Space Engineers is a voxel-based sandbox game set in space and on planets, developed and published by Czech independent developer Keen Software House. In 2013, the initial developmental release of the game joined the Steam early access program. During the following years of active development, Space Engineers sold over one million units. In total as of 2019 the game has sold over 3.5 million copies In May 2015, for approximately a year and a half, the game's source code was officially available and maintained by KSH to assist the modding community. On December 15, 2016, the game entered Beta and was later officially released on February 28, 2019.
The game is a sandbox game about engineering, construction, exploration and survival in space and on planets. Players build space ships, space stations, planetary outposts of various sizes and uses, pilot ships and travel through space to explore planets and gather resources to survive.

What is your favourite new block or feature from the update? Let me know!
I like the new corridor blocks with floor alot. Enables new compact large grid ship and base designs :)
The Console blocks, no contest.
I have an on-again-off-again ship project sitting on my hard drive. I wanted the bridge to have a big "command center" vibe, meaning lots of stations. I initially went with Spacebar's Yamato-esque consoles but later decided to look for something else, so in the meantime I filled the place with standard control seats until I found something better. With the adoption of the new Console block family I can finally announce that my ship project is "COMPLETELY VANILLA".
I really like the truss blocks
Can’t really pick only one. The glass corridor looked handy.
Corridor, bay and truss will really improve compactness of designs.
I like how keen has been adding updates that allow people to do things that you could only do with scripts before
Yeah, it's way more convenient to use the blocks than scripts.
@@Zer0sLegion In fact, the functions they have added are for Xbox and PlayStation users, because they cannot use scripts like on PC, and the scripts have a greater variety of functions than the vanilla blocks.
@@juanfranciscoozunapulido3708 Also servers where Scripting is disabled to prevent people using the function maliciously.
Servers don't always like allowing scripts either so even PC players don't always have them.
Even so, many of these blocks are way more simple to learn and use than messing with scripts@@juanfranciscoozunapulido3708
I love that space engineers has been consistently been releasing new blocks that make it so that we have more to build with and new function, ive bought every dlc because they are genuinely beautiful and i never feel like the break the game to not have
I love how cheap the dlcs are as well.
@@geoffvanwagner655 i miss when games used to do this more often
Welcom back to CZcams
Thanks 🙂
the jump drive idea is really good. it should be a thing
Here's hoping 🙏
The new windows and the corridor blocks are truly awesome, and are for me the best blocks of this update. With the consoles at the second place.
I do wish they had added a variant of the corridor block that has a ladder going through it though.
Yeah, they are really cool!
I haven't been playing recently bc of life,, but god I love SE so much, this game has come so far like I'm STILL impressed that they added planets and moons.
That was a while ago now😅
Can't wait to tinker around with the action relay block! I currently have a multi-level elevator that would certainly be improved with this block
ive found it useful to use a event controller to make a sound block play the "power on" sound when my jump drive or railguns are ready to fire
Yeah, that's why i've been doing
I cant wait to really get useage out of the relay.
In theory, if you use timer blocks as "Logic Flip Flops" you can make a signal multiplexer, and get far more than "100" channels out of a relay.
What i need that many channels for? no clue. Ill have to make a problem to fit the solution just to say i did it
four wireless controller ships connected to a gaming computer station
Inset wall is the best thing of the DLC xD
I hope they expand them further.
I would like to have Doors, Ladders, Air vents, button panels and LCD screens that fit snug into that same inset wall shape.
I know that's asking a lot but the blocks to me, along with the corridors set a new standard I'd like the next round of cosmetic additions to match.
The relay blocks are 100% the best addition. The uses are extensive. trigger hanger bay's from your ship, activate a return home script if you die with a ship that doesn't have a spawn point or its been damaged, you can get drone reinforcements from multiple base locations now, just so much can be done.
the accept signals from everyone would allow for automated docking control information. Cargo ship approaches a trade station, they send signal, stations automatically relays information on which docking ports are available based on what's connected or not.
