There's a lot of interesting lyrics to Oasis to be honest but you're right that often it doesn't tell an obvious single narrative. Often times they can be taken multiple ways.
I would really recommend watching a video from @JamesHargreavesGuitar and watching his video where he broke down the lyrics to each song, there is actually an interesting story behind the songs.
It's about nostalgia and looking back on life in general or relationships but also a tribute to John Lennon (Beatles, biggest band/musicians ever) There are references to John and Yoko and the opening piano riff is almost identical to imagine. Definitely some cryptic/psychedelic lyrics there too though.
Dont look back in anger is literally the UKs swcond national anthem and Europes song of defiance on terrorism. Noel cleared this up on reel stories, dont look back in anger is about a women toasting her life admitting she messed up along the way but she's fine with that and knows everything is ok. This song does mean so much to so many, even people in brazil, japan, Argentina who don't understand it or have english as first or second language will sing it all the way through
You should do either “ some might say “ “ listen up “ or “ the master plan “ from oasis , fantastic lyrics in them ones , a lot of oasis lyrics are just nonsense tho so bare that in mind haha
I think the closest coherent story is talking about walking past someone you once loved knowing it’s too late and remembering her or him telling you to not look back in anger as maybe you would because they know you that well or something
stop trying to find meaning. Noel uses words at times simply because they rhyme . don't over think it. this has become an anthem for perseverance. a crowd marching after a bombing in Manchester broke out in spontaneous song as they marched on 19:58
I read somewhere this song is about a girl he met in the states when he almost quit the band. He flew back to the UK and hit the big time and wrote this song about her. Her name wasn’t sally though. Apparently she told him to not look back in anger
I think it's the boys in the band telling him not to look back in anger. He was with her early on, and then the band blew up. He or she probably stepped out while on tour, hence the don't put your life in the hands of a rock and roll band. As we're walking on by is referring to the band. IMHO.
I think he's talking to him self. It happenes when you get your heart broken 💔. You kind of have theses thoughts with yourself looking for answers. just to feel emotional better cuz it's hard when theses things happen in our life "specially in bed" you have theses thoughts. And he started a revolution. Now he's famous.
This may be a stretch, but I get a real Meatloaf 2 out of 3 feeling from this song. In the way that you won't hurt me, and the perspective changed from his to hers in the different verses. Just an opinion.
The relationship failed. He was more in love with being a star. Step back out summer's in bloom? Time to find another summer love, as they didn't work. Don't look back in anger references their isn't a reason to hate each other. What they had was good, but both knew it wasn't going to last.

When this gets played in UK pubs the whole pub young and old join in I have witnessed it many times.
National anthem 🇬🇧❤

I wouldn’t try to analyse Oasis lyrics too much they aren’t written to be a story or anything it’s more to accompany the music
That’s where your wrong watch the documentary bro 😂

The lyrics to D'You Know What I Mean though...
@@Kyhec Noel went deep with them

Youre thinking of talk tonight - but same story
I suspect ‘Sally’ is Sally Cinnamon, the character in The Stone Roses wrote a song Noel loves.
Wonderwall isn’t even their best song 😂. They have probably 30 great songs before starting on solo stuff.
Completely agree, they even have b sides that are far better
SOOOOOOOOOOO SALLLY CAAAN WAIT
She knows it’s to late

Coolest band ever.
From Oasis that is.
A homage to the great late John Lennon from the Beatles.
It's a break-up song about Melissa Lim

You need to react to, "Stand by me".

Try Little by little, or Slide away.
You can’t pause it there 🤯!! Best part
died a little inside when she did
Noooooo!! I am just watching this they haven’t started it yet they really pause it at best part??😭😭🙄🙄

Stop crying your heart out next!
Boring. They have way more interesting and better tunes than that!
Consider react to Righteous Brothers - You've Lost That Loving Feeling
Good video. A little too much chatter though. A 30 min video for a 5 min song is a bit much. Just some constructive feedback. ✌️
😊
Over analytical passionless analysis. Terribly boring reaction.
If you shave your junk how dare you have a beard
That SUCKED!
As much as there's no 'true' lyrics, it's about all his old girlfriends now he's become famous, it's all over
I seen oasis live at the stadium of light two weeks before they split up 🤘 so I’m one of the last people to see them play together 😊
