A lot of times for Geoff's videos they are simply him, his wife (Kathy), and a camera. The more elabrste ones have a few more helpers but he keeps it simple and enjoyable. Did you notice when Geoff and Kathy touched their laundry baskets turned from grey to white. In VP, who ever does the arrangement also plans (and usually edits) the video. So roughly 50% of the VP videos to date were done by Geoff, while the other 50% were done by Layne. Looking ahead we are anticipating Eli beginning to share full responsibility, so each is doing every third video instead of every other. Geoff plays the doofus so well, (see it also in the Elivs song Way Down) and I know Elvis would enjoy this as he never took himself seriously and had a great sense of humour. Loved the country feel of this. Often it's only him and Kathy (his wife) on these shoots. For instance, in one shot it's possible to see a camera set up in the corner. He uses three static cameras on this type of shoot, to get the different angles. In his Folson Prison Blues video it was just him and Kathy doing it all. Other times he ropes in other VP members to help out.
Great reaction. Took a sad song gave us a little relief by having fun with some "country "music tropes and handing up a hopeful ending with lovely vocals... and an easter egg hunt for Christmas too boot.
That's such a sweet story about your grandmother. Music is a great memory holder. Geoff is also a fan of Elvis, and he definitely kicks you in the gut right out the gate on this one with his bass. You should check out his version of Way Down, and VoicePlay has done Return to Sender in their Loop series where you get to see some bts of them putting the song together part by part.