Bru I felt that "better wifi than wifi company's in the uk" got upgrade package can't use wifi in the bedroom to bingen watch yt at 4am
My Wi-Fi is 20x slower than the UK average with no faster option 😭
That wifi blocks is great as outpost defence tower to alert you when enemy approaching without their antenna turned on.
Instead of stealthy approaching you until they're 2km close.
It would be cool that programming would be more accessible and even having the capability to use camera for artificial vision. Custom seeking missiles would be very common.
Also being able to see cameras on the displays would be very useful as well
Th one person which is the reason why i like space engineers has just posted a video, and was unseen since 6 month, ngl i though you stopped space engineers and i am too braindead to go see twitch for some reason ... nice seeing you again !
I've been active in the discord, just been busy being ill and stuff
Welcome back!
Finally, you bring another great video!
I saw the live stream announcement of this new update, and to be honest I was surprised when they showed the possibility of staking anything!!! A quality of life feature that is very useful!
As for the new blocks, they are all very well thought out. The new update to the antenna is very useful and necessary for a long time.
The new blocks with built-in lights are really good!
In your opinion, wouldn't it also be necessary to refresh the Gatling Turret (+more weapons)?
If they are investing a lot in the next update related to exploration, I hope they don't forget to add some kind of door+connector to be able to move between ship and base even without a space suit.
Keep up the excellent videos! (I already missed it lol)
We need a new Gatling turret, I need it so bad!
Thanks for coming back, your coverage of the update is so much better and concise as others.
😅Glad you think so!
Looks like it's time to update my ship/station designs
It certainly is retrofitting time again.
Yeah, I need to update Apollo with all the new block😅
They need to add the control grid option for the wireless controller so we can much quicker control certain grids rather than have to dig through menus to find it
That would be cool!
Hay, good to see you around again. I was getting worried after we didn't get your video for an update.
More to come!
Haaa finally an update video that does not only make a superficial description of the block but explain somewhat their functions. EXCEPT ONE : Please test the Claim NPC grid, because it does not work as you think.
I couldn't get it to work, I'm sorry🙏
I know it's for claiming the blocks for PCU but I couldn't get the button to appear to test it.
i haven't watched you in months nice you're back, Space Engineers has been detailed atm.
Now I can finally use thrusters on subgrids, although scripts might still be easier
I looove to finnaly see some high quality space engineers content again :)
🙂
Well I almost thought you were gone.
Welcome back to CZcams
For the EVERYONE option, you could set up a station hangar with retractable landing pads and a broadcast controller that tells approaching ships what channel they need to be on for the chosen landing pad to extend out for them.
Yeah, I was more joking about people using it to spam the chat lol.
Appreciate your videos duder. Top tier content all around.
Glad you enjoy it!
The narrow corridor is a nice addition but I feel they need an L shape version for corners.
True, I was thinking that when I was looking at them.
A variant of the Helm that matches the new console blocks was my first thought when i got the DLC
I think they're afraid to add cockpits to DLC after the "community" reaction last time but here's hoping!
Best space engineers channel on youtube, thanks for the news on the new update
Thanks to you too!
Great to see you back! You were missed.
Thanks!
The new corridor blocks remind me of Vaults from Fallout.
They do! I wondered what it was that made me like them.
The reason the "Claim NPC Grid" doesn't show up is because all the NPC grids need to be deleted so the NPC grids can spawn with that option, because if you don't delete all the NPC ships you will never see the new option because they were around before the update, so you have to force the NPC grids to spawn with the new features. I had the same issue until i deleted all the NPC ships and when they respawned they had the option to claim there Grid straight after.
I put a timer on jump drive ships. When I jump, I start a countdown until it's charged, which turns on blue flashing lights around my ship.
Neat idea. I have something like that with Railguns and the event controller to tell me they're recharged and ready but it looks like that's a bit redundant now after the update.
I was looking to see if the Event Controller could do something for it so I could make the broadcast controller tell me it's charge status.
@@Zer0sLegion The event controller can react to stored power in jump drives and trigger messages in the Broadcast controller so it should be possible.
@@MediumRareOpinions Yeah, that's what I was looking at
I tried the new doors with the ducts too, hopefully Keen will add that...
