These carbs are excellent, and simple to rebuild. I have one on a rotor tiller that sat unused for at least 20 years, long before the pulsa prime-cleaned the tank, carb and snorkels and it runs like new.

I may have asked you this question before so forgive my memory.
I have the same briggs&stratt mower, it runs but seems to missfire from the exaust, sounds like a compressed air gun being tapped for a split second.
Plug/wiring/coil gap/coil earth and kill switch have been checked/cleaned.
The carb i cleaned carefully, also removed the center jet/venturi part and cleaned all the through holes with a very thin copper strand and alcahol.
Still the same and its never changed, still runs :-/

After the rebuild I had a little gas leak under the carb and doubling the gasket did the trick.I used the old gasket and a new gasket/diaphragm to fix mine.

It all boils down to this: You got to be smarter than the carburetor.
The kids that call the carb "crap" because it's plastic don't have a clue.
This carb/tank is one of the easiest money-makers for a shop.
    The carb can't corrode, either.
Briggs got it down with this setup.

My B&S runs rich after installing a new carb gasket. Ran very well just before running out of gas.

you probably have trash in the carb somewhere, don't expect to ever see what it is it will be really small. you need to take it apart as far as possible and clean everything, then clean it again, put it back together and try it. i could be wrong, but 99% of the problems with small engines will be trash in the fuel that makes it to a tiny hole in the carb.

I have the same carb on a craftsman pressure washer. The engine starts and runs a short time after priming, then it conks out. If i catch it before it conks out and push the primer bulb, it keeps running for awhile. I assume it may be the fuel supply. Question is : what is the hose going to the carb intake? How does the gas get into the carb is it the diaphragm? Is the diaphragm the fuel pump?

Do you have a video on how to properly install the governor/idle springs on a Briggs and Stratton motor #10A902? It looks exactly like the one on this video. Thanks

I have a self propelled Craftsman EAGER 1 Mower Will start run for about a minute & then stall. Have to wait a couple of minutes & prime the same It has a carb that I cannot find in any video. Part # 7.538F7H the Model # is 917 377 362 the Engine # is 143.976602. The jet is plastic, the bowl is plastic. I sprayed whatever ports I found out. The needle is held by plastic so I did not take it apart but blew into the carb. Air passes when held upright & does not when upside down. Any help would be

I've got a question. The two pieces of metal (tabs?) Mine don't have any tension. I'm just got the carb off and going to go clean that now... But how are the springs supposed to be set? Mine are loosey goosey

    Hi
Have you ever double up on the gasket due to carburetor being warped? If you did would you place 2 gasket and diaphram or gasket diaphram gasket?
    thanks

First of all thank you for this video.
I have the same lawn mower engine and in the back of the engine there is the cable to enable it to run (relasing the lever shuts the engine). There is a wire disconnected that I have no idea of its purpose and where should it be, do you know?
    Thank you.

You might mention that the diaphragm goes down first on tank.
Don't you just love these engines/carbs? Rebuild a fuel system in 15 minutes...or less! Easy money.
Ever see the CZcams mow-rons who claim this is the worst carb ever made? 2 moving parts? Lasts a lifetime unless some ham-fisted "mechanic" has worked on it and somehow broke it.
    Good video, sir.
donyboy73 could learn from you. I tried, but he cussed me out and blocked me. Weird kid...
