colours, which examines racism in Calgary. In turn, she has been a trailblazer in both multimedia storytelling and anti-racism advocacy.
Courtney Walcott is a local teacher, Anti-Racism advocate, and community organizer. Since moving to Calgary in 2006, Courtney has seen many cultural, social, and political shifts throughout the local community that has inspired him to be a more active participant in directing transformative change. As a teacher, he applies this lens within his pedagogy everyday with the hope of helping students navigate a complex societal atmosphere that exists outside of the walls of education. As an Anti-Racism advocate, Courtney works with local community members to push forward restorative platforms that target
systems of oppression that exist throughout our history and today.