Also I've noticed something that I don't think anyone has touched on, the in-game music & the music from say a Jukebox doesn't run with the same option in the menu. I've always hated how if I wanted to use the Jukebox, I'd have to listen to it with the normal background music overlapping but I think Keen fixed that🤔👍
I always have music muted so I have no idea, but if they have changed it, that's great!
God I love the new broadcast controller. I was able to do all of that with scripts before, but just like in Minecraft using commands feels just worse than using the vanilla blocks. I already experimented with sending digital signals via the relay and it works amazing. Currently working on an automated connector assignment system, that tells approaching drones where the, can land. (Useful if you have more drones than connectors)
New to space engineers I really wanna use these new blocks to make combiner elements to builds but I'm still working on the auto docking/connecting lol
When the world needed him most, he returned
🦸
I love the truss/lettuce joke!
The Narrow Stowage Corridor does indeed have storage container in it, it is in the far right on one of the shelfs, they do have default volume however so... imagine a large grid container, on default settings... That is the volume it has
Yeah, I was just joking. Although, it's not conveyored so I don't know how useful it is.
@@Zer0sLegion Haha, fooled me xD
That concept block looks like an assembler, considering the window on the right side and the mech arms within.
It is an assembler, I'll do a video on it soon.
I wonder what's going on at Keen, they've been greatly improving the game lately!
They've been working on the game since it released 1.0 on steam, just the things peoples want have changed over time.
@@Zer0sLegionWell, I've been following the game even before the planets update, and it was long criticized for having a bad initial player experience, which is actually improving a lot in recent years. Instead of focusing on stuff that is interesting to implement, they focus more on the player experience. It's certainly a good thing, game developers mature and improve the game in places where it lacked for years.
He’s returned!
After 1000 years I'm free!
Babe wake up, Zer0’s legion just posted
🏃♀️💨
It would be awesome with a "character relay tool"
Trigger grid actions from hotbar outside of cockpit 😍
I love lighting (and hydrogen engines!)
DAMMM!
😜
I am gonna use this gladly. Thanks. This is gonna be so fun! Other than having new ways for others to kill me faster and easier than they already can...
I just want discoverable bases to use as a starter base
Hoping they make smaller Jump drives & for small ships
Maybe next update!
Everytime I watch one of your videos it makes me want to play Space Engineers
Every time I make one of these videos, I want to place Space Engineers again lol
I liked this video so much that I smashed that like button like 4 times
Thanks Zer0, helps a lot!
Glad to hear it!
I can state for a fact that having only 100 channels is going to ensure that we get crosstalk incidents in multiplayer.
That's 100 channels just for you, 100 for your faction and 100 for everyone. You'll be fine.
Nice, to see taht you are makeing new videos
Thanks! 😃
The first one is literally electronic warfare
Have 1 on every frequency and set to enemy grids so when your in range if any enemy with these things, you can activate their random features
Hahaha, if that works, it would be funny.
@@Zer0sLegion literally just
enemy: "WHO THE FUCK KEEPS TURNING THE LIGHTS OFF?!"
You: *maniacal cackling from 3k out*
@@Zer0sLegion oh wait shit nooo...it doesn't work how I thought it would DX
I'm sure someone could find a way to do it tho-
@wyvernbravo well maybe if you steal one of their blocks you could use thier own transmitter against them
The only game in which I have all the dlc, they just don't miss.
I wish you could send the signals from the players hotbar!
Would be cool if cokpits and steering consoles would have option of custom keybinding and mouse sterring added to actions like movement of specific rotors/hinges and pistons.
There's a mod for that call mechanical keybinds but I would love it as a vanilla feature.
The stowage has storage, check the shelf, and don't make it yellow.
I didn't say it didn't have storage, I said there's no stowage 😜
I still believe the jump drive should not exist in the next iteration of SE
I agree as long as it doesn't take a million years to get somewhere
For me personally the main attraction are all the decoration blocks if keen software can get these broadcasts blocks and the relay controller to actually work with laser antenna I'll consider using them they're dead items to me that can only be used for cosmetic uses due to the limitations of their distance
They were showcased at working with the laser antenna, is there an issue with it?
