- Sky News host Chris Kenny says the “bad news” is the reaction from President Biden to the US Supreme Court rulings on presidential immunity.
“The bad news for the free world today is not the US Supreme Court ruling in Washington on presidential immunity but the reaction of the president Joe Biden,” he said.
“The hysterical reaction from the usual coalition of Democrats, media commentators and activists is wrong, this is not a threat to democracy.”

Exactly right. We are, and always have been a constitutional republic. The founders knew a democracy would fail quickly. Ben Franklin said: "A democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what is for dinner". I learned this in 3rd grade civics class back in the mid 1960's. They no longer teach American History or Civics which is why the democrats can lie about our founding and get away with it. From the pledge of allegence: "...and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands..." Note it does not say to the democracy.

However, our republic is a democratic republic. “Our democracy” is the ability to vote for our representatives in democratic elections rather than having them appointed etc. I agree that none of the Supreme Courts decisions on presidential immunity affect “our democracy” in any way.

What you said is very true, we vote for our representatives who in turn, vote ( supposedly) for the things we would want them to vote for and against. That is all part of what a republic is. I have also heard "experts" claim that since congress votes on items and the majority rules in congressional votes, ( not always) that this make us a democracy. It does not. Too many people confuse the act of voting with being a democracy. CNN blames Trump for spreading this rumor that we are not a democracy, showing their ignorance. We can agree to disagree as technically, as you said, not a huge deal. It is just sad to see our history being rewritten by ignorant democrats. In casual conversation I don’t know that it matters much, with the caveat that people understand that we have a democratic republic that does not in any way function like a true democracy does. It is frightening that a vast majority of the voting public seems to be so lacking in civics knowledge, and that the media and politicians are either just as ignorant or worse and more likely are intentionally trying to mislead the uninformed.