0:27 what i felt like waiting for a new zer0 upload.
Lol😅
Welcome back mate!
Thanks!
I was initially disappointed with how little was added after so long since the last update, but small improvements they've added along with the main stuff is really nice still
A lot of this is making way for the next update.
If channel 69 is not the most used channel, I will be very disappointed in all of you.
Hi, regarding the last part (related to controlling a ship like in Star Trek), can't you use a remote controller while manning any of those console stations?
On the ones with seats, yeah, but it's not the same.
He has returned, and stowage is definitely the best new block added
Indeed, the light makes it all worth it.
I missed your vidios so mutch 😂
zeros back, yay!
No, this isn't true! The zer0 has returned! SOMEHOW ZER0 HAS RETURNED!
It would be nice if the add an actual boss to defeat or something
Next update😉
Survival and Exploration Update.
@@Zer0sLegion rs? 👀👀👀
The way I track jump drive charging is by watching my power bars on the bottom of the screen. The jump drive's a power hog while charging. I'll see it running at, say, 20% power usage while the drive is charging. Then the power usage drops to 8%. Time to jump!
Yeah, it's different for every ship though. Would be nice if there was a universal way to see it.
your BACK!
I AM!
Space Engineers has had Wi-Fi for a long time. But this allows it to be more automated.
🙄
I worked on something like this Years ago, transferring info using an antenna, but it was, frustrating..
They changed the code around that time and broke everything I’d done, so I walked away.. I’d built a massive ship that could build new ships, find asteroids, mine them, process them, and expand. It was designed as a self-supplying rest station, for people who needed more fuel, oxygen, anything.
Well, it's vanilla now so it should be way easier!
@@Zer0sLegion Maybe, but all my old code is broken, as well as the mods I used in the build. 😭
the goat is back!
🐐
I love that they made pirating NPC ships not a pain in the butt! After a while it gets pretty tedious, and not the fun kind either.
Yooo the Pokemon action replay thingymajigs
finally i can open hangar doors from a ship
I was expecting Quick Start to function like a "resume most recent save" I feel like that would make more sense to have on the main menu.
Isn't there still the "continue" option we've had for years?
@gamerwolf-ne1yl not on the main menu
There's an option to load the latest save, I use it all the time when I play.
welcome back dude. was hoping you hadn't totally given up.
Nah, I was never gonna give up, I was just gonna upload a bunch of videos in a week but that doesn't look like it's gonna happen now.
@@Zer0sLegion glad to hear it. I look forward to your videos almost as much as Thisoldtony vids.
He hath returned
💪💪
Aw fuck now I have to reinstall. There goes another 200 hours
They always get you😅
Favorite block or feature? The answer is YES, and will always be YES.
YES is always the answer!
I subscribed, you better make another video and it better be in the next month or two.
Don't worry, new video next week!
@@Zer0sLegion ⏳
awesome new update
Yeah it is!
On xbox we got the in game scripts and unknown signals i haven't tested but do these even do anything? I what they do pc but my pc is too weak to play space engineers
I doubt scripts do as they can't run client side on Xbox.
You're alive ?!!
😈
@@Zer0sLegion 😦
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Hes back!
I AM
Hello. I guess it won't be long before someone creates a mod to convert the truss to antenna and the consoles to helm blocks.
I think its quite easy to do in SE :)
I was looking at doing it myself, but I haven't had the time
Bay windows they are so sick.
I LOVE the truss blocks, the bay windows, and the consoles.
Same!
Is it possible to make missile out of it and attach to enemies and control their ships
I've not tried it but it's worth an experiment
Could in theory dock a action relay could you use it like an emp and disable thrusters and guns
Only if they had an action relay on their ship that allowed that.
I'm only new to the game and not gotten up to a jump drive yet but can you not link a event controller to a jump drive and a light or the new message block to tell you when it at 100%?? I was hoping you could.
Yeah you can, it's just a very awkward way of doing it.
YES! I love you 🥰
💖
Idk but couldnt someone if they had triilions of years make the internet like irl
And like minecraft redstone up a game like that first ever game made ping pong or something I forgot what it's called
